Good morning Ginny and all. It seems like a fairly nice weather day here although it's pretty windy. The usual Monday housekeeping chores will be done but the planting of tomatoes outdoors will wait since I forgot to put them outside to let them become accustomed to the outdoors and today way be too windy for a first day.
I did start the bunny blanket buddy last evening and got a lot of it done. It's much easier since the last time I made one but that was back in 06 and I've had a lot more crochet practice since then. It's very soft and I do think it will be loved by an infant and toddler.I still have the head and ears to do then I'll do a second one. I'm working down my list so I moved the six point star loveys down the list since these will take their place. In fact I might just turn those six point star loveys into blankets by adding more onto them. They're really pretty. I just didn't want to make an animal head for them as that would have entailed various parts that would need to be sewn together as well as the head and arms to sew on to the blanket part.
I saw that Sue stopped in last evening. Good to see you Sue. I hope you and everyone else has a great day. It's always busy on Mondays with the new week starting.

lIZZIE DID BRING A SHOPPING BAG OF FOOD OVER FOR US. I DID ASK HER HOW HER DAD TREATED HER. HE INORGED HER.LIZZIE SAID THAT IS OK.
HE WAS DRINKING BEER AND PLAYING CARDS. I THINK HIS BROTHERS HELPED KEEP HIM UNDER CONTROL.OTHER WISE WHO KNOWS WHAT THE JERK WOULD DO.
I HAVE PROJECT READY FOR SEW DAY TOMORROW. IF YOU GET THE MISSOURI STAR BLOCK MAGAZINE IT IS ON THE COVER 3D PINWHEEL TABLE TOPPER.. NOT SURE YOU CAN FIND IT ON THEIR SITE.
I AM NOT SURE I LIKE THE WHITE BACKGROUND WITH SOME PRINTS IN THEM.IT IS HARD TO FIND FAT QUARTERS WITH A SMALL/TINY COLOR PRINT IN THEM. MAYBE WHEN IT IS SEWED TOGETHER I WILL LIKE IT BETTER. MAYBE IF I MAKE ANOTHER ONE IT WILL BE PATRIOTIC. PHYL

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Phyl - Hope you enjoy your sew day tomorrow. I agree with you about finding fat quarters (and even larger pieces of fabric) with some print in them. I'm always looking for something like that - a light fabric with small print. Ruth - I think a little child would love one of those Bunny Blanket Buddies to carry around and I can imagine it would be comforting too. Ginny, Sue, Meg and Betty - Hope you are all enjoying your day and getting some crafting in. I went out this morning and the dentist replaced my crown. I'll take it easy eating on that side of my mouth for a bit, hopefully it will stay in. He said I was there last year for it to be put in, so I guess it lasted a year the last time, so I'll hope for at least a year this time. I also went by the Kia dealership to order a spare tire kit and spare tire for my car. The car only came with a tire patching kit and even though I have AAA and the Kia service where I could call and be towed, I'll feel safer knowing I could have someone put on the spare tire. I guess this is part of cutting costs for less luxurious cars (not including a spare tire anymore). I also ran some errands while I was out and did some grocery shopping. I bought an immersion blender, I want to try it making some vegetable soup. Chunky soups are O.K., but I prefer the smoother ones so I'm hoping this blender will be easy to use and give me good results. It was a beautiful day here today, in the 70s with a breeze. I think tomorrow is supposed to be cool too and then we get the hot days back. I'm enjoying having my windows open and feeling the breeze. Take care everyone!

lI don't know why all my passwords disappeared from my computer. now each site I got to I have to put them back in.
Phyl, Have a good time at sewing tomorrow. I hope your table runner does turn out to be much nicer than you're thinking it will be. I'm glad the graduation party went ok and there was no trouble.
CJ, yes when I found that my car didn't come with a spare I made that a part of the deal that they needed to include the tire and kit.I was really surprised that cars don't come with them now. Yes I have towing thru Volkswagen and also my ins company but sometimes there is no signal on my phone in some areas in this state so wouldn't be able to call for help so I do need a spare and I think it's always a good idea to have one. Even if you call for assistance how do they help if you don't have a spare. Supposedly the little kit they give you is supposed to seal the tire enough to get you to a place where you can buy a new tire but I'd hate to rely on that.
I have an immersion blender from years ago and it's a good one. Just a few years ago I bought another just to have a spare but when I got it home I found that the blade was very tiny and it didn't look like it would be good for much so I returned it. I hope your's works for you. I do have a spare actually. When we had our "fishing shack" in Arkansas we had small appliances for there too and brought a lot of our things back with us when we sold the place and immersion blender was one of them. I haven't used it since though and that was back in 2008 that I brought it home.Same with food processor. I bought a mini processor that is actually a pretty decent size at a garage sale probably about 20 years ago at least for 25 cents. Put it in the garage and didn't use it for years. I guess I didn't realize what it was. I finally got it out and have used it all the time since and it does an amazing job at the things I use it for. Has a good blade and a very strong motor. I chop really hard things in it with no problem.I do have a regular size food processor that I've probably used twice. It too, like the immersion blender that I returned, has a very small blade and doesn't seem to be very useful. I had bought one for dd at the same time and she loves hers.

Happy Tuesday my friends~ Sorry for being MIA yesterday, it just turned into one of those days and by the time I was able to stop back later on, I was too tired to leave a post. I did, catch up in reading...but just felt uninspired to respond.
Do not have an immersion blender, but do have a food processor and a regular blender, plus a nutribullet. I use each of them as needed, which is not all that frequently.
CJ- glad you ordered a real spare tire. Those mini spares are pretty useless and the ability to have a real tire is so much better.
Ruth- I hear that those tire repair kits are pretty good, but I would imagine that there are some flaws in a tire that the kit will not work on. The real spare is best.
Phyl, hey you party animal! Bet you are glad that all the celebrating is over with and life can return to normal I too have a tough time finding a small print in a color- guess that style of calico is out of style these days.
Finished the block last night and now have a few days rest before the next class. Ginny

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today. Ruth - Hope you can get your saved passwords back. I'm so "paranoid" that I don't save my passwords anywhere (except one place on my kindle for the message boards), I type them in each time. Thanks for your thoughts/info on the immersion blender. Ginny - I have days like you did yesterday. I always feel bad when I don't post here, but I hope that you all know I read each day and then post when I'm feeling more up to it. I think we all understand how you felt I'm glad you finished your block. The tire I'm getting for my car will probably be one of those donut tires, not a full size, but at least I'll feel better knowing that if I have a flat they can put that on so that I can get home without having to be towed. It's another beautiful day here, sunny and temps in the 70s. I sure wish we could have a few days a week like this through the summer. I could deal with the hot days the rest of the week. Oh well, that's not realistic thinking for summer days I pressed the fabrics for the small quilt top I've been talking about and I have to admit I'm not motivated at all to work on it, it just doesn't interest me. So I'll have to see if once I start on it I feel more like finishing it. If not, then I need to put it aside. I don't like it when quilting becomes work to me, I don't feel like that's what crafting should be about. It should be the joy of creating, in my opinion. I watched the 25th anniversary of Les Miserables show on PBS this weekend (and I'm watching it again now), so I've had that music going through my head for days. Fortunately I love the music Hope everyone else is having a good day and that everyone can get some crafting in. Take care!

CJ- so glad you are able to enjoy the anniversary of Les Mis on PBS. good music can so lift the spirits and take us to a very special place...That stinks that you are not inspired by the fabrics you are intending to work with. Is one fabric really bothering you- can you replace one fabric that with another that brings the other fabrics to life? Even a mini spare is better than nothing- and will surely allow you to drive to safety and have AAA take care of the rest. Believe me, I am loving the weather too, which will unfortunately go into the 80โs for a week starting tomorrow. Its been a pleasure leaving the windows open and not needing AC. Guarantee that we will be using our AC tomorrow.
Well, I am ready to explode. RIght now we are caught up in a medical insurance conundrum, Dh is supposed to go in for a minor surgical procedure tomorrow am, but the insurance has not yet approved it. (They only submitted for the procedure yesterday). It seems as though its the doctors office for waiting a week to submit until 2 days before the procedure. At the moment I am waiting for a phone call to see that they have resolved the problem. What a nuisance and an inconvenience.
Hoping for a peaceful evening G

Ginny some days are just like that. There are many factors in the lives of all of us that determine what we're able to do on a particular day. I'm glad you got the block done and don't have to worry about it being finished in time for the class.
CJ, I think that's what they gave me was a donut tire but I'm not really sure. And I agree. If something isn't enjoyable then we shouldn't be doing that as a hobby at least not at that particular time. I'm sure your love of quilting will return at some points
Did some of the dreaded yard work today. I planted my tomatoes in the large pots. I had set them out yesterday and they survived the night so they are now planted. Dh mowed the grass and the neighbor came over with his riding lawn mower too and helped dh with that. Then we did a little tree trimming. It's a beautiful day as far as weather goes. Dh is grumpy again. He's like night and day.

OH my goodness, Ginny. Just what you need is an insurance snafu. Why in the world would they wait so long? Doctor's offices know how long the insurance companies take to decide anything so you would think they would take care of that immediately!!.
CJ, I found out that somehow I must have accidentally clicoked something that made me "incognito" as a tab stating that I was incognito showed up and it told me how I could get out of that mode luckily so all is well. Yes saving passwords on a computer is a little iffy esp when it's a laptop or other small device that could be stolen with your passwords in it. Luckily the bank requires it to be typed in each time. I don't have passwords for anything else that could cause major problems saved...mostly just this message board and pattern sites

Gee Ruth, so sorry that Dh is Mr Grumpy- any idea what caused a terrible mood? So nice that neighbors helped out with your yard. Yard work can be tedious, especially as the weather gets warm and uncomfortable. (I cannot imagine why someone wants to be outside when they are hot and sweaty when sitting inside and crochetting or quilting or knitting etc is SO much more fun!! Glad you got the tomatoes in- and I hope that you get a decent yield.
Had to work the phone hard to get through to the right people, but thank you Lord, the insurance problem is resolved. We got 2 phone calls, one at 4:50 the other at 5 (from 2 different people) telling me that the issue was resolved and the procedure is approved. I am VERY thankful for that.
Gonna go get in my jammies and hope to relax a bit, and get to bed early. Dh did plant tomatoe plants and a few other vegetables. Now we are at the mercy of the deer and the woodchuck- and Dh will be furious if the plants get eaten. Only time will tell. G

Ginny, I'm thankful too that the approval was taken care of. I'll be praying for the procedure to be a complete success.
That's why I plant in pots and keep them very close to the house sheltered by our huge Co Blue Spruce. Otherwise the deer have a feast. Luckily we don't have woodchucks here. They're also very close to the front door which may sound strange but there's no way to protect them in the back. Plus they can't be seen all that well from the street and even if they were seen I don't think anyone here would object to some tomatoes in pots even in the front yard.

good morning, today will meet Delona at the y and we will be of doing our Wednesday thing.
yesterday sew day was fun. the 3d pinwheel tale runner from msqc is not that hard to do, you do have thick seams. the book does not say anything about pressing the seams. I did.course that flattens the pinwheels.
Next time I will make the squares a little bigger then 5 inches. the first piece you sew on is 1/8th inch seam. now that is not easy. then you sew the 4 quandarents together and that is how you get your blocks.
This pattern is in her special latest block magazine. I will check out you tube and see if she has a video on it. doubt it.
enjoy your day today. phyl

Good morning!
CJ, how is your crown? I know you said you were going to go easy on that side. Sometimes it takes a second insertion to get it right.
Ruth , so glad that your plants are in. Makes sense that being close to the house might work with the critters. Hope itโs a good crop for you and you get lots of tomatoes.
Sue, how are you doing? We miss you.
Phyl, how is your back? A few days ago it was bothering you. Did you get to the y?
Got my walk in ( a short one) and now am waiting to be teen in to see Dh before the procedure. Hope that this day goes well and quickly.. itโs a bit more expensive than originally indicated, insurance has a deductible that was not explained until this am. Whatever. Just hoping for a good outcome from all this. Ginny

I'm here, just quiet! Yesterday the podiatrist released the tendon on the back of my second toe on my other foot so I'm sort of limping along. I have to continue soaking my right foot but can't get the left one wet until after Friday. I have a doctor appointment for my physical on Thursday. I'm planning to bag my left foot so I can be clean for my appointment! In the meantime, the drain in the shower just stopped draining. I'm going to have to make a quick trip to town to pick up a prescription and some Liquid Plumber. Today is going to be our hottest day so far this year. 80+. I'd better bet moving fairly soon. This weekend the temperature is dropping and will have problems getting out of the 60s. So, my life is about as scrambled as this paragraph!
