Pam that is a long trip. I don't ride well, so long travels bother me. Glad that you are back home and feeling refreshed I bet it feels good to be back home again. Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home Enjoy that coffee in your own chair LOL. Nice that you have lo's to enjoy at a later time. I'm thinking of meat sauce over pasta mixed with zoodles for supper. I can't do just the zoodles and I'm not fond of spaghetti squash, so this mix works for me. Carl is going to mow our lawn for the last time, put it away and get the snow blower up an runnin' for the season. We will also make a quick trip to Walmart as once again I forgot a few items. Love it when I make a list and leave it behind!!!!!

Ready to head home after a long day at work. We had weekend plans with friends, but she's developed a kidney infection and wanted to switch the dinner to Sunday at the Cape but that won't work for us as I have to work Monday and I don't want to hang around until Sunday night. They are retirees. So, we'll reschedule. Meanwhile, DH is trying to bribe me to head down there tonight...lol...by the offer of a dinner in Woods Hole at a really nice restaurant on the water. He's cute. I will probably cave in and go since I don't have to drive. I'd like to curl up and sleep but sometimes you gotta compromise.
Pam, thanks for the tip on Benadryl for Shingrix. I never knew that. The symptoms are gone now for the most part. But, i felt like I was getting the flu last night. And, yes, that California real estate is nutty. My DD's neighborhood in "Google-land" Palo Alto/Los Altos has nice, but not super luxurious homes all appraised and selling for over $3 million. Nuts. Some of her older neighbors told her what they paid back in the day and it's mind boggling re: their profits, but most plan to stay put because they love CA. I think it only works to cash in a bunch if you plan to leave like your cousin did. Lucky her! Otherwise, you're faced with the same high prices in the Bay area. I sincerely hope it does not happen everywhere. Boston is very expensive now but still not on a par with S.F.
Pam, you will drop that apple pie and ice cream/wine weight fast, I know. Amazing how easy it is to gain and how hard to lose.
Ann, glad you are getting your hood walks in. I need to move more and that's my mantra for the weekend.
Sue, have a great weekend. I think you said it was a Red Hat event. I still want to get to see Downton Abbey at the movies!
TTFN...I'll be in touch over the weekend. Judy

Ann, zoodles and cauliflower rice don't cut it for me, either. I don't like them. I have tried. I would rather have less of the real stuff.

LOL Judy. The only way that I enjoy cauliflower rice is when I add it to my veggie soup. It 'fakes me out' thinking that I'm eating either rice or cauliflower I won't even TRY cauliflower crust pizza.....I'd be afraid that my ancestors would come to me in a dream beating me with wooden spoons LOL. But whatever....we are all different. Judy I would most definitely go to Woods Hole to a nice dinner at a fab restaurant. Sounds like a win win to me. Feel better. Man it's gotten cold out. I had to add a sweater under my light weight jacket! It is supposed to warm up. The no sun today really made it feel extra raw out there. The 'foodie gods' were on my side. The zucchini that I picked up wasn't 'up to snuff' so we just had pasta. I had less of it but it was very good. Time to relax.

Well, I finally crawled out of my lazyboy in late afternoon and managed to get my biggest flower bed weeded. I guess that's okay for the day after vacation, right?
I'm in the "real stuff, smaller portion" crowd. I prefer real angel hair pasta and brown rice. I will allow DH to sub eggplant slices for lasagna noodles, though. He breads the eggplant slices and browns them in the oven and then uses them instead of noodles. I love his eggplant lasagna!
Judy - You've gotta let them win now and then and a romantic dinner out sounds good to me. It does look like the weather at the Cape may be a little wet this weekend, though.
I am again asking for your prayers. My DSIL's grandmother, who has been a blessing to the kids and a great friend to us, had a colonoscopy Tuesday. I was a little anxious when she explained to me Saturday that her hemoglobin has been steadily dropping, which I know is not a good sign. Sure enough, the doctors discovered a mass. She will have further tests and then they will decide on a treatment plan. So say a prayer for Marge, please. She is the type of person who will hear the kids talk about needing patio furniture and then have a set delivered, because she says she would rather give them their inheritance now, while she can see them enjoy it, than wait until she's dead. One day, DD3, at home with a newborn, was saying they really needed the windows washed and the following Monday, a window washing company called to set up an appointment courtesy of Marge. She never leaves home without her hair done, makeup on and stylish clothes. I love her and wish her the best and appreciate any prayers you can offer.

Pam lots of prayers going up for dear Marge. She sounds like my kind of gal. Please keep us posted.
Yup I'm all about the real deal. Funny I do enjoy reduced fat cheese on occasion and prefer fat free Greek yogurt....go figure lol.

HI Pam, I love those stories about Marge. She sounds like an amazingly generous and kind person. I just love peo0le like that and if I somehow came into a fortune, that would be the best part if it...doing things for those you love. I will be thinking of Marge and wishing her the best.
We had had the leftover Italian for dinner. I wound up putting the leftover pork tenderloin in the freezer as I never got around to doing the chop suet with it. I hope it lasts ok. I’ll do it next week. I’m not the best atbfreezing meals for later but I am learning from all of you.
Have a great night all.

Good morning!
It's a lovely 55 degrees out, so a walk is definitely in my future. We have a special recitation of the rosary at 11:45 and LSU playing the Florida Gators this evening. Not much else going on, other than going to vote. Voting doesn't usually take very long here as our community is so small. It is a very rare occurrence to have to wait at all.
I will need to do some prep for a bible study group I'm facilitating tomorrow. Someone stepped in and covered for me last week, so I will need to play catch up and review last week's lesson as well as this week's.
Dinner tonight will be Weinies & Lentils, which is a recipe I found in Family Circle back way back when it cost 37 cents per serving to make. I had never eaten lentils before, but that price fit in well with our budget, so I tried the recipe. It became a family favorite that we enjoy to this day.
Enjoy your Saturday. Geaux Tigers!!!!

Pam our weather is similar. We took an extra long hood walk. I was happy to have put on my comfy shoes Yesterday we had similar temps, but the wind made it feel much colder. Today, no sunshine or wind so more comfy out there. Pam enjoy your recitation of the rosary, voting and dinner. We are going over to Sheila's early evening for a visit. Not having supper there which works out well for me. Breakfast and lunch are planned and not sure of supper. Something quick and easy I do have some 3 bean chili so perhaps that will be good with a side salad. I'll take some sugar free chocolates to give to Sheila so she can enjoy them later. Time to get a move on. Waving................

Hi all
We made it to the Cape and decided to get pizza instead of eating out because I did some retail therapy this afternoon and was home late for us to head out. I found three nice medium weight sweaters and a long cardigan and a new pair if jeans all 40% off Liz Claiborne at JC Penney’s and a replenishment of my foundation at Sephora. I hardly do much shopping in person these days - all online- so it was fun and a good mood lifter. We will go for our nice dinner tomorrow.
I hope you all have a good night!

Good morning all. Hope y'all enjoy a wonderful peaceful and OP Sunday We had a great time last night with Sheila and family. I did splurge on a chewy brownie with nuts but passed on the ice cream. Not a huge fan, so I saved points LOL. Judy so happy that you got some great retail therapy in. I too don't 'shop in person' these days. Not fond of crowds and hate plowing through the racks. Online is so much easier...but once in awhile it is fun and as you say a mood lifter. Pizza is a wonderful way to end the day Not sure what's on the agenda for today. Will play it by ear! Take care and I'll pop in later. Coffee is calling my name LOUD and CLEAR

It’s a beautiful day and we had a nice long walk with the doggies. We always meet up with neighbors when we walk and we are so lucky to have so many nice people in our neighborhood here at the Cape. It’s a good feeling in a world where so many folks don’t know their neighbors. We have some nice ones at home but not near as many.
We we are headed to Woods Hole soon for an early dinner and then sadly I have to go home for work tomorrow. Oh well, cest la vie.
Have a a great day all.

I know what you mean by good neighbors Judy. Happy you have many you connect with.
I agree, it's a beautiful day. We enjoyed a coffee in the screen room. I had a sweater on.
