Ginny, we had frost this morning. The clouds are covering the valley and are still moving from east to west. Yesterday we had a few snowflakes.
Today I'm going to the chiropractor and the craniosacral therapist. I have a very short list for the grocery store.
By the time I make some phone calls, fix dinner, feed the dogs and take them out a few times I'll be ready for some zzzzzzzs again!

HI crafters, Yesterday was Hannah's dance recital.she was in 2 performances.we sat there for 3 hours.. that was to long. my back still feels it.
I need to get a new heating pad. mine bit the dust saturday. it was old.so am using ice.
I have been in my playpen. I have the 3d bow table matt ready to sew together tomorrow at sit and sew.
not sure what else to take with.I do have another project line up.
I SURE hope next week is warmer. looks like it might be.Memorial day week end is upon on us.sure hope it is warm for campers and other out door activities.
at the recital yesterday there weer two really cute performance. one was 3 little girls in fancy dresses. probably 3-5 years old. they started out ok then did their own thing. everybody was laughing.
the second half opened with dads dancing with their dd. they danced to the song yacky yax.
in the back of the recital program is a list of times and what classes cost. how can parents afford 2-3 kids in lessons at he same time??
13 more days and we will be done putting hannah on the bus. we have been doing it since she was 6. she is now 11. we have made memories.
this fall she will catch the bus closer to her house.
she will have to be out there by 7am. so it is about 30 minutes difference from now.they will be able to see her from their house.
I told her I might walk down to her house the first day and see what she is wearing and how tall she has grown.she will be in middle school. phyl

Ginny, I'm sorry to hear that dgs has a fever again. The poor children have been sick too much this year. I hope he feels better fast and hope the baby's teething woes are over
Phyl, I remember the days of dance recitals. I was fortunate that my mother paid for my dd to take dance lessons. She also paid for lessons for one of my neices and in one recital my dd and dn did a number together just the two of them. They were both good dancers. She gets that from her dad's family. His youngest sister was an excellent dancer and since she so much younger than we are we went to a couple of her recitals also....they are LONG!
Just got home. We went sightseeing as the weather was better than was forecast. Then came home to catch our breath and went out to lunch. Phyl, I think you may have Pizza Ranch there too. We did get there at the wrong time though. It was just after the noon lunch rush and everything was depleted and it did take them awhile to replenish the buffets...there was plenty of pizza but none of the chicken. For Ginny and CJ....it's a buffet place for Pizza and chicken as you may have guessed from what I said about the chicken being all eaten. After they refilled it was great. We don't usually go there. For one thing it's way on the other side of town like most things but we wanted to take dsis to a place that is different for her...pizza and chicken buffet is not something you see everywhere. While over there I did see that we either have or will have a Michael's store!!!! Of course I probably won't ever go there because ...well you know...other side of town and all.But I could go there when I take my car for service as the dealer is near there.
Worked on the braided headband last evening then a cable one. The braided one has so many ends because I didn't carry the colors up the side due to the fact that they are one row changes so don't end on the same side. I'll probably crochet over them when putting on edging. WE'll see what happens there.

Good afternoon, Phyl and Sue, I will trade the cool weather you are both experiencing anyday over what is now 79 degrees and humid.
Sue, hope that your visits to the chiropractor are working and that you are feeling more comfortable.
Phyl- wow kids grow up fast!!! Its really nice that Hannahs bus stop will be closer to home and she can be seen from her house. That is a big comfort, especially as middle school kids think they are “too cool” for a parent to be with them at the stop, but good parents still want to know that their kids are safe. Glad to hear that you got the 3rd bow ready to sew. What are you planning on using for your next project??? As far as lessons go, most studios and sports programs offer family discounts, which helps a little bit. Indeed, its very pricey. Sorry that Hannahs dance recital was that long- but long recitals seem to be common. And they are a killer on both the back and patience.
Got to spend some time in the quilting magazine today while DGD and DGS slept. Like a little mini vacation for my brain.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Phyl - I had a great-niece that was in dance and it was so much fun going to some of her recitals, glad you could go and enjoy it. Ruth - I'm happy you saw a Michaels and that hopefully you can stop there sometime. Ginny - Hope your DGS is better, glad you had some time to look at the magazine. Thanks for mentioning you found it at Walmart, I'll check there. Sue - Hope your medical appointments went well. Meg and Betty - Hope you are getting in some crafting. It's very hot here again, in the 90s. I finally gave in and pulled out the air conditioners (I'd just been using fans but it go too hot). I put the window unit one in my bedroom window and I'll run it this evening for several hours to cool off the room. I found if I did that then I didn't usually have to turn it on during the night (unless it was a really hot night outside). I also set up the portable one in my dining room. I figured out that I needed to prop it up more to get the air from it flowing out of the dining room into the living room and that seems to be working well and the living room feels cooler than it did last year. I sit in the living room in the evening. I have to unplug this one and pull it out of the window in the evening so I can shut the window at night. My house alarm won't go on with the window open and I'd never be able to sleep with the alarm off. I'm tired of all this, I keep hoping I'll get out of this house before each summer but I haven't yet. Maybe before next year. I've been enjoying the rhubarb-strawberry sauce with some vanilla yogurt. I'll finish that up tomorrow. I'm not doing much else and that's the way it will be all summer with the heat. I hate to wish time away, but I hope it goes by quickly for me anyway Take care everyone!

I miss happy joe's.they had the best taco pizza.we use to take the family there for kyle's bd when he was growing up. think the last time was his 21st bday. they closed several years ago.
next quilt project. I am looking at one in Missourie star block book.really should get back to working on finishing my projects in waiting. that was my goal this year to get as many of them done as I can. guess what haven not finished one. phyl

The ground is covered by the "white stuff" but at least the roads and all are clear. We might go out to shop for a couple more souvenirs for dsis. She seems to have already bought a ton of things but says she could use more. Finished the cable headband last night and watched a video for another while dsis was watching her wrestling shows she likes.DD's best friend that is like a sister to her had a death in the family...her mother in law did..had severe COPD so dd will be with her friend who had a very close relationship with her mil so she won't be here today but will come for a last visit before my dsis leaves.

Good morning!
Phyl, well we get done what we get done- and its not like you have not been working on something, you just have not worked on your UFO’s. Maybe make one day a week for UFO’s. The LQS I take classes at actually has a UFO class....the concept of which is interesting but encourages us to finish in process work. No pizza ranch, pizza corral or taco joes here. Think that is cause I live in the extended (very extended ) NYC suburban area (rural in spots) where there are no chains just independant pizzerias.
CJ-smart thinking to rearrange the airconditioner so it cools better. One step at a time- this was the year to unload all the extra stuff, next year is the year to move. Any idea where you will relocate to? It is a daunting task, I know that well. Dh and I chat about moving all the time and cannot agree on a location. So many decisions, and then you have to go where you can afford. I hope for your sake that its an easy decision because you find a place that is perfect for you..
Ruth, sounds like you had a really nice day! A busy one too! Did you ever find a place for Ds to purchase souvenirs? Yes, you will crochet those ends in when you put on the border, that makes a ton of sense, especially on a project the size of a headband. Hope you are enjoying the time with Ds.
Back at Dd’s again for the day. DGS has strep- at least its an explanation for why he was so miserable yesterday. He is better today and will be able to go to preschool Thursday. A cold front came in last night and its delightful this morning.
Gonna sit down and check out my magazine while DGD sleeps. G

That's what I miss here is the absence of independent pizza and sub shops. They had great ones back in WNY
Ginny, it's great that dgs is now on antibiotics and will feel better soon now that he's taking them. I hope it doesn't spread to his sisters or his parents or you for that matter.
CJ, yes it's great that you were able to figure out how to make the a/c more efficient and cool more space. Sounds like something you really needed to happen. And yes, I sure dread the thought of moving. All the decisions of what to get rid of. It's one of the reasons dh doesn't want to invest in new furniture. He says that if and when we do move we'll just dispose of most of that we now have. It's all pretty old. So, anyway, I feel for you. You need to live in a safer place but it's a huge undertaking.I know that when your parents bought that house that they thought it would be a great forever home for you, never dreaming that the neighborhood would become unsafe.

Rutn, Well stated for CJ regarding her neighborhood. That is what happens, however, neighborhoods frequently go downhill....seems like we are running out of good places to live in. Its one of the big issues I have with the south. I dislike the climate there, too hot- so living in the south east is not an option for me anyway. But I hear that to live there one must either buy a lot of property- 10 acres or so....or buy into a gated community for the security. Very sad, if that is what this world has become.
Almost time to run out for Dd’s bridal dress fitting. Being home tomorrow will sure feel nice. G

Hello Crafters Ginny - How are the rest of the wedding plans coming along? Do you already have your dress? Ruth - Snow! I'm glad you finished your project and hope you find a new one to start. I'm sure it's been nice to see your sister and spend this time with her. The weather here today is beautiful in the 70s with a breeze. I have the windows open to let the heat out of the house. I think we have another nice day tomorrow and then it's back to the heat. The whole thought of moving and deciding where to move has been so terrible for me. I can't find "the" place I want to go to, and the places that I would choose are too expensive for me. I have thought that I'd do best in a 55+ community where they take care of the outside maintenance of the house, so I've looked at some of those. I also look on the internet several times a week for houses and at different areas and then end up depressed when I can't find anything. Also, I'll be selling this house "as is" because there is just too much to fix for me to spend money on it. And I don't want to be living in the house when I sell it, so that means I have to move out and either rent somewhere or buy. I can't be too far away from the house for sale because I'll need to check on it to make sure I don't have any break-ins or damage. Similar houses in the area have taken up to a year to sell, so I'm just dreading the whole thought of renting somewhere for a year, or maybe more and coming back to this house all the time to check on it and thinking of all the things that could go wrong. I just get so upset thinking about all of it, that I can't do anything. I do appreciate all the support I receive here I bought my new car almost two months ago (it will be two months next week), I have never received my permanent registration card from Motor Vehicles and the temporary one expires next week. So I guess I'm going to go to Motor Vehicles this week and see if I can get a permanent card while I'm there, or at least an extension on the temporary. I'm thinking I can get the permanent one if I take all the necessary documents. I hope so. Nothing is ever easy Hope everyone is getting some crafting in and enjoying your day

cj, I hate moving! I'm curious about what you think you would like. Do you have a geographic preference? Would your decision be influenced by family and friends?
When I retired we knew we wanted to move to Montana. Because I had never owned a house, I wanted a house and space. This isn't the house of my dreams, but a created a dreamy and practical garden. Now 25 years later, I would do things differently! I'm not unhappy with my choices or decisions though. There are so many different ways of doing things, and I would just like to have a blank slate and another go round!
Ginny, I think the chiropractor helps to keep me moving. I'm better than I was when I first started seeing him, but he's not going to make me younger or stronger! My spine is a mess!
The procedure with the podiatrist was this morning. My toe was numb enough that I felt zero pain at the time. I can tell it's going to be a rough night though. I was out of there in about twenty minutes. I met my property manager for coffee before heading home. She is very detail oriented and has excellent people skills, too. By the time I arrived home, the lawn had been mowed, so it's been a productive day.
Ruth, I've enjoyed reading about your sister's visit. I wish my sister had visited me. She wouldn't have liked winter here, but I know she would have loved this area in the summer.

evening crafters, today was sit and sew.I did finish the 3d bow tie top. now do I want it as a wall hanging or a table mat. probably a wall hanging. need to sandwich it and think about how do I want to quilt it.
ginny most of us on sew day work on what we want.ufo's,new projects, charity quilts. wool projects.
the big projects I need to work on at home. like 3 twin size/lap quilts, some baby quilts .baby quilts I could take with.
can't work on something to big when another person is beside you or sitting across the table from you.
I think these are 5 foot tables and not very wide. what I really need to do is plan about a week ahead to get things ready. not wait till one or two days before.
one of these days I will have to finish the cloth storybooks. have a dog and bear pattern I would like to do.
another cold wet windy rainy day.
sure hope june will be warmer. like putting away coats and jeans and sweatshirts. don't want it to get to 90 and have to return the air on right away.
ground is so wet farmers can't get back into the fields. rivers are rising again for the third time and will cause minor flooding.don usually has our garden plot tilled and his 6 customers gardens tilled.,some planting done.
I will take it over the tornado states and states really having bad thunder storms. phyl
