Sadly, he can't make a simple speech without embellishing it to make it about him. I'm surprised he didn't say he was the one who dropped the bomb. Or was in the tunnel himself. You know, because he's "the greatest" (no offense to Muhammad Ali).

You know, because he's "the greatest" (no offense to Muhammad Ali). Yeah, we know he would have run into the Marjorie Stoneman school shooting the minute he heard shots fired even without a gun. He told us so, and he never lies.

Oh boy, I haven't been paying attention here. Missed a few days and missed the troll. There was a troll I know, but she can't post here anymore. Banned a while back.
Trump's speech Sunday morning just disgusted me. So much about him. The news cycle is wearing me down, plus our life is ... wearing me down a bit and making me ornery. My DH just had a big MOHS surgery and I'm the bandager - very challenging. Just add it to our year of a gazillion medical issues. Some good news is I'm really doing well tracking and sticking to the WW points system. Now if my scale could just get the message that I need to see a drop, however small, every week. First week was great, then a gain, despite following the plan 100%.
I listened to some of the speeches at Cummings' service. Wonderful to listen to our former leaders who can deliver a good speech. It disgusted me to see Rep.Jim Jordan chewing gum like a cow chewing its cud. I guess Hillary and Chelsea got a big welcome for their book event in CT.
So on the long shot chance that Trump is impeached and thrown out, what does everything think of Pence? And the 2020 election - would Pence be the candidate? I'm guessing other Republicans would throw their hats in the ring too?

conniefromct , hope your DH heals well and quickly. If your DH is like most, they're not the easiest to deal with when they're not feeling well. Sending good "vibes" your way! Congratulations on sticking to the plan so well. I am terrible! In fact I just stopped at the grocery store and bought the ingredients for a creamy crockpot soup that is about as far off plan as you can get, but sounds really good for cold weather which is supposed to be headed our way. It's 63* out there right now, but tomorrow night it's supposed to get down to 27*! As for Pence, if by some miracle the JA is kicked out of office or resigns I don't think Pence has much chance of being the GOP nominee. I think the GOP is sticking by Trump right now because they're afraid not to, but if that changes Pence will be out as soon as his term is over, IMHO. Which is fine with me, as while Pence may not be quite as corrupt as Trump, he is a slimy hypocrite who is in it only for himself just the same.

nashville11 , DotRen , Thanks for the well wishes. My DH is fine about this but I wish I had been in the room getting tips on doing the bandage instead of out in the waiting room, assuming since it was on his face, he would handle the bandaging! My, I can't believe how ornery I can be, and it's just hating my own feelings of inadequacy. He's on blood thinners AND this is the second removal of the same spot, so I'm concerned. And he has CLL (leukemia) that is taking it's sweet time improving since he started on a med for it. He's a complicated guy, what can I say. But mostly good natured, which is GREAT!! nashville11, your soup sounds wonderful!! I have a few recipes like that. Throw in the tortellini and cream cheese, here I come! Yes, I agree, Pence is slimy.

conniefromct, come on down. I'm making the soup tomorrow, and it uses pierogies and cream cheese. Yummy!

tomorrow I start over after today a miserable eating day. I was hungry and in my best friend Scott's apartment just above me. Barbecue chips a big giant bowl and 2 scoops of ice-cream although no sugar added. Dems are debating the rules of the impeachment inquiries next with Republicans.

conniefromct , adding my best wishes and speedy healing for DH. Kudos for consistent tracking - the scale will budge soon
It's hard to imagine more than a few GOP senators voting for impeachment but, if Pence were to ascend, it might be the shortest term in history.

Do any of you think there's any chance that today's vote won't go strictly along party lines? I would really like to see it not, but I am expecting that it will.

Another Fox "News" reporter is leaving and going to CBS, Catherine Herridge. She says "facts matter." I wonder do those who continually drink the Fox Kool-Aid notice these defections and the reason for them at all, or are they just completely oblivious to it?

Just wondering, how do these Republicans in Congress get up and look at themselves in the mirror each morning? Hypocrites and cowards every single one.
