Affirmation: My thoughts are positive
Mind: Open
Body: Healthy
Spirit: Wise
Gratitude: Being able to spend time with family
I am NOT eating on program but am having fun. My granddaughter (youngest) tested positive for covid t he night before I was to travel. Much dithering then the decision to make the trip and not try to change tickets and skip this visit. I am in a hotel for two nights and then we will reassess. She is in quarantine in her room so perhaps I can go there today? Or might wait till she tests negative...though staying in the hotel is not cheap. We will see.
I will be heading back home Saturday evening. I knew before leaving I would find the time flew by quickly once back home again. Still have a few days, though, before being back without electricity 24/7 and all that goes with it.
So...the plan is to enjoy every moment and think positively now and when I get back home.

Affirmation: Positive attitude paves the way to smoother interactions
Mind: Relaxed but also focused
Body: Content but eager to get back on program after the trip
Spirit: Refreshed
Gratitude: Safe return from travel despite delays and lost luggage
It was a wonderful but short trip. Travel is never easy and having delays, cancelled flights, lost luggage, etc AND eating what was offered rather than being in control of the menu was...challenging. I have about eight pounds to lose that found me on the trip...it will come off before I head to Scotland in July...I hope!
MICHELLE: My positive attitude seems to have made all the people working on the way provide better polite service no matter what. So glad to be able to check in here again every day!

Affirmation: Healthy Habits -> Healthy Me
Mind: Focused
Body: Healthy
Spirit: Wise
Gratitude: Being home safely
I am thinking positively that the missing suitcase will arrive today and that it will have everything inside that should be there. Fingers crossed believing the universe will see it happen.
I had a good day yesterday, had trouble sleeping last night, know jet lag is not a consistent thing but also know it will pass eventually. It usually takes one day for each hour of time change so with eight hours difference have six more days to go.

Affirmation: I can start my day over anytime. Attitude habit builder: Courageous and Resilient Body: Functional fitness and Yoga Spirit: Happy Gratitude: My blooming Irises. They are incredible!!! I have been spending lots of time outside getting my annual firebreak etc projects worked on. Another couple of weeks and I will be done with most of the auditing work. Life is good! Cathy: Welcome back! You were missed. Glad you had a wonderful time and sending positive vibes that the suitcase shows up soon. I think it is interesting how people pick up on others outlooks. If I am in a friendly mood strangers sense that and it is true even though I am wearing a mask. So many people offer to help me and I always think I remind them of their grandmothers or moms

Affirmation: Positive choices -> Positive life
Mind: Active
Body: Healthy
Spirit: Wise
Gratitude: The ability to go with the flow no matter what happens around me - guessing age and experience are involved with this ability
Ran errands today and realized that I have been "traveling" home for almost a week. I left last Sunday and it is now Friday so that explains why jet lag might be nearing the end? That or??? The luggage is still not here but I did get dressed in the one pair of shorts that happened to be in my carry-on. Glad I am NOT in a foreign country/city with only what was in my carry-on BUT have decided that my trip to Scotland may ONLY include a carry-on and everything I need will be in it!
MICHELLE: I love irises. I had some but think they were plowed up at some point in time I agree that people can tell if we are negative or positive and are often more willing to be helpful if we are positive than if we are negative. My sister says SHE thinks people see her as an older grandmotherly type woman and I now wonder if that is true for me...funny thing this trip was that I realized I was looking at people as I usually do but instead of thinking that the hot guys might be checking me out as a hot date possibility they were probably thinking about me as that grandmother-mother person instead

Affirmation: I am a possibility thinker! Attitude habit builder: Cute and Quirky Body: Nothing tastes as good as thin feels Spirit: Optimistic Gratitude: My family
Today is errand day but I need to prepare a list or heaven only knows what I will buy. But wandering around the store pondering might be fun instead of my usually zooming about. However no junk will go in my basket. It has been many years since I bought a bag of cookies and HAD to sit in the car eating them after I got out of the store. I remember those days when I look in my WW journey and not only do I never want to go back again I refuse to do so. It occurred to me that my obsession with food would actually kill me. I am grateful for the WW message that I finally got through my head. Thanks for reading this--sometimes I just need to remind myself of how great it is to be OP day after day, month after month...... Hooray!!!! for living another day.
Cathy: Recently I heard the phrase---Speak it until it is so. This goes along the lines with the theory that the spoken word is more powerful than just thinking positive. I am going to try it with your suitcase. Today I will SAY that it you got it at least 10 times today. Another trick is to speak it as though it already happened, so say it in the past tense. I haven't tried this in a long time. I am going to give it a go on your suitcase and also some things in my life as they come up.
BTW, sometimes I have a smashing bad migraine. This is why I didn't post. In the past I have posted anyway but I really need to not torture myself. So if I miss please remember about the dratted headaches. I don't like to talk about these types of things because I believe they draw energy. IMO dragging on about health issues, problems or my failures just maximizes them! I love posting and reading here because I can count on it being positive. Science of Mind really works!!!

Affirmation: I enjoy wearing my new smaller clothing
Mind: Focused
Body: Willing
Spirit: Wise
Gratitude: Good friends with excellent tips (like you, Michelle)
Still no update on the suitcase. Friends in Lebanon say I should go to the airport and demand to see if my suitcase is lurking within the store room. My husband and I will do so tomorrow if we have not heard positive news. Both women say they found their suitcases inside though the people had not notified them the suitcases had arrived. The electricity cuts have changed again but may work to our benefit.
MICHELLE: I am sorry you sometimes experience horrible migraine headaches. I have had a couple that saw me in a dark room sleeping it off. I usually just get the aura without the migraine but when it did hit it...not nice. Take care of yourself! As for speaking it so...I will be doing that today, too. I will visualize myself in the clothes in the suitcase, speak out loud every so often. Just saw myself in the navy shorts with red and white striped top and spoke it aloud...will visualize and speak another outfit in a bit.

Affirmation: Simplicity is best. Attitude habit builder: Committed and focused Body: OP and Yoga Spirit: Clear Gratitude: This life!
I did a few chores this morning and then took the rest of the day off. Relaxed and rejuvenated!
Cathy: Your plan to also visualize seems like the icing on the noncaloric cake! I am going to jot these ideas down to make a plan of action and see what happens by conducting a few tests on different ideas.

Affirmation: My suitcase will be here this week
Mind: Positive
Body: Willing
Spirit: Calm(ish)
Gratitude: Clarity of mind that comes with age...and the patience that is greater now than when younger and more "hormonal"
Suitcase still not here. Did receive a phone call last night around six from someone in Beirut asking if we had received the suitcase(NO), and answered other questions. She said she thinks the suitcase is in Paris or was sent back to Paris. Before bed I thought of checking the online baggage update/tracker page and found that the information changed from "en board" to "fill out baggage identification/claim" - a nine page form. I went to bed to fill it out in the morning but could not sleep so got up at 12:30am, filled out the form, returned to bed around 1:15 and fell asleep about 45 minutes later. I found out they had the incorrect color of the bag and also the wrong style of bag so fixed that on the claim form and have fingers crossed. I called this morning and they said it usually takes 24-48 hours for the airports to get back to the call center or to contact the owner of the lost bag with new information...they do not recommend going to the airport. So...Wednesday we go or Thursday? Whatever. I need to start putting together the information on what I need from the USA if the suitcase does not appear at all and have my daughter start a new suitcase full of items to bring when she comes in two weeks? UGH! Anyway...
I am thinking positive, I will verbalize more today, I will see myself pulling the suitcase out of the airport to the car and unpacking it at home then wearing some of the new clothes that fit me as I continue to drop the weight that found me while I was away.
We had rain last night. Not much...but some. The wind is up and the temperature dropped but the mosquito net also interrupted sleep so I took it off and was lucky no buzzing bugs came to visit. Not sure what today holds in store for us but look forward to a good day.
MICHELLE: Our positive vibes will enhance the suitcases ability to find its way to my house...it may think it should return to my sister's house since it was hers and she loaned it to me BUT it really needs to come HERE before returning to her house in the future...maybe I can take both of her bags back to her at some point in the future! I hope your dogs are thriving, your garden is beautiful, you have time to do yoga outside, and play games with your canine companions!

Affirmation: The best is yet to come! Attitude habit builder: Balanced and Resilient Body: OP, 11,346 Steps and Yoga Spirit: Shiny Gratitude: Caught up on my office job.
It's back to winter here for a day or two. So cold I had to wear a coat, sweater, on and on just to drive the quad to run the dogs. The arctic wind even came back. Well, soon it will be extremely warm so I am not going to complain about these cool temps. One thing---> some type of animal ripped off one of the outside vent covers and threw some insulation around. I had to sit in front of it to nail a piece of mesh up. I kept strong and refused to imagine that the creature with six inch long talons was going to jump out and get me. The dogs helped since Clair stuck her head all the way in there and nothing happened.
Cathy: I was thinking about the poetry my father read to us the other day and remembered one of them which was by T.S. Elliot and seemed fairly grim to me when I read it, but back then in my preschool childhood I always looked forward to the time spent doing this. I can't believe that you are going to go off again gallivanting about soon. How exciting!!!

Still no news on the suitcase. I am seeing myself with the suitcase home and unpacked and me wearing the clothes inside. It will happen. It is a week today since I arrived and a bit more since the suitcase and I left the USA. Ugh...We may go to Beirut today or give it another day or two...think we will go, though.
MICHELLE: I remember my father reading to us when we were little. Not often...but sometimes. He did a marvelous job of reading aloud. Sorry the varmint dug into the wall and insulation...hope it did not nest in there!
