Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Thursday! We woke to white outside the window and very cold temps (below freezing).
Judy ~ You remember correctly that I bought the Lands End barn jacket last year. I have worn it a few times but unfortunately the real cold came in much earlier than usual, and it is nowhere near warm enough now. However, I did have a small window of time when I wore it out.
I retrieved an older Lands End down parka to wear today. I wasn't warm enough in the Squall jacket yesterday and since I'm on the playground for 30-40 minutes it is long enough to get chilled. This is the one I will donate when my new one arrives (which looks like it will be this weekend). Then the previous one will move up to being a school coat - and the new one will be for going out. At least that is the plan right now. Yesterday I was so envious on the playground of all those ladies who had the foresight to wear winter coats <LOL>
Our supper was delicious last night. This morning we had oatmeal with blueberries and it really hit the spot for me!! I have been feeling "empty hungry" and was due for a heavier meal. My scale dropped again this morning so I am very encouraged! I have packed a chocolate Premier protein drink for lunch and a Chrystal Light lemonade for this afternoon. Tonight will be the leftover pasta sauce with sirloin over spaghetti squash. The last of my leftovers from this week, with the exception of some pulled pork and rotisserie chicken, which will become light supper tomorrow night when we get home from Turkeyville.
Tomorrow we have a day trip planned with DH's VBF for the 3 of us to go to Turkeyville, so our big meal will be in the mid-day, and I am just planning on a light supper when we get home. I am, however, looking forward to the play "Santa Gets A Pink Slip" and the shopping and most of all the togetherness!!
Yesterday I had help from our office staff at work as well as one sub who can't come today. So we'll be on our own. I also stayed and subbed in a classroom for an additional hour and a half, so I was glad I could do that.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Hi friends, The day started out chilly but no rain yet. I did wear my warm coat. I forgot to add that I have two other wool Land’s End coats for when I need a bit dressier overcoats. I am wearing my maroon one today since I have a dress on for the Pancreatic Cancer Fundraising gala tonight. Like you all have said, they are priced right, often on sale and good quality. Sue, sorry you were chilly yesterday and glad you’ll be warm. 45 minutes on the playground is a long time. Sue, I love the names of the places you visit. Turkeyville cracks me up! Is it a restaurant or a theme park or a town or what? So cute. We do have a place on Buttermilk Bay so guess we have our share of cute names, too. Pam, add me to the list of aggravated walkers when dogs are loose. Here in our town they are very strict about that and any dog on the loose is impounded right away so there are very few issues. But, at the Cape, we have one neighbor whose big friendly beast of a dog often gets loose. Luckily, he is a Labra-doodle and harmless but I worry about him. We have coyotes on the prowl all the time and no dog should be loose if you care about him/her. Take care of your dogs, people! And, your neighbor sounds so arrogant ignoring you while on the phone. Ugh! I am glad you got home unscathed. Oh, I love the back story on Jude’s name. My DD had a little guy from San Francisco with that name in her daycare. So cute and an easy one. Plus, it is a nickname I have been called. Ann, good luck to Carl today on the ultrasound. Hope all goes well and that surgery is set to take care of those issues. I am very relieved that my DD does not have to have such complicated surgery so soon. It’s a relief. We’ll be with her at Christmas and it’ll be much more fun this way than seeing her immobile. DH came home with a super-duper brush that removed all the burrs very easily. He was quite proud of his “find.” We agreed to walk the dogs instead of letting them into our fenced back yard until we are rid of the burrs which are under the deck. Silly doggies going under there. Ugh. Plus the nasty grubs are hiding everywhere on everyone’s lawns lately. I guess a frost will not be so bad soon. Today I have the Mexican luncheon as a belated birthday gift from a friend. I had a Premiere Vanilla shake for breakfast with my coffee. That will help balance it out. I am thinking a taco salad for lunch. I love those. Not sure what the dinner will be at the fundraiser but probably some sort of chicken. Have a great day and I’ll B BL.

Good morning!
I slept great last night and woke up refreshed, except for a sore right knee and ankle. I think it's time to seriously shop for new walking shoes. That's the only reason I can think of for the tenderness in my knee and ankle. I am contemplating a shorter walk and adding some time on the recumbent bike. I really need the extra points to help cover our restaurant meal tonight.
I am researching online to see what I might choose from the Italian restaurant menu so I can plan other meals accordingly. DD2 will meet us for cocktails and dinner and then DH and I will head to little theatre for a performance of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder.
Sue - I shivered a little when I read your post. It is cloudy, but 69, so the windows are open. I'm glad you will have a warm coat today! Sometime when we are in MI, I think I will plan a side trip to Turkeyville, maybe with DD3's in-laws as we have a good time with them.
Ann - Carl's name was included in my morning prayers. People who don't keep their dogs under control make me angry, because the dog is the one who suffers, by risking getting put down if they bite someone, getting run over by a car, getting lost or stolen, etc.
Judy - Good for you planning out your day! I am doing the same and will eat very point-friendly so I can enjoy some good Italian food tonight. Enjoy the fund-raiser.

Sue hope your Land's End jacket is to your liking. I hear you on some just not being warm enough. I have a full length Land's End and two parkas that I wear. They are all very warm and toasty. I also have an in between jacket that I will wear on occasion. Happy your meals are all planned out. They sound delish! Judy yeah to DH finding the perfect brush for D&D. He's a keeper for sure Enjoy the bday meal out as well as the fundraiser. You are the social butterfly LOL. Pam you are right...it's always the animal that suffers in that type of a situation. Smart move to check out the Italian Restaurant to see what you will order. Enjoy. I thank y'all again for the well wishes and especially the prayers for Carl. Time to unwind. I'm running on empty and need to relax.

Popping back in again. Didn't end up going to Weight Watchers after all. Around 3:30 it started to pour and it's still going strong. Not that it's far away from us, it's just that I had no desire to get dressed and go. Color me lazy It will still be there next week! Sweet dreams.

Good morning all. Carl has grand jury duty once again today. I'll be spending the day with Donna and LuLa. We'll have plenty of 'girl talk' going on LOL. Love her company.
We did have some sleet last night. Luckily I was already in and jammified when that was going on.
Judy Pam Sue...have a wonderful day and I'll CBL

Hello everyone and T.G.I.F.!
The fundraiser for pancreatic cancer turned out to be a fun night. There were many people from the medical center there as well as all the contestants -- probably about 250 people if I had to guess. My friend sang At Last by Etta James and won as the best all around singer - second place. The first place winner was a little bit better performer, but I thought my friend's voice was far superior! She is amazing - even the judges asked her what she was doing HERE! She probably could be on the Voice or one of those shows. Fun to watch, and actually the food was just so-so which meant I was not tempted. No desserts offered and a buffet of pasta, salad and a chicken dish with peppers and onions. Nothing very tempting. None of us ate much, and I think they may have kept it low key so that the proceeds would go to cancer not food. Smart. They raffled off a bunch of stuff and had an auction which raised quite a bit of money, too.
Today is cold and we had a bit of a frost last night. DH and I forgot to bring in our beautiful gardenia tree/bush. It's huge. We love it, but it is getting too big for the house and too big to lug around. Sadly, this might be its decent burial. It weighs a ton and is on our deck. It blooms all the time and often has about 100 gardenia...not joking! We've enjoyed it for years and years.
Tomorrow we head to the Cape to meet the builder and designer. I am thinking more and more that it might be a good move to just keep it as a cottage with minor updating and then buy another house when we sell this one up here - either a house or condo that we can enjoy with minimal work. Then we can do some traveling in the cold winter months and use the house at the Cape for a few months a year - like you do with your camp, Pam. The thought of a huge rebuild overwhelms me, but of course, I have to convince DH of the same. We shall see.
Ann, good luck to Carl on his grand jury duty. That can last a long time from all I hear. I have never been called for grand jury duty.
Pam, enjoy the day and hope you find some new walking shoes. They make a big difference. Have fun at your dinner! Sue, have a great day. I'll bbl.

Ann is your full length coat from Land's End a down one? I'm thinking something like that would keep me very warm walking the pups.

Yes long coat is lands end. I got it many moons ago at Sears lol and still going strong Nice that the proceeds are all going to the cancer drive and not spent on food. Carl is home from jury duty. We are all sitting around having coffee. Froze walking LuLa. The real feel temp here is 18! Yikes.

Hi!
We had a lovely time at dinner with DD2 last evening. We talked so long, we made it to the theater and barely settled in our seats when the lights went down. It was an okay musical comedy, but not great. My dinner was a pasta dish with shrimp, cherry tomatoes, broccoli and spinach in a cream sauce over pasta. After a piece of bruschetta and a salad, I only had room for a third of the entree, so I did okay on points. I finished the week with a -2PP, but still posted a weekly WL of -.6 this morning, so I am happy. I have posted the same weight for 3 days in a row, so am hoping for another dip in the scale soon.
Today, I slept in after our late night and then headed into town for yoga, Shingrix shot and grocery shopping. I had to pay a $55 co-pay, even with insurance and Medicare, but I guess that's better than getting shingles, right? After I got home and was putting things away, my cousin from Nebraska called to talk about some issues with our jointly-owned land and then we talked about family stuff. I was walking while we talked and was surprised that it was 50 minutes!
I only had milk in my coffee for breakfast, as I didn't want to do yoga on a full stomach. Lunch was another 1/3 of my pasta dish with tomato, cucumber & onion salad and a banana. Dinner will be grilled shrimp, new potatoes with green beans and marinated cauliflower.
Ann - 18 degrees! I guess you did have a cold Lula walk. Bundle up, my friend.
Judy - I am sure you and DH will eventually work out a retirement living plan that works. One consideration about possibly moving to a condo someday: if you are used to living in a house, it takes some adjusting to "neighbor noise" when sharing walls or ceiling/floor with others. DD2 once had a next door neighbor who had loud, vulgar fights with her adult son who lived with her. DD3 had a Middle Eastern neighbor living above whose 2 year old would run and jump, which was very aggravating, especially when they would return from a visit home and he did it in the wee hours because of jet lag. One of my dear friends has had awful luck with neighbors since her original neighbors all went to nursing home or died and their units are rented to all sorts of folks. She has had domestic violence next door, a guy upstairs who practiced with his church band from 9:00PM -12:00AM, followed by a neighbor who left the tub running (how does someone do this???)and flooded their own apartment and my friend's. She had to put all her things in storage and move to a hotel for months while things were repaired. DD2 said last evening she is done with it and plans to buy a house next year.
Waving at Sue!

Good Morning, WW Friends ~ Happy Saturday!! We had a wonderful time yesterday at Turkeyville and the dinner theatre as well as shopping. The play was cute and entertaining. One of the actresses in particular just captivated all three of us and I even asked DH if "we could bring her home". The dinner, as usual, was delicious. I had only my yogurt and berries with Fiber One for breakfast, then enjoyed my biggest meal at noon. I had sliced turkey breast, mashed potatoes with gravy, yams with apples, and green beans. When we were seated we had a small side salad then a cup of homemade turkey/vegetable/barley soup. For dessert I had a slice of pumpkin pie. Last night when we got home I had 2 oz of rotisserie chicken breast with some cinnamon apples and that was it. I closed out my day with SP still leftover which is amazing, considering I went out to eat. My scale reflected a loss again this morning which was very encouraging! Pam ~ You really made me LOL at all the escapades of "neighbors". We also lived in an apartment before buying our condo, and had a turn-over of neighbors, some better than others. Fortunately an elder gentleman lived above us and he was very quiet and we had made friends with him. With our condo complex, even though we're "connected" we are in a ranch and our only connected neighbor is garage side-by-side as well as I believe the back wall of my walk-in closet may butt up to the back wall of his coat closet on his stairway landing. But we never hear him, except for the slight drone when he opens his garage door every morning at 7:15-7:20 and I say "Good-bye Michael, have a nice day". Judy ~ You know that is HUGE that you passed on food that wasn't "worthy". I try to do that more often than not, despite a lifelong habit of eating all my food. Turkeyville is a resort of sorts, has a restaurant (original) and a dinner theatre seating room, and a gift shop and a bakery and ice cream, etc. They also have a Campground and RV park on the adjoining property. Behind the original building is a huge barn filled with turkeys (and other animals). It is quite an interesting place and we all enjoy it. We got there a bit early and perused the gift shop and then got seated for lunch. The food as usual was delicious! All fresh and home-cooked. Then we had about an hour break before the play started at 2 p.m. We were in the car and on the way home by about 4:30. Of course, darkness overtook us on the drive home and we were glad to arrive. A good time was had by all! Land's End has a huge sale going on right now and they have full length down coats! I am excited to receive my new one today (though it is mid-thigh length). Ann ~ Is Carl on Grand Jury duty every Friday? I also have never been called for that and really don't know much about it. How nice that you an take advantage of that time to enjoy "girl time". When my DH goes Up North with his buddy, I usually plan something with a GF for the time I would normally spend with him. I went through my closet again and I think I will donate my oldest (reversible down) parka as the sleeves are shorter and the style is definitely dated. I have a couple of down jackets without hoods that I enjoy for times like yesterday and when we go out tonight. So they will be staying with me, even though they are also aged. (I started to write "old and changed it to "aged"). :-) My DH came down with a terrible cold several days ago so I scrubbed and disinfected the bathroom this morning. He seems to be on the mend. He enjoyed yesterday, though perhaps not as much as he would have without the cold. We have a dinner date with our young Retrouvaille couple tonight and I have been perusing the menu of the destination and think I will have one of their delicious sounding salads. I have finished my cleaning and started laundry, so I think I will squeeze in some reading time this afternoon. BBL. Make a great day!!

Happy Saturday afternoon. We did stop at the Christmas church fair and it was all about taking chances on gift baskets. Definitely not my cup of tea. I like a fair where you can actually buy hand made goods. We chatted with a few people we knew and then headed on over to BJ's Warehouse. Haven't been in awhile, so our list was very long. All is packed frozen unwrapped and put way LOL. That just is just as bad as doing the initial shopping IMHO.
We stopped at Subway for lunch. I had the black forest ham with veggies and mozzarella cheese. It was quite tasty. Tonight will be lentil soup and a salad with chicken thrown in for happy measure.
Sue so sorry that DH has a cold. There are so many colds going around this time of year. I hope he feels better quickly. I hear you on disinfecting the bathrooms. Great job on donating your clothes. My box of 'goodies' is just about full, so I'll put that in the truck (with Carl's stuff at the bottom LOL) and drop that off this coming week.
Carl has to be available for grand jury duty each Friday. Last week there were not cases.....I'm hoping that this Friday will be the same deal. They notify him via email and send a follow up in the regular mail. He enjoys it! I, on the other hand, did not like going to regular jury duty and would most definitely not like grand! That being said, there really is not way out.
It feels much better outdoors today as we have no wind and plenty of sunshine. The walk we took with miss LuLa was quite enjoyable.
Time to get a little reading in before supper.
Take care, all!

Happy Sunday. Woke up refreshed but with tummy issues. It feels better now, but I'll keep an eye on things. Don't want to push it. Going to be warmer today Have a few errands to run and hopefully I'll be up for it. Carl wants to smoke a chicken, so that will be a good healthy meal for us today. Will pop in later
