Ruth, so glad that you have gotten the fitbit issue straightened out! It should sync when you are near dh’s computer (all by itself). Indeed you have hit the issue with fitbit- its not 100% accurate but does an outstanding job of assessing order of magnitude for how active you have or have not been. I do find that the distance walked feature, for me is pretty accurate. And remember the reverse will happen, when it does not measure a step or two (becasuse you did not swing your arm). I think it all balances out in the end.
So this am I went for my walk....and was sort of on my way back. Then Dd#2 called all upset. (She is fine- just hit a speed bump in her plans). I realized that she could no longer make phone calls, she had to go teach- so I offered to complete the calls for her. Put an extra mile on for that, as I did not want to lose phone signal while walking and stayed in the same area.. Great morning for a walk.
I am cleaning out my kitchen cabinets, we had an issue with antts- which I put traps out for. Think its pretty much taken care of, but I want to clean out and line the cabinets. Not my favorite job, but it will be great when done.
Got my copy of quilt sampler magazine out and the fabric for my next 2 blocks. Gonna get some crafting time in today no matter what!
Hi to CJ, Betty, Phyl, Meg and Sue. Ginny

It's going to be an even colder weekend than I thought. We'll definitely have to turn on the heat. DD and sister are planning on going to see a natural bridge tomorrow but may or may not go if it's too cold.
Just got finished with lunch even though it's 3pm and will have dinner late again which we've also done the last few days.
Ginny, I'm glad you got your walking in and it's so great that your dd has you to help her through all these plans. I'm glad to hear too that you will be doing some crafting and having some "me" time. After my sister goes back home I'm going to be out there walking every day and may have to get up earlier to do that before it gets too hot...but the too hot won't be happening for awhile yet. So I'll be able to say that I took walks too.I don't know how to set it for distance. I guess I have to use dh's computer to set some things or something. Funny thing is my fitbit synched with the app on my old smart phone at 5am this morning and I was nowhere near that phone at that time. It hasn't synched with it since even though I've been right here near it except while cooking. But I did think that it synched with only one device and thought that would be dh's computer where it set it up.Guess I'm just too old for all this new technology although I know quite a few people that are older than I am that do just fine.
Well I'm off to make biscuits for dinner. Dinner will be later but I'm thinking of making them early..we're having biscuits with sausage gravy for dinner...breakfast for dinner. On the weekend the weather will be perfect for casseroles and other things that use the oven.

evening crafters, Wednesday Delona and I went to the small town of Viroqua. she wanted to go through the stores. she was disappointed. I could have told her she would be.
The the three best stores in that town are the quilt shop, yarn shop, and the Norwegian gift shop.shop. I did not buy anything at the quilt shop. Ruth you would have a field day in the yarn shop. sorry to say it is a very high end yarn shop..no Hobby Hobby,Michael's,or Herschners type of yarns.
you would have fun just looking.
I did buy a handmade graduation card for Lizzie.Delona bought two hand made lighthouse potholders for her dsil for Christmas.ALSO a pine cone kitchen tool holder for her dd birthday in July.
WE had lunch at the co-op. I was not impressed.
yesterday I met with my doctor.I did not get hollered at for gaining about 5 pounds.also my a1c at 7.2 he said I was close enough to being at 7 where they like it. I did find out that weight gain is what can make the a1c go up,even though your bs's are good.
after lunch it was miracle ear. then the chiro.
today I worked on the 3 d blocks. finally have them done.now I can putting them together.
3 year ago I ordered the fitbit altra. still have not got it going. just can't seem to get any help with it.the fit bit site is not very helpful phyl

Good evening, Phyl sounds like you had an interesting day...its great news that the doctor did not go to hard on you about your A1c. As far as a 5 pound gain, you can set your mind to it and take those 5 pounds off!! How are the 3D blocks coming out? As far as difficulty with the fitbit site, try emailing them. They were helpful to me some time ago.
Ruth, it sure does sound like your fitbit is working- its syncing all by itself, as they do! You will figure it out, and do just fine. To get walks in, yes getting up early is best (well for me it is) because then I know I got my walk in and do not have to squeeze it in later. I hate getting up early, but have learned to love my walks. Hope that you adjust to it and enjoy walking too. Dinner sounds delish...sausage and gravy! Yum. Cooking in colder weather is so much more satisfying...hope that you can enjoy those cooler weather meals.
Gotta go find our outdoor cat...its late and i have to get him in. G

WEll as expected it's a nasty day here weatherwise. Not sure if dd and dsis are going where they had planned or not. I guess dd will come over in awhile and we'll see. One nice thing is that I called DTV again yesterday. The woman I talked to on Wed told me that I could no longer get the $90 a month discount I've had for the past year that all she could give me was $30 discount. I asked to cancel but not till June17th as I wanted my sister to be able to see her favorite tv while she was here.. the woman told me I had to call back on Friday which is the beginning of the new billing cycle. Well calling back got me my $90/month off again for another year so I'm set for another year. Today I'm planning on crocheting most of the time and if ds goes out spending some time with dh just the two of us.Gotta plan with dd and dsis what we will do this week. Dsis leaves on Friday. See you all later PS, Ginny cake tasting sounds so good. Can I come with you

I slept until 9:30 this morning. It's an allergy day. Arghhh! I was going to meet my property manager for coffee, but I've cancelled. Last night on the news, they included an allergy report. Up until now it's been the trees. Now it's still trees and grasses.
It's been raining, and the creeks are rising. I've turned the heat on, too. Outside it feels like I'm in the woods on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington! Damp. The clouds are wispy bits of fluff in the ravines and canyons. Most of the mountains are obscured. It's the kind of day that straigs straight hair and frizzes naturally curly hair! A nice change, but not one I'd like permanently.

Back from our morning, We stopped in to see DD #1 and her family It was on the way and good to see them all.
Sue, its been a rough allergy season here in NY too. Do you take anything to treat the allergies? I know everyone has their own special medications that they like or dislike and what works for one does not work for all. Hope that you get some rain soon to scrub the pollen out of the air. Hope you feel better soon too!
Ruth, cake tasting went well- this same bakery did the cake for Dd#1’s wedding and they do a lovely job. Fortunately, Dd and DSIL to be pretty much agreed on the fillings and cake flavors- its vanilla cake with custard filling and strawberry filling. I will save a piece for you! Congrats on the DTV discount!!! Wow- I am impressed that they are working with you that much....how wonderful to get such a deep discount. Yes, I was thinking that this was Ds’s last week. Has time with her gone quickly?
Got to look at Quilting Sampler in the car enroute to the bakery- oh my there are some gorgeous quilts in there, and they are kits to order!! I am in trouble....gotta behave myself.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today and enjoying your weekend I found some fresh strawberries at a local farm yesterday, so I bought 2 quarters. Then I went to another farm and was happy to find some rhubarb. So I spent some time yesterday and today preparing some of them for freezing, some for a sauce and others (strawberries) to eat now. It's nice to have them fresh, and I look forward to eating some later this year. I looked for the quilt sampler magazine while I was out but didn't find it in any stores. I'll have to look when I go out next week. It's been hot here the last few days, highs in the 80s. So it's starting that time of year where I won't get much done, just too hot for me. Take care everyone!

Ginny, I'm sure you're happy to have the errands done and it was probably very enjoyable to visit with dd#1 and the children even if you do see them often. Thanks for saving me a piece of the cake
Yes DTV will always give you a discount if you call and tell them that you'll need to cancel because of the increase in your price.or just plain ask them for a discount. They say it's loyalty rewards for being a customer for whatever number of years..they normally raise your bill every year ,as any of you that have had sattelite or cable tv know, unless you call and ask for your loyalty reward.
Sue It's rained all day here too and we also have a pollen alert. I take a med that's a generic Claritin.
CJ, congratulations of finding the amazing strawberries. The only ones we can get here are shipped here from elsewhere. Now and then we might accidentally come across a truck that's come up from Colorado to see some but that's rare...very rare. Oh and also on the rhubarb. I did mention mine the other day. I have only one plant. After mentioning it here I forgot to go out and cut some.
DD did come over and took dsis to her house for the day...although her "day" didn't start till almost 3pm. They may try to go sightseeing tomorrow or if not we'll go over there for dinner again.Green chili is very popular here but I've actually never had any so she's going to make some. She's often mentioned making it and having us over for some but hasn't done it yet. The time sis has been here has seemed both fast and slow. It is great to see her again but it will also be great to get back to our usual routine.DD and my sister have always been very close. My dd used to stay with my sister and mother a lot when she was little while my dh and I worked and after that still continued to go over there a lot even after dh and I no longer worked the same shift.WE never had a babysitter because they were always willing to have the kids over...kinda like Ginny's family where Ginny and her dh do the babysitting.

CJ- I found my copy of quilt sampler in Walmart....not sure if you ever go in there. Congrats on a great deal on strawberries and rhubarb! Yes, think we all remember you freezing it last year also. Yum. YIKES! Ruth, its snowing? ? Well, it is great news that DS and DD get along well and that keeps everyone happy- plus it gives you a break. Yes, I absolutely understand that its so nice to see your Ds, but will be equally as nice to see her go home. I slept poorly last night, so I am a bit tired. Gotta straighen out 3 bills and then I think I will go to bed. Hi to Sue, Becky, Phyl and Meg...hope I did not miss anyone Ginny

Good afternoon all. It's a little warmer today than they predicted I think but still only about 40. Snow is covering the mountain again. We're just sitting and relaxing before we go to dd's house for dinner and visiting then home to relax some more and crochet while talking or just watching tv together. I hope you are all having a great day and doing something enjoyable. What I'm working on today is a ear warmer made with an adapted pattern. Original pattern was for Baby's first Christmas afgan. You crochet rows with loops every 7 stitches then when finished braid the loops together. Here's what it looks like www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRTpA1CCOOU&t=1788s

Hello Crafters - Hope you are doing well today Ruth - That is an interesting process, I love the colors of yarn she used together. It's very hot here today, in the 90s with heat index around 100. I'd rather have snow I'll watch the final episode for this season of Call the Midwife tonight. I like this show and have watched it from the beginning. Of course at the same time (all the shows I watch come on at the same time for some reason!) there is a show on Smithsonian Channel that I want to watch "Aerial Britain", this episode is Scotland. I've been to Scotland once and would love to go again, but doubt I'll ever travel overseas again. Fortunately the internet lets me look at webcams and that's almost like being there.
