Pam sounds like you had a delish day Sometimes ya just gotta go 'off program' and so long as you get back on track, it's all okay in my book! I envy your pecan season, Pam. Love those nuts. I cam remember my grandma roasting them...so delish and loved the smell. Happy you enjoyed your catholic daughter day Happy walking. Smart to wait till things cool off. I'm not a fan of walking in the heat myself. Thanks for the prayers for Carl. Will keep y'all posted.

Sometimes life just throws us a curve .... and that's okay. While I was finishing up vacuuming this morning, DH called me to tell me he'd be right here. I hesitated then asked why he was telling me that? Seems he had completely forgotten our plan to eat lunch at home and decided he didn't mind missing the beginning of the Lions game after all. We compared notes and discovered that we'd both been hankering for a Turkey Reuben from VP, so we went ahead there. While standing in line, DH complimented a young man ahead of us about his shoes and that began a conversation. We were well into it when our turn came up to be seated and DH asked him if he'd like to join us? Without hesitation, he said he would. So we became a threesome, and enjoyed lively conversation at lunch. His wife was taking care of her mom this morning, so he was alone. Discovered we had much in common (like long marriages, sports teams, etc) and it's almost surprising our paths haven't crossed before. His wife actually works for WW in the distribution center. When we parted, he gave me a big hug and we exchanged phone numbers. We made a new friend!! We both expressed how pleased we were with that chance encounter and how it turned out.
I am finished with everything now except laundry so I will put it in to start and restart my book.
