My guess is that Melania doesn't even know that someone on her staff picked that as one of her interests. I don't think she has any real interest except living the good life being rich and pampered. That's o.k. She more than earns it having to be anywhere near the proximity of the JA. I want her to get every nickel she can out of him.

My response from Marsha Blackburn. Of course, she's not going to do anything but give the party line that the Democrats are not following due process. That's just plain ludicrous. And, like Alexander she seemingly thinks she needs to "educate" me on what impeachment is because, I suppose, she doesn't think I'm smart enough to understand. Well, I'm not the brightest bulb on the tree but I was smart enough not to vote for her. LOL! --------- "Dear Friend, Thank you for contacting me regarding efforts to impeach the president. I always appreciate hearing from Tennesseans. Impeachment is similar to charging an individual with a crime, and requires a trial to prove any allegations. The Constitution places with the Senate the sole power to try all impeachments. The Constitution also sets a high standard for impeachable offenses as “Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.” Removal through impeachment is solely for the most serious crimes. In our country's history, the House has impeached only two presidents, Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton, but the Senate acquitted both. In September 2019, Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) announced plans to investigate the president for impeachment, and the House subsequently voted 232-196 to direct certain committees to continue their investigations in October 2019. Since this process began, I have been deeply troubled that the House is not following due process or abiding by the rules and precedents governing impeachment proceedings. As we move into the public hearings, I remain concerned with the lack of due process. I appreciate your thoughtful comments. If the House of Representatives votes to impeach the president, then the Senate will hold a trial with Chief Justice John Roberts of the Supreme Court presiding. Please be assured that I will keep your thoughts in mind should this matter come before the Senate this year. Again, thank you for taking the time to contact me. If you would like regular updates on my work for Tennessee, please sign up for my weekly newsletter or follow me on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Sincerely, Marsha Blackburn United States Senator"

Evidently, JA is pretty P O at Pompeio because he hired all these State Department people that are testifying against him at Impeachment Inquiry. LOL Won’t be long before Pompeio ( sp ?) will be feeling the bus wheels running over him. He and Jeff Sessions will have something in common to commiserate over. I guess selling ones soul ( if they have one) for loyalty from an amoral thing seemed worth it at the time til they discover JA doesn’t know the meaning of loyalty or even care! How long before the Sec of State job will be up for grabs to the highest bidder.

Trump is now saying he may consider testifying.
All I can say is....hahahahahahahahahaha
I'm betting his bone spurs will act up and prevent him from doing so.

With all these people such as Tillerson standing up and saying the JA is in the wrong now, all I can wonder is did the JA have them tied to a chair with duct tape over their mouth the entire time they were actually in office? What kind of backbone is it if it only comes into play when it's useless to the country? Better late than never I suppose, but it sure would have been better if they had spoken up when it might have actually done some good.
The greatest nation on earth has become an object of pity for the rest of the world as they see Russia, Turkey, North Korea, etc. taking our lunch money and laughing all the way.

"Congressman, because this is America. This is the country I served and defended, that all my brothers have served, and, here, right matters." -- Lt. Col. Vindman
That was once true. Here right did matter. I hope Lt. Colonel Vindman is correct that it still does. That while JA may have the GOP afraid of their shadows, that for the country as a whole right still matters, and that we honor those who try to uphold it. I wish I could say that is still true with confidence, but my confidence has been sorely shaken. Maybe it was just because I was so much younger and a new mother concentrating more on my new baby than on politics, but even Nixon did not shake my faith in my country the way this JA has.

We may have yet another planned power outage on Wednesday. I am going to be mightily pissed if I can't watch Sondland testify in real time. ETA: DT won't get impeached in the Senate, but at least now there's no doubt he's a clueless idiot who won't listen to the informed staff around him, and prefers whatever conspiracy theory gives him fuel for his paranoid anger. Re: Volker's testimony.

Not for a nano second, do I believe that the "wearing the uniform vs a suit" or "Mr instead of Lt Colonel " was not meant to insult by the Nunes or the other GOP idiot. It was totally meant to demean. The ugliness on the Right is so disgusting. They are playing a very dangerous game protecting this President.
Lani, I sure hope you have electricity. We had to make an unplanned trip out of town, so I couldn't watch yesterday afternoon & it about drove me nuts....LOL

(yes, that was a . not a ? because it's not really a question lol). As rabid as the GOP is about "it's all the democrats fault", they need to look internally as well and decide if this is the hill they choose to make their stand on: demeaning and disrespecting people that represent the best of this nation.

I think the "s..t" just hit the fan. The release of the opening statement of Sondland proves the swamp exists in the Republican WH & down.

Looks like this will be the pivotal day. And, I really thought we might actually see Sondland declare the Fifth. He obviously can afford a good lawyer and this one clearly advised him to jump ship and tell the truth finally. lani, gosh, I hope you were spared a blackout. That whole business is awful.
