Good morning!
Gee, Phyl, hope you are able to get the spot off your block. Indeed, that is the hazard of quilting. The block that was giving me such a headache is called star amidst the squares, it has a simple square center, but the border of it is flying geese with a square in the middle. WHile the directions were great for the first paper piecing block, they were mere guesswork for this second block. Thankfully both blocks of that second design and now I am working on the first block (second color scheme).
Ruth- totally agree that construction truck toys are good to have and use now during summer weather. You are so thoughtful....
Ok, long day (and the last long day until fall) awaits me. Gotta go get myself up and started. Ginny

Well dh had to take a nap before we went out so we got a late start but we're home now and errands and shopping are done. Now I only have to go out to pick up my truck and take it to the Honda dealer. In the email I got from them today it looks like they're going to try to charge me for this diagnostic testing. Saleswoman said they would take care of it back when I first told her about the problem so hopefully that will stand. The service person also told me, after all this, that he knows nothing about Honda's so he doesn't even know if what he told me is true or not. So I'm just going to take it to Honda and let them start from the beginning and test it themselves. I hope they know more what they're doing and this man, nice as he seemed.
I saw and interesting thing yesterday and has to do with crafting in a round about way. As you know, people sell and give their patterns free on Ravelry so I understood it was a crafting site..mostly knitting and crocheting. So I went there to look for a pattern and low and behold the opening page was a political speil. Made me angry.
I did do some crafting this morning before leaving. Finished the bath pouf and wove in ends on the other spa items

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ginny - Hope you survived that long day yesterday. Ruth - I hope the Honda place will be helpful to you and not charge you (much) for the diagnostics. Phyl - Hope you enjoy your quilt guild meeting. It was hot and humid here yesterday, so I just didn't feel like doing much and didn't post on the message board either - some days I just don't have the energy. I did crochet a few rows on the shawl. This whole week is supposed to be hot and humid, so I guess I won't be doing much. I do have to go out one day and run some errands, I thought I'd go today, but then I had trouble getting to sleep last night and slept late this morning. I don't like to go out when it get later in the day because the traffic gets much worse. There was a car accident outside the house next to mine yesterday, the cars were pretty smashed up and they did take one person in an ambulance. I feel bad to say it, but I was just happy it wasn't in front of my house and didn't affect my mailbox. I get tired of picking up all the glass that seems to end up in my driveway. I'm going to be petty too and say I was irritated to see the tow truck drivers sweeping the crash debris up to the curb - they never do that when the accident is in front of my house Take care everyone!

CJ, yes when it's hot and also humid it's hard to do anything. Yesterday the humidity here was 18%. I don't know what it s here today but we are to have a week of about 90 degree weather but that's not so hard to deal with when you have low humidity like we do.
I was outside this morning working on the area right behind our house..up against it in fact. A lot of weeds really grew well because of the rain we've had so had to get rid of those. After that I was ready to rest so I did but after resting a short time I did some trimming around borders in the front. There is so much more to do!
I also started a crochet baby sweater.t his pattern writer is another that needs to learn the correct terms for what she's telling people to do. It made no sense so luckily she did a video which showed several things entirely different from what she had written. The bad thing is that she didn't make her video long enough...some people make them go on and on and on but in this one it certainly needed to be longer. I'll see what happens but may need to abandon this one. Too bad if I do because it's a really cute sweater.I finished up another hat before doing the dreaded yard work

Good evening....
Ok, GInny really dislikes this weather, but is super thankful for airconditioning.
Ruth, sounds like you have a glimmer of hope with the honda dealership, at the very least a person with a brain, Best of luck with that, I hope it all works out for you. Gee, are the bath poufs hard to make? What yarn do you use? (There is that special knobby yarn made for that kind of project).Who is the baby sweater for??What color are you using? Glad there was a video to help you make sense out of the designers poorly written directions. And you are brave, working outside in the heat. Even with no humidity, 90 is hot. And when you finish your weeding, please come help me with mine! (Ha ha ha).
CJ- nope, noone will judge you for being thankful that the accident was not in front of your house! Glad you had no property damage, and also that even those who were injured do not seem to be serious injuries. Yes we are in for a hot and humid week. Its 79 here right now, and I do not consider that nice weather for 8 pm. Hope you can sleep well tonight....perhaps you will to make up for a restless evening last night.
Phyl- what a shame that the directions and the picture of the table topper did not coordinate with each other! Hope its all straightened out now and you can move on and finish the project. Is it for your home or a gift? Enjoy guild tomorrow! I agree, 3 - 4 hours cooped up in one place would bug me too. What project are you bringing with you?
Went to my first guild meeting today....I could not stay for the whole thing, but got a taste of it. Seems like a nice bunch of women and they seem to get along pretty well with each other. So I will count that as my crafting for the day. Had to leave guild early for babysitting. Am babysitting again tomorrow am only.
Yes I noted the editorial comment on Ravelry- found it very disappointing that they could not keep politics out of the crafting world. GInny

Ginny, well it wasn't 90 today thankfully and there was a nice breeze. I wanted to get that done before the 90 degree days.Sounds like you enjoyed the guild meeting. Is this something you'll attend on a regular basis now?
Everytime I start to type I forget what I was going to say and I keep forgetting that the first couple days of the week we're still on page one so I can look back. CJ, I intended to say that no all of us would be happy not to have an accident happen right in front of our house. You've had enough problems with that mailbox staying intack. As as for feeling angry that they picked up all the debris now that it's someone else's house and didn't when it was yours, I've had a similar experience with out snowplow company doing a neighbor's driveway and not mine. They're only hired to do streets and get paid by HOA money so they shoujldn't be doing a private driveway and if they do it should be for those of us that are the most elderly and/or disabled instead of a healthy couple who can well afford to hire their own plowing people. And I hope you'll be able to sleep well tonight.
Well I figured out the math for this sweater so was able to get it started and the same measurements on both sides. It's a cardigan type so needs to be even. From this point on it will not be hard....I don't think anyway. The first part, which is the yoke, is nearly done
Phyl, I don't know if I mentioned that I hope you will have a good day at sit and sew. I wouldn't want to sit a long time either. When I attended Caps for Kids meetings we met for about and hour and a half. I hope all goes well with the new table topper.
I sure agree about the political issue on that site. I don't know why anyone would be discussing politics on a crafting site.
Sue I hope you're doing ok. Meg and Betty, It would be great to hear from you and hear what crafting projects you're working on if any.

Happy Wednesday all!!
Just writing that was a good reminder to me, as I was unsure what day it was only a few hours ago. My week has been a bit out of sequence, hence the confusion.
Ruth, a nice breeze can make all the difference in the world if its not too oppressively hot! You are quite talented, being able to do all the figuring of the pattern so that it works. I emailed a moderator at Ravelry gently explaining how I felt, lets see what happens.
Super tired here....think I am going to take a nap- look at the Herrschners catalog when I lay down. Ginn

Hello Crafters Ginny - Is that a daytime quilt guild meeting? I'm glad you enjoyed it. I sure would like to get involved in a guild again, but I only want a daytime meeting one and all the ones around me meet at night. When I was in one years ago it was fun to have speakers come in and participate in special workshops, and also see the quilts other members had made. Ruth - I'm sure it felt good to get rid of those weeds, I have some I need to pull too. I'm glad you figured out the sweater too. I went grocery shopping today and ran a few errands and was glad to get home. My knees were hurting by the time I was done bringing in the groceries and putting them away. I need to keep working at getting some of this weight back off so hopefully I stop that happening as much. They feel better after I rested some this afternoon. It's hot here today, but not humid. The next few days are supposed to be humid though, so I'm glad I won't have to go out anywhere. Take care everyone!

I don't know what I did but somehow managed to delete my message so here goes again Ginny, I'm sure sorry to hear that you are so tired. I hope you had a good nap and will be able to have a relaxing evening and sleep well tonight. I wasn't sure of the day either until you mentioned it and then dh mentioned it too because our garbage pickup is Thurs and he reminded me that we needed to pick up the weeds and put them into the bin.
Cj, so sorry about your knees hurting. Yes weight can sneak back on us easily. I'm glad you got your grocery shopping completed and errands done so that you don't have to go out in the heat as well as humidity and you will also be able to rest your knees.I don't go to anything that's held at night either. Not for safety's sake like I think is your reason but because I can't see well at night and don't want to put anyone's life at risk
I went out today too. Went to pick up the truck. The only thing they ended up doing was disabling the alarm system the previous owner put on the truck. I asked them to do that because that prev owner said his problems started after that was installed. I kind of doubt that's going to take care of everything but sure would be nice. After picking up weeds I'm now sitting and crocheting on the sweater. The main part won't take long but then there's the sleeves, a hood, and all the edging and plackets but it's really cute and I may make more. At least I'll have it on my list. I would post a link but can't get that to work right now

Good evening,
CJ, it sounds like your weather has been hot but not too unbearable. Hope that you’re able to stay comfortable in the air-conditioning and I do hear that the humidity supposed to go up.
It’s too bad that there are no guilds near you that meet during the day. I agree going out at night can be uncomfortable and especially if you’re tired. Hope that your knees improve, and that you are able to takeoff a few pounds so that they’re not as uncomfortable for you.
Ruth, glad you’re able to figure out the sweater and get some work done on it. I’m curious to see how this pattern works out and if you will make another sweater using it.

Let’s see if turning that alarm off helps, you never know, and electrical wiring can be a challenge to work with. It would sure be nice if it solves the problem!

I finally got my haircut! I'm going to have to was my hair because whatever she put on it has a scent. I didn't notice until I got home.
I saw the political unpleasantness on Knitting Paradise which referred back to Ravelry. Unbelievable. Tomorrow is quilting, another venue that is filled with vituperative statements. I hope tomorrow will be quieter than usual. Our dear friend died on Sunday night. She was the epitome of dignity and grace, and I hope there will be a more respectful morning.

Sue, congrats on the haircut!!! Too bad that you are not able to enjoy the look of just being pampered too long, you would think that hair salons offer or use scent free products. Anyway, congrats on being pampered a bit. Hope you can enjoy quilting today! I had no idea that the crafting world was so filled with individuals who are so consumed with their own political agenda that they cannot enjoy sharing their talents without shooting off their mouths.
My condolences on the loss of your dear friend. Yes, out of respect for her and the positive impact she made on this world by showing dignity and grace, I hope that it is a peaceful meeting.
