I earn money. 6am to 1pm 13 dollars an hour and before each election day a training before each Election Day. paid for each training too. I get to go home to watch the election results on television . They don't take taxes out.if that's the only income during the year.

amyrs, glad you are able to work at the polls. It helps you with earning some additional money plus it is a form of giving back to your community as well.

Could someone tell me why progress is so scary to some people. What's so terrifying about progressive ideas?
I don't get it. We'd still be riding in a stage coach instead of an airplane, reading by candlelight, getting up to change the channel, drinking coffee from a cup intead of a mug, and washing our clothes in the river, if it wasn't for progress.
Why are some people so afraid of moving forward? Anybody know?

birdgal, honestly, look at the ones who fight progress the hardest (at least at the political level): older, straight, white, men, with a tenuous grip on power -that's it. They know their grip is slipping and anything that "upsets their apple cart" scares the crap out of them because they might lose power. These are the ones with the "women never should have left the June Cleaver 'stay at home, greet them with a drink, mother' and nothing more" attitude.

DotRen , good point! I think you hit that target straight in the center bulls-eye. On a hopeful note this morning, do you think Walsh and "the Mooch" can do enough damage to the JA to help bring him down and keep him from winning in 2020? I think it's definitely a possibility. I'm happy Walsh is going to run against him. I don't think anyone is going to take the nomination away from him, but I do think it's possible that they can inflict a lot of damage among those who are not devotees of the "tRump cult". At least I am hoping that's the case. My fingers and toes are both crossed on this one! Hope! Hope! Hope! "President Donald Trump has floated multiple times the idea of thwarting hurricanes headed for the US by bombing them, including by dropping nuclear bombs on hurricanes to disrupt their course, Axios reported Sunday, citing conversations with sources who heard Trump's comments and were briefed on a National Security Council memo that recorded the comments." -- Devan Cole Honestly you just can't make this stuff up! He wants to drop nukes on hurricanes?!! How is it possible to be that stupid? www.cnn.com/2019/08/26/politics/donald-trump-nuclear-bombs-hurricanes/index.htmlBy the way, what's with all the meme pictures I'm seeing on FB this morning with a sullen JA and Melania gazing into the eyes of Trudeau? LOL! (At least I think it is Trudeau as you can only see the back of his head in the pictures I'm seeing. Maybe it's Macron.)

Whenever he says "all these people" or "numerous people" agreed with him, I want 1 reporter to say "name 1" hahaha because you know no one agreed with him!

Just when you think this JA can't embarrass the US any further on the world stage than he already has, he proves that he has no limit to his ability to be outrageous and uncouth.
Also since hearing about world leaders (Kim Jong Un in particular) qualifies as "getting to know them," does that mean that we should all be able to hold ourselves out as authorities on them too? And one would think that even people in this WH could come up with stories that are at least halfway believable, but no evidently that's asking too much. Why not just say "he did not want to attend the climate change meeting?" We all know he didn't want to attend it because he didn't want to be criticized. Why insult us and the rest of the world by offering up a lie that he was in a meeting with Germany and India when pictures show that both Germany and India were in the climate change meeting. If you're going to lie, why lie so stupidly?

Too tired of it all to even complain. LOL! Maybe that's his strategy lani. He is just going to get us all so exhausted we can't struggle anymore. I know there are many days I feel just that exhausted about the whole thing.

Just as long as we're not too tired to vote! Absentee ballot here: easy-peasy.
