Good catch Fin, I deleted it since I wasn't sure when DotRen would be back to see your post. Rene's first *POOF* welcome to the club girl!!! 🤣 I emailed ReneinItaly to check on her. She is taking a mini-break and will be back 😉

Various colleges and schools in NJ are closing, some briefly for cleaning and some going to cyberEducation at least for the time being.
We have no cases in our immediate vicinity at this time.
Son#1 reports that someone from his company (who is currently in China) has CoVid19. No one in the office does. But they are discussing options (his group can work from home).

Massive shutdowns in Ohio. Schools, colleges, events, sports.
What on earth is the deal with toilet paper? Shelves are bare.

Here in central CA regular grocery stores still have toilet paper on the shelves. A lot of small businesses use Costco and Sam’s Club and those shoppers always have carts filled with multiple items.

What on earth is the deal with toilet paper? Shelves are bare. We haven't had any confirmed cases in my area yet but I'm seeing the effects at my stores. We still have toilet paper on the shelves but the name brands are gone. We also still have wipes but probably won't by next week. There's definitely no hand sanitizer on the shelves. I can't imagine what it'll be like once we have confirmed cases.

Ok toilet paper funny. I was a charmin only type until I bought the HEB Our Finest brand. Now here's the funny part: charmin rolls have gotten shorter over the years. If you put one next to the HEB one, the HEB one is over 1/2" taller and 1/4" wider(yes, I measured). Which translates to a 9 pack of the HEB having about 1 more roll (for less $$) than a 9 pack of Charmin (Or angel soft, yes, I measured that one, too lol). It's kind of like when tuna went from a 6oz can to a 5oz can, or when frozen veggies and bacon went from 16oz to 12oz - no price change, just less product.

We have had a LOT of cases here and I have to say the only things that seem not to be available are hand sanitizer and N95 masks. There is toilet paper on the shelves (although it might not be your preferred brand), disinfectant sprays and wipes (Lysol, Clorox, store brands), tissues, bleach, etc. I haven't been to Costco since this all began and probably won't be going (waaaay too crowded, no matter what day or time of day) but I hear that the shelves of "essentials" there are pretty bare, and of course no hand sanitizer. The only price-gouging I have heard about is in the small Mom-and-Pop stores and on Amazon. My sister-in-law was looking for an N95 mask and the cheapest one she could find, on Amazon, was $40 and even that might have been a scam. DotRen, I have discovered some great store brand items when I've had to buy a non-favorite because my regular brand was not available! And about those size changes---gotta love how a "pound" of coffee is now, what, 10.5 ounces?
