Judy I love that the Instant pots are stainless. Much easier to clean with no funky smell. We are having fun with them. Oh I agree, sauces and seasonings really make a dish tasty.
Took a short hood walk. It's drizzling just enough to mess with the eye glasses.
Sleep well.

Good morning. It felt good to sleep in a bit. Today after a jaunt to the library and Ocean State Job Lot, I want to add a few more items to the donation box that lives in our trunk for when we hit a Salvation Army or Survival Center.
We never did get to sit in the screen room last night. It was just too damp and cool. Hopefully tonight will be better.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
TGIF!! I am having difficulty knowing what day it is as well. I also slept very well last night and actually got up on time this morning.
We went to the Red Devil in Holly last evening. When we got to DH's VBF's house, we found #2 son was home for a visit as well as the oldest female boxer (who had gone to live with him). Good to see them both! Seems he was coming Friday and staying until Saturday, but when his dad told him we were meeting for supper, he moved it up a day so he could see us. That just warms my heart!! We had a fabulous time. My DH is meeting the two guys for lunch today as well. The DD got to tell me all about her new job as a life-guard and the training she just underwent. Quite interesting indeed.
We had terrible rain storms all afternoon and evening yesterday, but when we started home from the restaurant shortly before sundown, we were shocked to see a bright vibrant sunset lurking on the western horizon!! It was so bright it colored some of the trees we passed as well as the eastern clouds. Today we have sunshine and hopefully it will warm up. It got quite cool last night, and I had to close the window. It was only about 50 when we got up this morning. Can this really be the middle of June??
I did want to thank all of you for your kind words and especially thoughts and prayers for my DH. When he had his procedure done, I told him he'd be amazed at how many wonderful people were praying for him. I am indeed very blessed to have the kind of friends I have, including my online friends. I am going to skip the riverboat trip and stick close to home. It just feels right; and all of your agreement has been very helpful indeed.
Today I need to grocery shop as well as do some meal planning, and perhaps some cooking?? But first I will wait for it to warm up, since it is still in the 50's with a predicted high in the low 70's.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Judy ~ Did you see my reply to you about the Alaskan cruise?? I still have the scrapbook sitting here in my den with me. That was the trip we also spent a week in Vancouver, with much sight-seeing and a trip to Whistler as well. I love having all those pictures together in one book. I am also making a fish and grain supper tonight, but grilled tilapia with (I don't know what yet)??
Ann ~ I haven't tried an Instant Pot. Is it the one like a Crockpot but a pressure cooker? I may look into it, as I love gadgets, but also have limited space to store them. I hear great things about them. Thank you again for continuing to pray for my DH. His recovery seems to be going well but we'll know more when he is seen by the Cardiologist next Wednesday.
Pam ~ You are certainly busy as usual. I do hope that cold gets out of there soon!! I know how miserable those can be and you seem to be doing all the right things and it should quit already!! I applaud your using the Neil-Med rinse. I find it so very helpful! One night just recently I suffered with one congested nostril during the night, so I used it the next morning along with both sprays and got instant relief.
Will check back later in the day.

Sue the instant pot is a pressure cooker steamer crock pot and does a lot of other things as well. Carl made eggs in them and said they were great. I hear you on space. I have the trunk of our vehicle loaded with things to be donated. The ones we have are the Instant Pot Duo series. What I really love is the fact that it's stainless steel and you can get parts for it as well. We ordered both 6 qt and 3 qt with the crock pot lids and steaming baskets. Wednesday praying that DH gets good results from the cardiologist. That's the day I go back to see my surgeon as well. Will try to pop in later on. It's pleasant but windy out there. I'm enjoying hearing our wind chimes

Hi all,
Yes, I love my Instant Pot, too. My co-worker makes yogurt all the time, too. I don't do that, but she raves about it. I mainly use the pressure cooker setting but should experiment with more. We have the largest one - not sure of capacity but probably 6 qt, Ann. My DD bought one as well. I also have the Instant Pot Cookbook by Gina from Skinny Taste. Great recipes!
Sue, yes, I did read all about your cruise and extended stay in Vancouver. Thank you for sharing that with us. The trip we are going on is with Princess Cruise line and one of their smaller ships - not that small, though since they are the "large" ships. Small enough to do well on the inside passage which we look forward to seeing. We are staying three nights at Denali park in a hotel, nights in Vancover in a hotel and one other hotel, I believe. The rest of the time is on the ship. We are really looking forward to it all next year. Your trip sounded fantastic. Alaska is something I have wanted to see all my life. We go in July/August 2020.
Today I bought concert tickets for a couple summer shows we want to see. One is the Mavericks and the other is Dwight Yokam. I've always liked his music and voice. They'll be at a smaller venue that seats a couple thousand max. Funny but yesterday someone showed me an old college newspaper from our small university here from 1974. Bruce Springsteen was playing on campus and tickets were $4!!! Those were the good old days and he was just getting started.
Tonight is book club and today is our staff work picnic so more fun events ahead.
Sounds like everyone is doing well and having fun. Sue, the boxers and your visits sound like great fun. Ann, I love wind chimes. So relaxing. Waving to Pam, too!

Judy enjoy the book club. Thanks for the thumbs up on the cookbook with skinny taste recipes. I can't be bothered making yogurt LOL...picking it up already made suits me just fine Enjoy the concerts and LOL to BS tickets being $4.00! It's a bit overcast here right now. We ran in town errands (always something to pick up) and will check the weather before attempting to walk Miss LuLa. Pam hope you are feeling better.

Good morning all. WE had plans to go see Rocket man today, but our friends DF was rushed to the ER after a fall. We'll reschedule and go at a later date. I did end up taking that walk last night, but it was very windy at times, so we cut it short. That pollen blowing around is brutal. Not sure what's on the agenda for today. Coffee will help me figure it out

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Saturday! I woke early this morning probably because we went to bed early last night. We were both tired and there was nothing appealing on TV, so it only made sense to just go to bed. I was able to leave the window open all night, but we slept with the quilt on as well. We have another grey dreary day only in the 60's, which is quite depressing.
We had grilled Tilapia last night with Uncle Ben's Ready Rice (w/black beans) and Green Giant vegetables. We got to eat outdoors which was a real treat! We took a walk before supper and increased our distance to twice around the complex. It feels like we're making progress. We used to be quite the walkers before DH began having hip problems and after his replacement and therapy, we just never got back to it.
Thanks for all the info about the Instant Pot. I will file it away until needed. Yesterday while Meijer shopping I wondered what the yogurt treats were that you were all talking about recently, but since I wasn't near my computer I couldn't look it up. But I did find some cups of Light & Fit Greek (80 cal) in Lemon and in Lime flavor and I scanned them with my phone and they are only 2 SP. So I got 2 of each. Were those the ones you all were talking about??
I thawed out a Sirloin Tip Pork Roast to put in the crockpot today for tonight's supper. That will yield me enough leftovers for a couple more meals. Tuesday and Thursday of next week I work until 6 or later at Summer Child Care so I will especially be looking for some ready-made meals. I was out of turkey burgers and found them at Meijer yesterday (B1g1F) so I bought two boxes and put in the freezer.
We had Bagel Thins with PB and banana for breakfast so we're all set for the day.
BBL. Make a great day!!

It's a little warmer out there than it was yesterday. Hopefully we'll be able to enjoy eating in the screen room.

Sue forgot to say the yogurt is the Dannon lite and fit yogurt. I love the lemon meringue Greek and also the vanilla coconut.

Ann ~ Thanks for the feedback on the yogurt. The word "Dannon" is so small on the label I didn't notice it <LOL>. My Lemon Meringue says "summer limited release" - and I also got the Key Lime because that is a favorite flavor of mine as well. Those were the only two flavors they had. They will come in handy for the days that I work at school, for afternoon snacks. I find it more difficult to stay OP when I'm away from home for longer periods, isn't that funny? Oh yes, I have some NSA cinnamon applesauce to have with the pork roast tonight, as well as some baby potatoes I brought home from DH's VBF's house. I'll probably add either limas or green peas.

Good evening to all!
I finally got my butt moving and walked today, as well as spending 45 minutes pulling weeds in flowerbeds. I am under 7500 steps, but still a great improvement. Rome wasn't built in a day, right? I also stayed OP with meals. DH and I had our multi-veggie taco salad for dinner. All in all, it was a good day.
Yesterday, I did a hospice visit and some paperwork for my supervisor who is on vacation, then ran some errands. I was very tired, for some reason, and headed to bed at 10:30, early for me. My VivoSmart showed I was low on REM sleep the night before and spent double the time in REM last night. I woke refreshed and ready to take on the day. I am finding this gadget quite fascinating, but still learning to operate it. I accidently turned off my step tracking in the middle of my walk today and had to start it again.
DH said since I had to cook for Mother's Day, he will grill burgers and sausage tomorrow. DD1 & DGDs & DD2 will come eat with us. DSIL & DGS will be working and DD2's new boyfriend will skip as he is still mourning the loss of his stepdad and didn't feel like he would be good company on Father's Day.
I ordered 4 new tops and some capris from Khol's. Half the order came within 2 days and the other half was supposedly delivered today, but was not. I'm hoping it shows up Monday.
Sue - Glad you found the Light & Fit. There are several "dessert" versions, but I can't always find them. My standbys are vanilla and coconut vanilla. I think you are wise not to get too far away from DH just now, for both of your peace of mind.
Ann - After the amount of sweating I did today, I am quite envious of your cool weather. We were a muggy 89. I hope your friend's father is okay.
Judy - Your Alaska cruise sounds perfect! That is on my bucket list.
I'm going to read a bit before bed. I just finished Every Breath by Nicholas Sparks. I think that was the first of his novels I ever read and I enjoyed it. I'm starting After Glow by Catherine Coulter. Good night!

Happy Father's Day all. Slept well and woke up to overcast sky. Will it rain today? Not sure. Will just play it by ear Pam I read that novel along with a few other Nicholas Sparks books...just don't ask me the names LOL. Glad you enjoyed it. I am not a fan on heat, so yesterday morning and evening were perfect to get out and walk or just enjoy. Haven't heard anything else on my friend's DD. Time for coffee and will CBL
