Affirmation: Lots to look forward to! Mind: Contemplating Body: Walking, Yoga, OP Spiritual growth path: Letting it all go........... Gratitude: Surprises
DH surprised me by bringing home flowers for Valentines Day. Usually he isn't interested in holidays at all. Clair and Buttercup wanted to sniff them but Sam could have cared less--proving that getting flowers is definitely a "girl thing".
Cathy: The girl scout troop planted California poppies. They will grow quite well if planted in an area conducive to them growing. Errand day for me tomorrow. I will be creeping around trying to avoid people as usual.

Affirmation: I am in control of my diet
Mind: Open Body: Exercising Spirit: Bright Gratitude: Weekend chats with our children and granddaughters
We will be going to the bank next week. While out and about we will also run some errands and pick up medicine, Frontline, credit for my phone and coffee. Might do a few other thing OR might have to go out another day if the lines at the bank are too long?
MICHELLE: How fun that your husband brought you flowers AND how interesting that Sam was not interesting in sniffing them but the girls were! I smiled thinking of you creeping around running errands...I will be doing just that next week!

Affirmation: Nothing tastes as good as thin feels! Mind: Strong willed Body: Walking, Yoga, OP Spiritual growth path: Letting it all go........... Gratitude: Modern conveniences. I managed to get started early to get my errands done without slipping into a Covid funk. It helps when I go to the dog food store because the employees know Clair and me so I don't end up feeling so isolated. The dogs had a conniption fit over a deer that was wandering around in the big yard this evening just before it got dark. The deer probably wanted to check out the bird feeding area to see what was on the menu. Cathy: One place I shop is kind of an organic grocery store. The checker told me that I had wonderful energy and asked me how I achieved it. I said that posting daily here was so helpful. I told her about our affirmations and daily gratitudes. I thought that was a very special compliment and wanted to share it with you.

Affirmation: I love feeling fit and strong.
Mind: Open
Body: Healthy
Spirit: Content
Gratitude: Weekend online chats with family
We talked to our daughter yesterday and she said it is cold in Missouri. Being outside 30 minutes would cause frostbite. My husband said it was cold here and she just laughed. I don't think my husband has had much real experience with "cold". Hope to talk to my son and granddaughters today.
MICHELLE: 💌 Happy Valentine's Day 💌 I loved hearing that the checker at the organic food store commented on your energy and that you give credit to our daily check-in here on this forum to providing a bit of a daily grounding/check-in/whatever. I have to agree. Checking in, focusing on the positive in the present, talking over goals...and all the rest...it is a marvelous partnership-friendship that helps us have more positive energy and much brighter days!

Affirmation: Weighing, measuring, counting--basic WW steps that lead to staying OP! Mind: Dedicated Body: Walking, Yoga, OP Spiritual growth path: Letting it all go........... Gratitude: A simple day at home.
I had a DIY Handywoman success! The quad needed the protective rubber mat replaced that is put down over the basket in the back. This basket can catch a dogs nails and what a mess that is--which I learned about many years ago. Anyway I knew exactly what I was doing and did a great job!!! I am very excited because it was obvious that all my trials and tribulations in regard to DIY are paying off.
Cathy: I agree! Happy Valentines Day!!!

Affirmation: Every positive choice brings me closer to goal achievement
Mind: Focused
Body: Stronger every day
Spirit: Bright
Gratitude: New thoughts and ideas and application of them in my life
Talked to our son and his family yesterday. They were driving to Pensacola for a swim meet. It was so "normal" and so foreign to what our life has become here during the pandemic. It made me happy for them. Today we need to put in the application to get a permit to drive tomorrow. Need to go to the bank and do a few other things.
MICHELLE: How brilliant you are to have been able to do your handman fix of the quad to keep your dogs safe!

Affirmation: I have better things to do than overeat. Mind: Calm Body: Walking, Yoga, OP Spiritual growth path: Letting it all go........... Gratitude: Winter weather
I wrestled with the Paper Tiger this morning, working on my personal items. Progress is being made. When DH came home I went with him to walk the dogs in the big yard which makes them happy since they love to play Peek-A-Boo-Bee with me. I wait until they have wandered off out of site then I hide in the bushes then make my really loud Pee-A-Boo-Bee noise and then they have to find me. They just love it when they are successful!
Cathy: Do you get that permit online? Is this government plan helping? When we first started dealing with Covid the roads were mostly deserted and the only place people were going was to the grocery store. Then the hardware stores opened up and those were jam packed. Now everyone is running around and shopping in malls etc as though nothing is going on. Masks are mandatory but social distancing is ignored until we get in check out lines. It is very strange to say the least since the situation is exactly the same as it was originally. One of these days all this will be over!!!

Affirmation: Life is good Mind: Bright Body: Relaxed Spirit: Content Gratitude: Having the bank trip behind me and the stimulus check from May finally deposited.
We were up early, dressed, I even had makep on, filled in the online forms with the correct department and immediately had the permit. I took a photo of it on my phone toh ave in case we were stopped and we headed out. We did go over the two hours we were to be out but accomplished much. Have frontline for two more months, coffee beans to make fresh ground coffee again, pharmacy for a month's prescriptions and picked up some dairy and a bit of wine, too. We stopped for rotisserie chicken and had that with sauteed chard-onion with lemon juice for a tasty lunch.
Michelle: I can just see your head popping above a bush like a jack-in-the-box when you play with the dogs - how fun!

Affirmation: I love being OP! Mind: Fascinated Body: Walking, Yoga, OP Spiritual growth path: Letting it all go........... Gratitude: Interesting people
I spent most of the day cleaning house and I appreciate the results. Buttercup has a little duck toy that is going Quack Quack Quack endlessly. She is really into making noises. However Clair managed to get it and is now taunting her sister. She just loves to get BC's toy and keep it away from her---just like two little kids.
Cathy: Glad you got your errands taken care of. I won't have to go again until next week. Thank goodness.

Affirmation: Believe -> See Mind: Focused Body: Patient Spirit: Content Gratitude: Shelter in stormy weather
It is windy, wet, and wild outside. It is nippy inside, again, but so glad we are safe and secure rather than in a refugee tent! I think lunch will be leftover soup OR we have zucchini or cauliflower and broccoli...either would be tasty.
MICHELLE: I loved hearing about the squeaky toy stolen by Clair...does Buttercup chase her till she gives it back or do they tussle or do a tug of war? Sounds like having children at home...FURRY children ; )

Affirmation: Slow and steady wins the race Mind: Inventive Body: Walking, Yoga, OP Spiritual growth path: Letting it all go........... Gratitude: Enthusiasm!
I spent most of the day working on my ToDo list and managed to get everything done. I am getting a better attitude about dealing with my personal Paper Tiger which is a goal of mine. I enjoyed the day and spent some time sitting in the sun on the deck. It's gone back to winter so I had to do the sitting with my winter coat, hat etc on.
Cathy: Buttercup has to put up with Clair's antics since she is the youngest but they get along very well so BC just follows Clair around until Clair gets bored and drops the toy. They actually like doing all of this. They do play tug of war with some special toys and all three of them love to go out in the backyard with me as a part of the team. They are just like very happy kids and I do not tolerate any arguing. I have specific things I say to each one if they start to get a little out of line. Buttercup kind of teases them sometimes so I tell her "Be Respectful" and she stops immediately. There are a lot of training tricks to getting a happy pack and I know what they are and use them.

Affirmation: I am in charge Mind: Focused Body: Willing Spirit: Peaceful Gratitude: sun peeping between the clouds - rain to nourish the earth.
It was a bit stormy yesterday with some hail that stayed on the ground for awhile. We were not toasty warm but warm enough in our home and I was thankful for a roof over my head and a space heater to run while reading in the evening.
MICHELLE: I love that you are alpha of your pack. What is the greatest number of dogs you have had at one time?

Affirmation: Slow and steady wins the race Mind: Pondering Body: Walking, Yoga, OP Spiritual growth path: Letting it all go........... Gratitude: Family Today I had to work on the Paper Tiger from the office. I managed to get through an audit for the most part and will be able to finish my part tomorrow. It snowed so I was not able to sit out on the deck to catch some sunshine. Cathy: I had six dogs. Three Collies, a Lab, a Rottweiler cross, and a cross between and Irish Setter and a Gordon Setter. A lady was giving away Collies but didn't want to split them up so I got one more than I planned on. The Setter cross was headed for the highway so I opened the car door and she jumped in. The Rottie cross had a bad living situation so he moved in with us. He would dig under the gate to get in so I adopted him. Ginny, the Setter, had lived wild so she was an incredible hunter and actually taught the other dogs to do tag team hunting. The Rottie cross had some psychological problems so could not be left at home. I had to take him to work. One day my bosses assistant called and told me that the dog could not be there. I said--if the dog goes, I go. He went to work with me everyday and after about a year he was perfectly normal! Probaby TMI but I sure loved those dogs!!!

Affirmation: Believe -> See
Mind: Focused Body: Slimmer Spirit: Bright Gratitude: finally left THE LONG WINDING ROAD of the 70's (on the scale) behind and am entering the 60's and I'M A BELIEVER that I will move more quickly through them to the 50's and then lower.
169.8 flickered on the scale and then it went up to 170.4. I was frustrated but thought, "why not step on again" so I did and it was down so I tried a third time and it again was 169.8 SO I have claimed it.
The weather is grayer, wetter, colder and I am bundled up inside with the thermometer in the kitchen window (inside) reading 150. It will be a cool day!
MICHELLE: I loved hearing about your pack of six canine companions! My first thought hearing SIX dogs was that you must be a pack animal and probably the alpha/goddess for them to circle around. Love it! I have mixed feelings about dogs. I love them and they love me BUT they are also more alpha than I will ever be...and they seem to know it...as do horses and they are MUCH bigger than I am! I seem to have ended up with cats in my life more than dogs...no idea why.
