Quiet here today!! I survived a day of babysitting and am now home trying to relax a bit. Grandkids were good. Now am going to try to work on my presentation for tomorrow and hopefully get some sleep. Probably will get to work on a pillowcase later on. Who knows... Ginny

I've been out with dd and dsis just to BK. i had a gift card which I've had for years. Now just am trying to figure out what new cell phone to buy since my tracfone is changing networks to upgrade
Ginny, I think there are only 3 more weeks of school here. I forgot to ask dd but they always get out before Mem Day. I hope you get a chance to work on the pillowcase. Is the presentation for work?

I like cool weather, too! We're into the mid 70s today, and I'm have problems with my feet and lower legs from peripheral neuropathy and maybe something else. Although I try not to borrow trouble or anticipate possible negatives, I am worried about summer and warmer temperatures. Both the chiropractor and the craniosacral therapist worked on my legs this morning. I also take gabepentine. I'm glad I have an appointment with my PCP in three weeks.
The aspen trees in front of the bay window in the living room are leafing out as I'm watching. It's like watching time lapse photography speeded up! The sky is blue, and there are some clouds drifting across the sky.
I've resumed work on a scarf I started a few years ago. The yarn is bamboo and has blues white and gray in it that give a tweedy look. It's a finer yarn than I usually work with. I have almost ten inches finished.

Sue, your description of the aspen trees is breathtaking....sounds so very very pretty. How lovely that you were able to enjoy that incredible view. Hope that your feet and lower legs are not an issue with warmer temps. Good thing to keep in touch with your medical experts to figure out the best choices in care for you. And I love cooler weather.Promise not to bellyache too much at the end of the week when its 80.
Wow, Ruth, only 3 more weeks of school? Sounds nice....but its many more here. Hope you enjoyed lunch with your sister today. Did all tracfones change networks? Dd’s fiancee has a tracfone....wonder if that impacts him. I have heard that cellular one is good, but do not know if they are in your area. Good luck finding another carrier!!
Yup I am teaching for work. Hope I do ok..... No time to craft today. Oh well. Perhaps tomorrow. G

Sue, I'm sorry to hear that you also have leg problems. That can be very painful. Dh took gabapentin for awhile but it didn't help so he quit. It was a different pain though not his legs. Well he had leg and hip pain too but that's not what it was prescribed for and it didn't help any of the pain he was experiencing.
Ginny, I'm sure you will do much more than just ok. I can tell that you are a good teacher.
Yes NYS has a long school year.

Hello Crafters Ruth - I have a Tracfone and twice over the many years I've had them I had to change phones because the network in my area upgraded and the phone I had wasn't going to be compatible with it anymore. In both of those cases TracFone sent me a new phone for free. Neither was a top of the line model, but they worked fine for me. Hope you can find a compatible phone to stay with them, or a new provider. Right now I have 3 cell phones - I know it's crazy, you don't have to tell me I went to the dentist today for a cleaning and they are saying I have a root under my bridge that I should get cut out. I hate any kind of dental surgery, so I'm not sure if I'll do this. On the other side of my mouth I need a bridge so I set up the appointments to get that done this summer. I also took care of errands while I was out so I don't have to go anywhere else this week if I don't want to. The weather here has been very cool. The temp in the house this morning was 63, but I'm determined not to turn the furnace back on. It's supposed to get warmer this week. Take care everyone!

Phyl, mine is a flip phone too and yes they do use other companies cell towers but it's their network that they're upgrading. Nope they dont give you a free phone at least not me. They do have a flip phone you can choose for only $5 but it's a brand I've had that was terrible so not getting that one.
CJ, well if I had them tell me that and the root didn't cause pain or difficulty chewing I wouldn't have it done either. I know it feels good to have errands done.
Did some crocheting this morning and then worked on dinner prep. For such a simple meal it sure takes a lot of prep. And it's hot here today and I will not complain after whining all winter about the cold but it was pretty hot cooking.
See you later

Phyl, we all have days when we just do not feel like going out and if you and Don have been busy bummin’- well perhaps that is what you were meant to do. I do believe that is true that many different companies use each others cell towers. Guess what it all boils down to is that you are getting the service that you need and not paying a ton for that service. Hope you enjoyed your day off- perhaps next week you will want to go to sewing.
Guess it all went well this morning with my presentation. All I know is that I am glad it is over. Gotta decide if I want to keep this license up- actually I do- but have to speak with Dh about me being gone for a day to do that. The mandatory class to keep the license is in 2 weeks...I would have to miss a day of babysitting for Dgd and Dh would have to watch her.
Glad tomorrow is a quiet day. gotta run some errands and I want to figure out the color scheme of the next 2 blocks I have to make. Decisions, decisions...
Hope I can get a little embroidery time in in a bit later. Have a great night all Ginny

CJ- I completely agree with Ruth, that if this root is not bothering you, why have it removed? (I know they want to charge you a ton to do that too!). I am sure that is not news you wanted to hear. Glad your errands are done !
Oh no, Ruth what simple meal has caused you so much work?? Good to hear you got some crocheting time in. Hope that Ds does not mind. And I dislike hot weather a LOT- so its ok to mention that. Unfortunately, summer is just around the corner- when at least I will be begging for autumn.
Have a good night G

No she didn't seem to mind at all. She was already on her smartphone and stayed on it. She does talk a lot to my dh but I guess she feels very comfortable just "chilling out" with me which is good.I asked her if she wanted to do anything...sightseeing and looking for those souvenirs she mentioned but she said not she wanted to do that later in the week.
I hope that since you want to keep that license up that your dh agrees to babysit in your place. Can you change days with the other grandmother?

Yes, I have several options- I can take the class at another location (greater distance from home) on another day, leave DGD (who is easy to care for ) with DH and keep the day I have for class or switch days with the other grandmother. Any of the options work for me. Not sure how much longer I care to keep these licenses up....there are 2 special licenses I have, this one is free to maintain but I must take the class. The other will cost me $100 in 2 years. ; I am kind of happy with this part time work I am doing....and might want to stay active in this capacity for a few more years.
Glad that your sister seems comfortable just to hang out, Ruth. It takes some of the pressure off you so that you do not feel its necessary to “entertain” her. BBL

A morning of errands and shopping is over with. I did manage to get into Walmart for a few items and picked up a copy of Quilt Sampler, with Phyls quilt shop in it. Looks like a great issue which will keep me company over a nice cup ot tea.
