Amen to that DotRen! Linda, I can see Kamala making a good VP pick. Of course, with that we're assuming that a man is going to get the nomination. LOL! And, let's face it. That's the most likely scenario that a man ends up with the nomination. If so they'd do well to choose a VP from one of the women. If Elizabeth should get it, as she has the best chance as far as the women go, who would make a good VP pick for her? Definitely not Bernie as she'd need someone closer to center. Biden, I don't think, would accept VP again. Maybe Mayor Pete or Yang? Chances are she'd choose from outside the primary candidates. I haven't listened to any of the hearing today. Anything interesting going on, or is it just all sucking up to He With The Tiny Hands as usual?

Senator Cruz is working overtime to out the whistleblower from the way his questions are presented...:-(
Most questions are just rehash, but there have been some interesting ones, I thought. Of course the Republicans aren't really listening to the answers, I would think.

I'm starting to get a vision of Johnny Carson as the Great Karnak every time Roberts gets handed a question. I think I'm getting punchy from watching this too long.

This just struck me as funny, "Portion of US border wall in California falls over in high winds and lands on Mexican side" -- CNN website

What a disgusting, shameful mess this whole Impeachment Proceeding has become with the Republican Senators cheering Dershowitz argument that a President can basically do anything he wants if "he" thinks its in his best interest & the countries to win an election any which way he can illegally. UGH!
Rand Paul's question was rejected by John Roberts because he named the Whistleblower. Oh, gee, now he is whining about that. They are just bound & determined to say the whistleblowers name. Isn't there a price to pay for that?
My thinking to today, is just forget the rest of the questions & vote today. Nothing is going to change anyway.

Linda, I agree. I am just sick and tired of the whole mess. No matter what, whether there are witnesses or not, the Republicans are not going to convict. That's been a given from the very beginning. So I'm ready to just move forward. The outcome is the same no matter what. He will relish this and now nothing will hold him back, not that it was anyway. And I think the odds are good that he'll get re-elected. As for Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, and the rest of them they are slimy hypocrites, but nothing has changed there either. The entire Republican party disgusts me now. In the past I disagreed with most of their political stances, but I had respect for them. I no longer have any respect for them at all.

This pretty well sums up Republican hypocrisy . . .

If the president thinks his re-election is in the national interest, it's OK if he tries anything to get re-elected because it's in the national interest. Per Dershowitz. Isn't this what took down Nixon? We are doomed.

Who knew we'd ever look back and wish we could go back to the Nixon era? By the time this JA is through with the country, we're going to think Nixon was a choirboy.

nashville11 , Nixon was a wrong 'un, but Congress did the right thing at the time. Now the Senate is bending precedent, law, and reason into pretzels to get away with anything and everything.

And you know good and well that when Trump is not convicted in the Senate (I won't say acquitted because he IS guilty) he'll go on a twitter rant about how he is INNOCENT, and the whole trail was a sham. But we the people know that he is always and forever impeached.

I saw a retweet on the GDT that seems to be an explanation for the way the Senate is behaving. This is from a guy, Evan McMullin, a former CIA ops office and GOP policy director.
"Republican leaders in Congress believe - and privately say - that they fear the country is quickly changing in ways that may soon deprive them of power and that they must use the power they have now to delay it as long as possible, even by harming the Republic if necessary."

This is a waste of money, a waste of time, and a distraction.
It's also a pathetic reality show that makes soap operas look like interesting and meaningful tv shows.
No surprise being that we have a pathetic reality show host sitting in the Oval Office.
It's not politics. It's mindless and boring made for tv drama.
Aren't you wondering what's really going on in the world? I mean besides the donny and friends game show?
We are a nation without a leader. Without a vision. How long until it all comes crumbling down?

These Senators that want to out the whistleblower are nothing but pathetic cowards. They want someone else to name the whistleblower because they know its against the law to out a whistleblower & there are penalties for that. So, instead of doing it themselves, they are trying their darndest to make someone else do it. SHAMEFUL COWARDS! If they believe the whistleblower should be outed, man up, do it yourself & take the blowback that comes your way!
