@lka48, LOL I remember Melania's handiwork from last year with all the blood red trees reminiscent of The Handmaid's Tale.

I don't know why he's in a huff because the inquiry is going on when he's "out of the country" since he refused to participate anyway. I don't know why I found that very funny. Guess he won't have time to tweet-storm when he's doing, you know, his actual job lol.

He's attacking Macron again. This man constantly has to pick a fight no matter where or who he is with. But his fights are always picked with our allies rather than our adversaries. If you're a dictator or authoritarian, he loves you.
I had to laugh when I read last night that according to a new unauthorized biography Melania has her own separate quarters within the WH residence rather than sharing quarters with the JA. I don't blame her. I'd try to stay as far away from him as possible too. It did say, however, that they talk to each other usually several times a day -- by phone. LOL!
Jim Jordan must be trying to be a Lindsey Graham clone. He's doing a pretty good job of it.

They are likening this years WH Christmas Decorations to " The Shining" ...LOL....https://www.huffpost.com/entry/melania-trump-white-house-christmas_n_5de5da4fe4b00149f734b3c7
Trump sitting on his chair beside Macron, was so funny. He looks like he is taking a poop on the toilet. LOL What an ugly scowl on his face as well.
Joyce, good luck counting calories. You are one brave woman to start during the Holiday Season. Good for you!!

Joyce, good luck counting calories. You are one brave woman to start during the Holiday Season. Good for you!! Not so brave, Linda, just got to start some time. However, I also know that life is short and to be enjoyed so I'm not being too rigid about it either. I had planned to cook an old WW recipe today, however, DH just announced he wants to go out for Mexican. Like I said, life is short and I've learned to enjoy the moment as it can change in the blink of an eye so Mexican it will be. LOL!

So now this JA's is talking about going to the Supreme Court to keep his financial records private. Why do his supporters not see through this? Really, do any one of you think that if Congress was interested in seeing your financial records that they would not be able to do so? Of course they could see them if they wanted to. We need to have a law passed to require Presidential candidates to disclose ALL financial records. You want to be the President, then we should know where your money is coming from just as we should know how healthy you are and anything else that could impact your ability to carry out the duties of the presidency. Yet, his supporters just blindly go their merry way without even a peep of a question. Stealing from charities? That's o.k. Not paying workers? That's o.k. Everything is o.k. by them.

European leaders have learned it does no good to suck up to the Dumpster, he won't be any nicer to them. That only works with dictators. I take it back, they (the strongmen/dictators) don't even suck up to him. He's like the kid who doesn't get picked to be on the team, but keeps hanging around saying "what about me, fellas? I'm a tough guy too!"

Kamala is out of the race. I think it's good that she recognized she didn't have any way forward to the nomination and dropped out now. There were a number of things I liked about her. I hope she will put her efforts behind one of the candidates who does have a chance. She took a parting swipe at Bloomberg and his billions. All that money can give him a major edge. It may be a mistake for him though to discount the early voting states. We'll see.

Wonder what new revelations we're going to find out in this round of hearings? No matter what we find out, I don't see Republicans in the Senate voting to convict. He could sell the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial to Kim Jung Un or Putin putting the money in his private account and Republicans still wouldn't convict. They'd all say, what a strategic investment in diplomacy it was.

I've been hearing Ben Franklin quoted a lot:
When exiting the Constitutional Convention he was asked what sort of goverment was it. His answer: "A Republic, if you can keep it."
That seem to be the ultimate question behind all this. Presidential power has been expanding for a long time. Now we are paying the price when an idiot gets the job. Supposed to be three co-equal branches of government. Then each party tries to capture all three branches.

I think what JA hates most, is, people laughing about him behind his back. So, happy, that someone captured that moment on video of the world leaders laughing at JA. JA, usually is nasty & mean & laughing about others out in the open, so, he totally deserves to be humiliated.....what goes around, comes around!

lani, I'm afraid Ben Franklin was right, and it looks like we're not doing a very good job of keeping it. In fact, we may have completely lost it. @lka48, absolutely he deserves it. He deserves to be steeped in humiliation for all the world to see.

Presidential power has been expanding for a long time. Now we are paying the price when an idiot gets the job. I agree! My dh and I have had a discussion and he says things like "DT isn't the first president to do xxxxx" -my response is "But he should be the last". Just because xxx got away with it before doesn't mean "we" should keep ignoring this snowball of abuse of power. If now isn't the time to get control of it -when is?!
