DotRen, I think you are right that he doesn't get it. I think he truly doesn't see that he's done anything wrong because he is so corrupt and has been this way all his life so it's just natural for him. I think he truly believes that the rules don't apply to him because he is "special" not because he's president, but because he really believes he was born to rule over the rest of us.

I think he thinks everyone is like him except he doesn't try to hide it. I don't think his blatant lies are an attempt to hide anything. He just has to go through the motions. He's really bad at being a sociopath. Most are a bit better at concealing their true nature.
I think anything that fires up Biden is fine.

I'm glad that the economy is doing well for many people. That's good news for the country, but it makes me sick that it is going to give this JA a strong boost into the next election cycle. Personally, I'm not so sure how much credit his policies can actually take for the economy. Obama got the economy back on the right track after W's disastrous effect on it. But whether he's the reason it's good or not, I will admit that his policies haven't hurt the economy at least yet in the short term. It's everything else that he is destroying in our country that worries me.

DotRen, So if nothing was wrong, why did DT block key witnesses from testifying???

Some of the economic boost that the U.S. is seeing is the direct result of deregulation of environmental standards which is gonna kill us in the long run. I suppose it's akin to subsistance farmers in the Amazon burning down the rain forest to get land so they can grow enough to survive. When people are out of work it's easier to not think about climate change. Immediate needs will always win out over long-term goals. I don't have an answer.

This morning I'm hearing criticism of Bloomberg because he said Corey Booker was "well spoken." Evidently because Booker is black that was politically incorrect. Maybe I'm wrong, but I have to say that I think sometimes "political correctness" gets pushed way past the boundaries of common sense. Yes, I recognize the sentiment behind the complaint, but I don't think it was intended to be derogatory in any way. I'm not defending Bloomberg, but it did not come across negatively to me. I think Booker is well spoken too. I think Pete Buttigieg is well spoken. I think Elizabeth Warren is well spoken. Often I think Joe Biden is not very well spoken, and sometimes Bernie is not so well spoken either. For me, I hear that as a compliment not as a derogatory remark. I understand that we have to think about how our remarks are perceived by others, because what we are saying is not always what someone else is hearing but I also think we can go too far with analyzing every remark. If we're not careful we're going to reach a point where candidates are afraid to openly say anything without having run it through a panel of experts first. IMO, we need to stop being so dang critical about everything and listen for meaning rather than hoping for a slip. Just my 2 cents . . .

nashville11 , I think Bloomberg's remark has been brought up to emphasize that he is older and out of touch. This is not my top worry. I saw a big debate on The View about Biden's No Malarkey slogan and how it won't resonate with younger voters. We need to get beyond this nit pickery.

nashville11, I agree. Saying someone is "well spoken" is a compliment. There are a lot of politicians that are tongue tied or simply can't use the correct wording to get their points across. To me, the "well spoken" comment is in reference to the fact that Booker is very good at expressing his thoughts and ideas.

Toilet flushing? This is the issue that has our president concerned? Maybe that's because he's full of _____.

The man is an idiot. A deranged human being. He needs to be in a rubber room instead of the White House.
And yet he doesn't understand why leaders of other countries laugh at him. Hello? It's because he's a joke or a maniac or both.
Where's the hook? He needs to be dragged off the stage and locked up.
Ladies and gentlemen the president of the United States has an important announcement. Don't flush the toilet so much.
And yet he wonders why leaders of other countries, the people of those countries, as well as American citizens, mock him.
He has no idea? None at all?

It's a foregone conclusion that the House is going to impeach so I'm ready to get it over. The only question there is will any Democrats be afraid to vote for it, and I expect there will be some who are afraid of losing their seats in JA country which will give him even more ammunition. So I suppose the primary question now is will it be a real trial or a show trial? Will any of the people who refused to come before the House committees testify? Who will be called to testify? Will Justice Roberts do his Constitutional duty in presiding, or will he allow it to be ultimately just be a sham. Mitch McConnell is sure to try and make it as much a reality show with the JA as the hero as possible. We'll see just how much he's able to get away with it soon I suppose.

This whole impeachment is going to be turned into a "s**t show" by McConnell & the GOP in the Senate. My tummy turns everytime I hear people like Cruz & others defend this JA. Remember when Cruz used to be the most hated man in Congress....LOL....Even his Republican counterparts talked bad about him right out in the open. Now he's joined by every darn Republican who talks out of both sides of their mouth defending JA.
Someone mentioned this morning on one of the political shows, that when the articles of impeachment are handed down, Nancy should just hold them until all the subpoenaed witnesses testify, thereby taking the control away from McConnell & the Republicans. They said that McConnell can set rules saying no new info will be admitted during the Senate trial & this way, Nancy holds the cards by holding up the trial in the Senate giving the Dems more time to get new evidence out into the public. I'm not sure about this. I do think its rushed, but dragging it out, I'm not sure will work either. I'm getting very scared that JA is going to win another term & I just imagine civil unrest like we have not seen for quite awhile.
Denny Heick (WA) is retiring, He said his soul is just weary with all that is going on with JA. We need guys like him, but I totally get it. I think America's soul is weary & sad since 2016!

I believe I've already seen (probably on CNN) at least one Dem House rep is not going to vote for impeachment as his district is in Trump Country.
Along with DT's water pressure rant, he complained about new light bulbs: said they make a person look orange and he doesn't like that. I'm not kidding.
When a white person says a black person is well-spoken or articulate, it is taken as an insult implying that this is unusual and to be highlighted. I know the white person doesn't mean this (mostly) and thinks they are being complimentary, but that is just the way it is these days.

LOL! So it's the light bulbs that make him look orange. Who knew? Wonder what makes the white circle around his eyes? Personally, I think it's the Big Macs that make him fat. All that golf isn't helping one bit, of course when you ride in a cart, someone carries your bag, and all you do is swing it's probably very tiring for him. I'm amazed he has time to think about important issues like toilet flushes and light bulbs with an orange cast. Maybe he'll put Jared on fixing those issues along with fixing the world.
