Good morning all. Wonderful weather day to wake up to 46 degrees!!!!!! It never did reach the 80's yesterday which was fine by me.
Today will be spent extremely low key. Will wait to hear what time I need to 'appear' for surgery. Praying that it will be an early appt.
Take care all......

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Monday!! We woke to cool temps this morning and the gentle song of our wind chimes on the front porch. So peaceful!! Some of our area schools went back today, but I have another two weeks off, which I will thoroughly enjoy!
I had a Michigan salad yesterday for lunch with grilled chicken and FF raspberry vinaigrette and steamed pita. It was delicious and so summery. It is another of those things that will go off menu when the season changes. Last evening DH got Subway roll-ups of turkey, bacon and guacamole. I only ate half, so stayed within my SP for the day, even with a Kroger LF NSA fudge bar (3 SP) for snack. They had been out of them the past few weeks, so when DH saw 2 boxes left he bought them both. Thank goodness for our big freezer downstairs.
This week looks very peaceful. I have a lunch with some GF tomorrow; and my lunch with my work partner got moved to Wednesday. I also still need to shop at Meijer and at Costco, most likely on two different days. I also need to get my nails done later in the week. Otherwise I will be spending some quality time reading. I finished a very good book yesterday and have a new one ready to start.
Ann ~ Thinking about you and praying for you this week.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Good morning!
The laundry is going, but not much else this morning. I slept in until 8:00 and it felt so good! DH made us oatmeal with blueberries and dried persimmons for breakfast and we will have stir fry with the leftover pork for dinner. Not sure yet what lunch will be, but I'm leaning towards a PB2 & SF Jelly sandwich at the moment. I do have some leftover chicken that could go in a salad. I may see if I can persuade DH to use that for the stir fry and then we can have BBQ pork on a bun made with the leftover pork tomorrow. We'll see.
I could go to gentle yoga at 11:00, but since I will have to go back to town this afternoon for my caregiver support group, I may opt to skip it and go to the 5:30 class with the other instructor. I will need to pick up milk on my way home unless DH finds some reason to go to town today and picks it up.
I met my goal on steps yesterday and then some. I also got a good bit of the flower beds weeded. My Vivo tells me to get up and move every hour, so I would walk the driveway a couple of times and then weed a bit. It worked! It helps that we have a long driveway.
It's 83 and humid with afternoon thunderstorms predicted. I am jealous of your cool temps!
Sue - What are you reading? I love book recommendations.
Ann - I'm sure your anticipation of further surgery is stress-inducing, so you are wise to have a calm day. Please know that you are in my prayers.
Judy - Waving! I hope things are not chaotic at work, as I assume your boss is off today. Attending visitation will make your day longer. How is your DH's hand doing?

Thank you for prayers and well wishes. I am out of the shower and jammified. Such a beautiful day. I'd walk but too many people are out and about and I need/crave my solitude.
Take care.

Need to be at the hospital tomorrow at 8:30. Donna insists on coming with us and her parents will take care of LuLa. We are so blessed! Will get back online when I'm able.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Tuesday! Yes, I had to check with my computer for what day it is. We decided to order Jet's Pizza last night since it is our favorite "go-to" brand and they were running an anniversary special of 41% off for 41 years in business. I called and ordered it, and even so DH had quite a wait when he got there. A lot of people were walking in off the street and ordering and choosing to wait for their pie. It is a very small store-front, only set up for pick-ups, so it was chaos. But he got our pizza and we were happy. While he was gone to pick it up, I tossed a small salad for each of us and it made a delicious supper!! The Strawberry Waffles and turkey sausage patties got pushed back to tonight. So that decision is made.
Ann ~ You are certainly in my thoughts and prayers today. Looking forward to hearing from you when you're up to it!
Pam ~ I just finished reading a book called "Alex" by Irish Winters. It is first of a series about former military snipers - only it is also a love story. It has lots of twists and turns in the lives of both the main characters, and I enjoyed it very much. I doubt I'l order the whole series as I tend to burn out when I do that. But maybe later on another one will cross my daily selection from Early Bird Books or BookBub, who knows?
We had a power outage in the middle of the night. I was sleeping through it but DH woke me up. I took my phone off the charger and used the DTE App to notify them. They responded that it would be fixed by 4-something this morning. That quieted my concern about morning coffee <LOL> Before we got back to sleep, the power came back on, so I got up and set the clock and checked on the coffee maker, etc. I just got back in bed when there came an awful noise from the basement and it went on and on. I checked the water softener and it was ready to recharge, but that certainly doesn't make that kind of noise (like a bear growling in the basement). Finally DH went down and discovered it was the Radon Remediation unit, which he unplugged and plugged back in and the noise stopped. That was enough excitement to get us both wide awake and I was forever getting back to sleep, and then I didn't really sleep well. It will be a long day.
I got my energy going yesterday and went Costco shopping, then came home and unloaded and put everything away. Then I went to Meijer and did my long list shopping there. It took longer because I had an odd mish-mash of things on my list (like Seasoned Rice Vinegar, and BelVita biscuits, and toilet bowl cleaner, and toothpaste, and ..... well you get the idea). Kind of like no two things that were in the same section let alone the same aisle. But I got 'er done and now it's all behind me.
Today I am meeting some GFs from my Red Hat group for lunch. Our humidity has returned and is 90% this morning so even though the temp is mild (in the low 70's) it feels heavy. The high today will be 82, so I think the A/C may be coming back on later on. We'll see ..........
BBL. Make a great day!!

Hi all,
Ann, I'm holding you in my thoughts and prayers today for another successful surgery. Please let us know how you made out and thank goodness for such great friends as those who go with you and who take little Lula when you need that help. Despite the bad stuff in the news, most people are so good. I know I sound like Anne Frank, but she was right.
Sue, ooh that means our humidity will be back soon as well. You got a lot accomplished and I hear you on a mishmash of aisles to negotiate at the grocery and loads to do. Your pizza sounded good and great to get a deal. You've mentioned Jet's a lot so I am sure it a great place! Glad you have two weeks off coming up...heavenly! I am now in a Red Hat group and am invited to a dinner at a new downtown place next week, but I can't make it. However, I'm glad to be a part of the group and will look forward to future gatherings.
Pam, how is the yoga saga going? Has it calmed down? I relate to drama - sometimes it is all around us and we have to tune it out. :-) My DH's hand is much better now that he is on the gout meds. PHew. At least it was the best of the bad diagnoses he could get. He is feeling better, but we were both exhausted last night. I fell asleep in front of the TV by 8:15 for a bit, woke up, made my lunch for today (my effort to get more organized) and went to bed by 10. I had my WW meeting this morning and surprise, surprise, I lost 2.5 lbs since my last visit. Despite eating out and overindulging at times, I managed to lose ad I attribute that to being around 2 and 5 year olds for two weeks! It felt good to make a meeting and be back on track. Good to see the 7:30 AM group as they are so welcoming.
I went to the college President's annual reception after work last night welcoming the fall and all the faculty/staff back. I opted not to go to the calling hours as they were 50 miles away. It would have added a long ride to my day alone, and I think if it had been my boss's dad or mom or immediate family, I'd have gone for sure, but a MIL is a little different, I think.
All for now and I shall return! :-)

Good morning!
I can still say morning, 'cause it's still 5 minutes to noon, lol. I haven't accomplished much today, even though I put on my walking shoes a couple of hours ago. I will suffer in the heat and humidity, but that's my punishment for lolly-gagging so long. I did get my calendars updated and synchronized. I keep both paper and online calendars and still sometimes manage to miss something I was supposed to do. Most recently, it was DSIL's birthday on Saturday. I did get to wish him a Happy Birthday on facetime and assure him "the card is in the mail". We just give cash most of the time as it's easier and he can always use more golfing supplies.
Thinking of Ann and hoping all went well. I am so glad their friend offered to go and be with her DH. The waiting for someone in surgery is awful enough without being left by yourself. I am sure Donna felt she was returning their kindness and didn't mind at all.
I haven't heard of any drama since Tonya's terrible email to Teri, threatening to report her as unlicensed (no license is required in LA) and legal action (no grounds). Since I was on vacation, I have missed several yoga classes. I went to Terri's class last evening, but opted not to go into town in the morning for Tonya's class making two trips. I will go to Tonya's class at 4:30 today, but don't know how long I will continue with this class. It is in an open room at a fitness club and people coming in for a 5:30 fitness class make a lot of noise which completely destroys my mood, especially during savasana, the rest period at the end of a yoga session. I am also disappointed that the gentle yoga classes at 11:00 am, which are quieter, are a little too gentle for me. I may opt to drop all of Tonya's classes except for gentle yoga on Friday, since it's the only available class that day. That would give me 3 sessions per week at $36 which is manageable. Teri is the better instructor and her classes are more challenging for me. I doubt that Tonya knows I am attending these classes and things may go south if she finds out. Teri knows I attend both and is fine with it. I am staying out of all of it. I just want to do yoga.
My Alzheimer's caregiver support group met yesterday, postponed a week due to my vacation. We had 4 people, which is about usual. Three were helping to caregive for their moms and I so wish their dads would come. Both men are getting on in age and the stress of being caregivers is weighing heavily. When you're in the middle of it, it's hard to clear your head enough to know you need a break. I remember those days with my mom.
Well, time for me to get moving. Dinner will be Salsa Verde Chicken Soup and whatever Mexican-style stuff DH comes up with. I will eat what fits my plan and leave the rest. The scale is steadily moving down and I don't want to sabotage myself.
Sue - Thanks for the book tip! Enjoy your lunch out, then sneak in a short nap.
Judy - I'm glad your DH's hand is better. Getting older can be scary sometimes.

Hi All, Speaking of books, I was disappointed that my relatively new Kindle Paper White (1.5 years old) no longer works. I have treated it very well, but the touch screen is "dead". It powers up and even with a fully charged battery, it doesn't work. I was online with an Amazon rep for a while who wanted me to restore factory settings via a bunch of instructions on the computer but then I will lose all my books, etc. So, instead I guess I am opting to get a new Kindle since mine is two years old and no warranty in place now. I can get a 25% discount and another $20 to turn in the broken one. I'll get the newest Paper White and hope for the best. A Kindle is one thing I cannot live without. I do read hardcover/library books and paperbacks, too but love the convenience of the Kindle.
Tonight is my monthly dinner with friends at the 99. We'll sit and catch up for a few hours!
See you all later, and Pam, Tonya would have a lot of nerve to be mad if you attend another yoga class. Like you said, all you want to do is go to yoga. She needs to learn professionalism and customer service. :-)
I hope Ann is faring well. Hugs to you, Ann.

Good Afternoon, WW Friends ~
Ann ~ It was so good to hear from you. If you're stopping at Outback, you must be feeling okay?? You will still remain in my thoughts and prayers. Take care!!
Judy ~ So good to hear that your DH's hand is better. You're right, of course, that the lesser of all evils is definitely better. This aging process is not for the faint of heart, not at all. Congrats on joining a Red Hat group! I really do appreciate mine. I do things with them that I otherwise may not do. In fact, we had lunch today - no purple or red hats - just the four of us at a new place we wanted to try. One of us still works, so we scheduled it around her lunch break. I can't wait to hear what fun things you all do! I am sorry that your Kindle died - but my books are all stored on my Amazon account, so if I had to ditch my Kindle I could download them to another device. In fact, when my Kindle became very unpredictable about charging, I installed the Kindle app on an old tablet and my books switched over to there without any trouble. Just a thought if it helps.
Pam ~ So much drama about your yoga class! I think that would defeat the whole purpose of yoga?? Hopefully you'll navigate those troubled waters and stick to getting what you need out of it. GFY for being such an advocate for caregivers - a group who usually don't get enough support or recognition.
I enjoyed my lunch with GFs very much and we sat and visited for a while after our working gal had to return to work. Then I took myself down the street and perused a Salvation Army store that I haven't been to in quite a while. I usually find *something* there and today was no exception. I found a really cute summer top that was even cuter when I tried it on - and a hefty coffee mug - both of which came home with me. For some reason that just tickles me.
Strawberry waffles and turkey sausage for supper. YUM!! It is almost hot enough for the A/C but I'm still stubbornly enjoying the breeze. I just LOVE fresh air!!

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Hump Day!! We have another beautiful day on tap with a predicted high only in the mid-70's. My windows are open and the wind chimes are sounding beautiful!! We slept with the window open last night and the humidity dropped during the night so there was a breeze and it was wonderful.
Ann ~ Hope you are feeling better and regaining your strength. It was good to see that you posted this morning.
DH was up early and out the door, so I got started on my day. I have ordered a new cover for my tablet (as the one I have on it was a hand-me-down and is wearing out). I went on Amazon and found exactly what I wanted (it will be here Friday) and also downloaded a new book from BookBub; and while I was at it I applied for my Amazon VISA card. They have been offering for a while, but I was in the process of cleaning out my wallet and cancelled a couple of cards that I don't use. I wanted to replace my only VISA card, but still keep one and this was the perfect chance. I also got a $70 gift card for future purchases. Productive morning!!
I had a lunch date today that got cancelled at last minute, so I will take full advantage of it. I am thawing some meats to grill as I am out of lunch makings for DH, and planned supper for tonight. I have some Pasta Roni Fettuccine Alfredo, so I will add some shrimp and make a side salad and call it done. Then I can start a new book this afternoon. Meanwhile, I am doing a bit of laundry and hand wash. Always something ......
BBL. Make a great day!!
