Judy and Sue keeping both DH's in my thoughts and prayers.
I agree with mental exhaustion being the worse kind.
Wishing all a good day.

Good morning all. Woke up early this a.m. to a very foggy sky. Now it's all burned off and we have plenty of sunshine. The air feels much cooler which I'm just loving Have a lot of 'little things' to get done today not to mention a trip to the farmers market and our local supermarket. I am almost finished with my book by Robyn Carr...I 'think' it may be the first in a series...very good The View From Alameda Island. Only have a few more days before it gets puffed so I need to get r done Take care, all and wishing you a wonderful day!

Hi Ann and friends,
Yes, I like Robyn Carr, too, Ann. So many authors and books and so little time. I have to start making a list like my mom did because I forget them sometimes! lol
Isn't it beautiful today? Loving the weather! We went to VIAs Italian restaurant to celebrate a colleagues retirement - another great meal and I saved up pts to have a small shrimp scampi dish. I am hopeless when going out at times. I get so sick of salad, salad, salad though several had a grilled romaine lettuce/chicken Caesar salad that they all raved about. I have never tried grilling romaine! It just didn't hit me but it did look good. My scampi was wonderful and small-ish portion. But now, I need a nap!
Back to work and I'll BBL. I have been walking the doggies at night which gets me some steps. Nothing like Ann's but I am trying to move a bit more. TTFN

Sue, I missed your post about Alaska. That is great to know. My brother and SIL did the Alaskan cruise, too and loved it. Do you remember what cruise line you went on? I think the cruise will be the best way for DH to go because if he is tired or doesn't want to go on a particular excursion he can relax on the ship and enjoy the sites. Your trip sounded great!

LOL Judy. I used to keep a list and when I had my nook I could keep the books I read separately which was a great feature. They don't have that on the Kindle paper white. I tried to jot them down in a notebook, but y'all know how that goes...I'm 'good' for awhile and then I slack off! I've never heard of grilled romaine and it doesn't really sound that good to me...not like shrimp scampi, that's for sure I too tire of salads. They say 'variety is the spice of life'. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it LOL. Also loving this perfect weather. Nice dry air and a breeze...what's not to love. I did all my chores and stopped at farmers market and Hannaford's. Now I'm ready to unplug, hit the screen room with my kindle. Talk tomorrow!

Good Afternoon, WW Friends ~
Happy Hump Day!! We had a beautiful sunny upper-70's afternoon. VBF and I sat on the patio at Mr. B's Roadhouse and had lunch. To add to the conversation about salads ..... we had a beef tenderloin chopped salad that was out of this world! Just a smidgeon of blue cheese and walnuts and some balsamic vinaigrette dressing. YUM!! So many salads, so little time. But I have to agree that I cannot imagine grilled romaine!
Pam ~ Yes, we went to the Waterford MJR Theatre 16 to see "Rocketman". There is another theater that is further away and more expensive, so we tend to frequent MJR. Also I have the app on my phone so it is easy to reserve tickets.
Judy ~ Oh yes, I remember! We sailed on Holland America in September of 2002. That was our first cruise ever and we had a fabulous time. We had stops in Juneau then Skagway then Ketchikan before returning to Vancouver. We left on Sunday and returned the following Sunday. I agree that cruising would be the easiest on your DH, for exactly the reasons you mentioned (he can sit on the ship instead of going ashore whenever he wants).
Ann ~ I have also tried to keep a list of the books I have read, but you know how time slips away?? Maybe someday I'll get it all together?? Besides, some of my books I forget how they end, so I reread them purposely.
DH just got home and we are going to chill out together for a while before taking our supper of turkey burgers, coleslaw and corn-off-the-cob out on the front porch for dinner.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Good morning all. Slept well and grateful for waking up refreshed. We are in for rain today. Carl is out walking Miss LuLa as I type We had plans with another couple tonight, but they fell through. Actually I was hoping for a nice quiet day so it works out well for me. LOL on the books, Sue. I too forget how they end, especially ones that are in a series. Your supper sounded great. Time to put the coffee on. Wishing AWF a great day. I'll CBL

Hi friends, Happy Thursday which feels like Friday to me. Not sure why. We have our staff work picnic tomorrow starting at noon so it'll be an early and short day. That'll be nice!
I stayed up late to watch the heartbreaking Stanley Cup finals and our witnessed our Bruins devastating loss. Well, the upshot is that they had a great season and the St. Louis Blues played a terrific game.
It is rainy as Ann said and I did bring my knitting to work on that at noon since I have already eaten my lunch. :-) I want to make some good progress on my baby blanket for the little nugget.
Your salad sounded great, Sue! I love the steak and blue cheese combo and as you said, you don't need much blue cheese to make it good. As far as the grilled Romaine, I probably did not give a good description. It was still cold but lightly charred on the outside and served with grilled chicken in what my lunch companions said was the best Caesar dressing they ever had. But, I did love the scampi!
Last night I made a WW dinner from Blue Apron - it was wonderful. It was a fish dish with grains and sweet peppers. The grains were freekeh. Very good! It was served over a tahini/plain yogurt spiced concoction that was spread across the plate, topped with the freekeh and then the fish. 9 pts.
I'll BBL. Have a good one, everyone!

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
We had terrific rains overnight and today it is still dreary outside with more rain predicted this afternoon and evening, and only a high in the low 60's. Tonight promises to dip down into the 40's. Today will be a good "stay indoors and read" day for me.
Last evening DH and I took a 15 minute walk before supper. That seems to be working best for us. We enjoyed our supper outdoors with sunshine and a slight breeze. I slept very well, despite hearing the pouring rain in the wee hours this morning. It didn't wake me at all.
It was all celebration at our house, as DH is a long-time Blues fan, so he is a happy camper!! He has been wearing his Blues shirts for over a week now and again today (of course). Sorry for the Bruins fans, but someone had to win. Our friend that lives in St. Louis remains a Red Wings fan (she is originally from Michigan) so he didn't even have her to celebrate with :-)
Tonight we are going out to DH's VBF's house to see the puppies (and dogs) and then we are all going to an Italian eatery north of his house (which is north of ours) so there will be four of us, making it a party. I will be conservative with my SP today as I will probably splurge a bit tonight. It is our first time there, so I have no idea what's on their menu??
I am very glad I had this week off completely, as I am still catching up. I talked with my GF (from my Red Hat group) about Saturday's outing which is a boat ride on the Detroit River. I have taken that ride in years past with DH and another couple. I would love to see all the changes to the riverfront. But that seems way too "out of touch" for me when DH's health is still foremost on my mind. He doesn't see the cardiologist until next Wednesday; and I would be uncomfortable. She understood and agreed with me, so I have decided to sit this one out. Better safe than sorry .....
BBL. Make a great day!!

Good Morning!
I realized I haven't posted for a day or so, though I have been reading your posts. This cold has dragged on for a full week and I am SO ready to kick it to the curb. Now, it's just sinus congestion and I finally got around to using the Neil-Med rinse this AM. I'm hoping that will get rid of the lingering symptoms.
Tuesday I attended our hospice team meeting, ran some errands and then came home to prepare for our RCIA meeting, which I hosted. I prepared a cheese plate with grapes and crackers as our snack. Everything went well, but DH was definitely ready for dinner, since it was almost 8:00 pm by the time everyone left.
Yesterday, I hauled my Senior Medicare Patrol stuff and a folding table to a town about 38 miles away for a TRIAD gathering. TRIAD is a law enforcement sponsored event that partners with entities that serve senior citizens to ensure they have information that keeps them safe and and secure. In addition to vendors, like SMP, there was a presentation on contractor fraud by the Secretary of State's office, insurance by the State Insurance Commissioner and a doctor talking about immunizations. There was live & recorded music by a one-man-show guy, lots of door prizes, a meal and bingo.
Contractor fraud is a problem here, and other places, after natural disasters like floods and hurricanes. They advised taking a selfie with your contractor, as well as pics of the job before & after, the contractors vehicle, contractor's license and vehicle license plate. It sounded like good advice to me.
I was so tired after I got home I tried taking a nap, but got interrupted by DH when he got home from errands. Attempted again later, but my phone rang. I did finally get about 20 minutes of light sleep, but felt tired all evening.
This morning, I washed, cut and froze 8 qts. and 1 pt. of corn. I finished too late to get into town for a hospice visit and an intake visit, so will do that this afternoon.
Wishing everyone a great OP day!

Judy I woke up thinking that today is Friday also. Must be something in that NE air LOL. Glad you took your knitting with you. The weather here right now is sunny with showers, go figure. I'm sure there is a rainbow somewhere...... I'm happy for the rain, as it provides the perfect excuse for me to stay home and stay put! Battling the implant and partial is very stressful...and add to that the pollen that has been blowing around. Oh well, this too shall pass! Glad you are enjoying your blue apron meals, Judy. Really do wish I liked fish. Unfortunately the only fish I really enjoy is deep fried Sue I fully understand you not wanting to venture far with DH not feeling himself. Enjoy your Italian meal out with friends. Are all the puppies placed? Pam you have been busy even when not feeling up to par. Hopefully you'll be able to kick back a bit today after hospice visit. Well, time for me to unplug and relax the rest of the day away. I do want to go to Hannaford's as they have baby back ribs on sale and Carl wants to cook those for Father's Day...what a guy preparing his own vittles LOL.

Ann ~ I had to LOL when you asked about the puppies. They are only 2 weeks old but are already advertised (complete with pics). But the funny thing was that I got a text that the mother took them outside yesterday and carefully placed them in a hole she had been digging (much to her dad's chagrin) outside the Sun Room. He texted me that "Sammy took the puppies on a picnic" then told me what happened. Too funny ...... Of course, he put them back in the whelping box inside the Sun Room.
I am now fully comfortable with my decision not to go Saturday since we would be so far away and out on a riverboat (no less) and no idea if we'll even have cell service. I fear I'd be on pins and needles, so best skip it this time. The good news is that DH continues to feel good, but I'm still leery.
I got the Summer Child Care schedule on my school email and printed both this morning. Someone used a color background on the rotation schedule and when I printed it, it was so dark I couldn't read it. A bit of investigation showed me how to remove the background, which I did successfully. So there's my "learn one new thing each day" item already taken care of <LOL>
I am going to have to forage for lunch. For someone who had a fridge FULL of leftovers and prepared dishes just a few days ago, it is amazingly empty now! We have used up everything we had and now I will have to start over. I'm doing some planning ahead because I signed up to work 3 days next week; and that will be more hours than I work at my regular job.

Wow Sue, you are going to be a busy little bee I also keep meals in the fridge and freezer prepared ahead of time to pull out and nuke or throw in the oven or crock pot or pressure cooker! Lately I've been having a blast with the Instant Pot. We have the 3 qt and just ordered the 6 qt and got the steamer basket and also the top to use it as a crock pot! I have the older ones all set up to donate They are getting tired, but still in good enough condition for someone else to use. I also had to LOL at the puppie story Thanks for sharing. I was reading it to Carl as well LOL. He enjoyed it also. We went to Hannaford's and picked up a chicken, pork loin roast and the baby back ribs. We made it back in time before the rain started up again. Hopefully it will stop long enough to get LuLa outside to do her business.....

Hello again! Nearly quitting time but I wanted to dash off a quick note after reading replies.
Sue, I agree with Ann. I don't blame you for skipping a long riverboat ride especially when it may cause anxiety. You wouldn't enjoy it and waiting a bit longer for DH's recovery to continue is a good idea. I'm glad your DH was happy about the Blues. We know the feeling and I'm sure the fans are ecstatic in St. Louis. My son whose dog is even named Bruin is very sad, but he'll get over it! Your puppy story is a riot. I wonder what the mama was thinking!
Ann, glad you love the instant pot. I love mine too and should pull it out again soon. Tonight is a chicken recipe with rice from Blue Apron WW. It looked really good. The secret with all of them is the wonderful sauces and seasonings they include. That makes the dish!
Pam, sorry your cold is still hanging on. You stay very busy no matter what and I really continue to be so impressed by all the good things you do for the community and your church. You sure are invested in the well being of your neighbors and community members. How lucky they are to have you there!
