Sue, me too. While everyone has a right to their own opinion I often wonder how other people can believe what they do believe.
Ginny, I hope your dgs is feeling better. Maybe he has a virus along with the strep.

hi crafters,
today was the chiro. showed him some moves we do in chair yoga.he said watching me I am tight. I am to go to the y chair yoga twice a week but not back to back days . have a day in between.
it's to easy to find other things to do.
then went to the store and I got a new heating pad. mine bit the dust saturday. it was sooo llll dddddd
I don't know why in groups political stuff has to be brung up either. we are not going to agree or change another person's mine.same with religon.
I agree on the quilt. there are quilters some like muted, some like brights, some like 30's, some like darks.all waht they see in there heads when making a quilt. I LIKE BRIGHT,PASTELS, FALL AND CHRISTMAS. course alot depends on the pattern. phyl

Yup, I agree with each of you on the Pat Sloan quilt. What was she thinking? I respect her desire to make a lighter quilt in appearance, but then there is that one block that has a deep magenta color (huh?). It all looks disfunctional and washed out. The right pastels and I would love it.
CJ- so glad you found the magazine. Happy reading, my friend!
Ruth, who knows what your Ds will do with all those shirts. Hard to believe that her visit is almost over.. Prayers for her safe travel.
Sue, guess you probably over did it with your toe. Hope it heals well
Phyl- hope that the new heating pad works great for you and lasts a long time!
Took DGS to the doctor for Dd- they did bloodwork looking for all kinds of stuff....but the fever has broken. They are not recommending an ENT dr, yet. Dd was a big boy in the doctors office. Very well behaved.
Long day for me. Gonna get some sleep Good night G

Gorgeous weather here. Going for a walk with Dd and the grand kids. G

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Thanks for validating my thoughts on the quilt I don't have a problem with different colorways, but I still think the colors should compliment each other. It's a beautiful day here too. Very low humidity, a breeze, and temps in the 80s. I'm hoping it doesn't get too hot later in the day since I have my windows open for the breeze. The guys came to mow my lawn yesterday, so the yard looks pretty. Does anyone have any plans for the holiday weekend? I don't, I'll probably just stay home unless I feel like I want to get out of the house. It's nice to stay off the roads since there is more traffic on these kinds of weekends. I'm going to do some research on the bug jar/canning jar quilt block and look at different patterns and watch some videos - then I can figure out which pattern I want to use. I'm hoping to find the one with the least pieces of fabric added around the "jar" piece. Take care everyone!

Good morning CJ and all who come in later. I'm happy to say that I got dsis to the airport safely. Only problem is that her plane from Denver to Chicago was delayed so that means she will not make it in time for her plane to Buffalo. So far no openings on any other flight...well it's the holiday weekend. The person at the desk said that sister could wait till tomorrow but I really didn't think that was a good idea because, since it is the holiday weekend why would there be spaces. She said she personally advices that sister go ahead on her flight and when she got to Denver see what they had to say and if still no openings continue on to Chicago. So sister opted to go ahead and I told her that if she didn't get a flight on to Buffalo to make sure they gave her a hotel room for the night.I was glad, probably selfishly, that she opted to go ahead because I really didn't want to have to go back to the airport again tomorrow and I was really looking forward to having my routine back
I'll be back later after I rest some

Well when my sister got to Denver they got her a seat so she's all set.I'm sure it's a load off her mind and it is a load off mine too because I know she was worrying about it. I do hope she has someone picking her up at the airport.
It's a weird day weatherwise here today. It was sunny and over 60 but then starting cloudy, getting sunny, getting cloudy again and then a thunderstorn, cleard again and now rain. This warmth over 60 is a welcome change from the last few days. Still it was so windy when we went to the airport that I still wore my winter jacket. and still wasn't very warm.
I started a earwarmer at the airport while waiting to make sure my sister's plane actually took off and have it nearly done so now I can go on to other things. This earwarmer is so much fun and so easy to make though but if I keep making them I'll have to start standing on street corners to give them away.

and on goes the saga... sister and plane are still sitting on the runway in Denver. It's been over 1 1/2 hours sitting there. Hopefully it doesn't delay them so much that she misses this plane they just found her a seat on after the last D->C plane was delayed.

evening crafters, oh ruth I so do hope your sis gets home. just said a prayer the plane takes off.
maybe she bought all those shirts to give to friends.that or maybe they asked her to buy shirts and they will pay her.
today I have mostly been sitting around. we did go to perkins for lunch. I had the strawberry salad and the chicken salad crossaint.
did walk over to the nieghbor's a couple of times to see how her rummage sale was going. don't think she did to bad for a rainy morning and the start of a holiday weekend. she started at 7 and a few people came at 5 pm.she might open it up sunday again.
last weekend was the city wide rummage sale. we didn't know that.
she had a rooster divided dish I liked. I don't need anymore dishes or cups.
I stopped dong r.s. years ago. I never made much for all the work they are.friends could alot.
she was trying to get rid of her mom's old fashioned sewing machine cabinet. like our mom's or grandma's would have had.
tomorrow is lizzie's graduation. then sunday we have friend who's son has his party. phyl

Thank you Phyl, Yes she may have bought some for friends or maybe for other family for Christmas presents or something. She had another one on today. Haven't heard anything more so the plane must have taken off finally. Phyl, I've never had strawberry salad but I LOVE chicken salad and would have loved that on the crossant. Congrats to Lizzie on her graduation. I had one garage sale once. I did make a little over $100. It was to benefit some friends that had cancer.
I finished the earwarmer and wove in ends on the one that I hadn't woven in on before so they're all completely done.I need to decide what to work on next. Maybe the water balloons.I do want to make some more of the earwarmers with a smaller hook to make some narrower oneu

Good morning!
CJ, gee I thought you already had the pattern for the bug jar/mason jar quilt. Was it easy finding one that you liked and has minimal cutting? Sounds like you have a nice relaxing weekend planned. I do not think its supposed to get too hot on the east coast this weekend....at least from the mid Atlantic up. I heard from my DSIL in florida last night who was already noting that it was going to be very hot.
Ruth, did DS make it home? Gee, she still lives in the Empire State? Sounds like she had quite a journey....hope she is home safely by now. Bet you are happy to get your normal routine back, but I am sure it was great to see her.
Phyl-garage/rummage sales are a boat load of work! I agree with you- did one twice and its just too much work for me to make too little. Sounds like you have a nice weekend planned with the two parties to attend! Congratulations to the graduates....hope there is good weather for the parties.
Got my crafting in this am. Everyone else is sleeping, so I opened my email- saw an email from Herschnerrs, and found myself looking at pillowcases, So I put a few on my “wishlist” and will revisit that list in a week or so. Most of those kits have only standard sized pillow cases which is a problem if you like larger pillows. Gotta find a way around that....
Have a great day G

Ginny, thank you for asking. Yes she did make it safely home about 1am eastern time. I'm sure she's glad to be back home too and I'm sure her kitties were happy to see her.
I saw Herrschner's sale. They had flat rate shipping maybe just for the one day? I'm not sure but normally their shipping charges are very high.I don't need anything so I didn't even look.I didn't realize that the pillow cases for embroidery are only for standard size. You would think they would expand to larger sizes now that everyone has large pillows.
Well I have a lot of housework to do now that company is gone. I don't know about you all but I don't like to spend a lot of time doing time consuming things while company is here so I do it all before and after. I took a day off yesterday both to relax and to rest my back muscles that got pulled trying to pull out the pull out couch and then lifting my sister's luggage yesterday It's just a reminder that I'm getting old, just part of life I guess

I was awake for a few hours during the night, so I woke up around nine. I'm still waking up.
No particular plans for today, except soaking my toe! This is a daily task for another week. Although I can put on a shoe, there's just too much friction and pressure for it to be comfortable. Otherwise, things are fine!
I was reading online that there is a 700 inch base of snow at the top of Mammoth Mountain, a ski resort on the east side of the Sierras. They expect to be able to ski into August! There were two feet of new snow last week. That's near the area where we used to camp for a month in August. I would like to be magically transported to our favorite camp site, now closed to camping, just to check out the conditions!

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ginny - I'm glad you were able to get some crafting in this morning. I have found several patterns for the bug jar block. Most of them have a lot of pieces, so I'm looking for a pattern that is the easiest. MSQC has a video tutorial and they strip piece the lid portion of the jar, so I might try that. Ruth - I'm glad your sister made it home safely. Hopefully you can take your time doing what you have to do around the house. Sue - Hope you toe continues to improve. It's in the 80s here today and sunny. I'm not sure on the humidity since I haven't been outside. I didn't sleep that well last night so I'm just taking it easy today. I would like to go out this weekend, except I really don't want to be on the road with all the people. Take care everyone!

CJ-hope you can sleep better this evening! I will have to check out the MSQ video for the bug jar quilt, I admit I am curious!
Sue, sounds like the toe is healing well. Is it less uncomfortable now? That is some story about snow through August! Wow.....then the snow starts up again in October? Just my guess.....
Ruth , so glad your sister made it home safely. Overall, was it a pleasant visit? I can imagine it feels so nice to have your house back! Don’t work too hard cleaning up after the visit!
Went to see Dd#1 for her birthday, then walked around a local street fair and came home . Lovely evening here. Hope that we are home tomorrow so I can work on that quilt block.
Have a good evening Ginny
