Judy it was wonderful to read all about your family visit.

Good Afternoon, WW Friends ~
Happy Monday!! I work up early this morning and got right up as I needed to pack DH's lunch and empty the dishwasher and wanted some quiet time with my tablet and coffee before getting into the shower. It all worked!
Unfortunately, I did not sleep well last night. I took a couple of cat naps in the afternoon, then DH told me he was experiencing shortness of breath again, and I read some - so all in all I did not get restful sleep. Maybe tonight? I called our PCP's office this morning and left him a message about DH. With the antibiotic he got better, but now that he's been off it for over a week, not only is the shortness of breath back but so is the productive cough and wheezing at night. We hope to hear back from his office sometime today.
I have tomorrow off as it is Election Day and our teachers will have a Professional Development Day but not students, so no need for us. I plan to go to an exercise class tomorrow morning and then meet a girlfriend for lunch.
Tonight I am cooking some pork chops in my Instant Pot with sweet potato tots and a vegetable.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Hi all,
I am trying to remain calm with all this craziness swirling around us. I think working at a University makes it even more so with all the high alert for students, staff and faculty traveling all over all the time and so many international students. Today we canceled most domestic travel and all big events of over 100. It's been a wild ride since we have four big events over the next month to CA, DC, FL and other states. I am going to cancel my own trip to San Francisco, too. I'm so sad and I hate to have to tell DD tonight, but she will understand. Our university has banned all travel to CA.
Other than that, it is a delightful day today at near 70 degrees. The students are sprawled all over the lawn! We have another delivery coming from Hello Fresh tonight and I hope it is not two boxes this time! LOL I cooked up ALL of it over the weekend and am glad my DS was able to consume most of it. Thankfully, he ate ALL the rest of the pizza for breakfast - lol - before he left today. I saw them off about 8 AM and came into work. Sad to see them go. They are moving into their new home in a few weeks. It was all moved up. I am amazed how quickly home closings happen today!
Have a great day, Ann and Sue. Sue, so sorry about your DH's shortness of breath. That's a worry, I know. Your InstantPot dinner sounds great. Ann, enjoy this beautiful day on your hood walks with Miss Lula!
I'll bbl.

Back from all our running around. It is simply beautiful out there today. It reached 68 earlier and not sure what it is right now. I'm liking it Although I am not a traveler, I can so understand people cancelling out, Judy. I know you are making a wise decision. It's just so scary and frustrating as there are appointments that you must keep. I have a dental appointment tomorrow to get my crown! Thank goodness they called to remind me as I had the wrong time written down on the calendar. Now I have extra time to 'goof off' in the a.m. Today I have my manicure/pedicure for 4:15. I can use the pampering for sure. LOL Judy I hope you just get your correct order this time I'm still chuckling over all the food you had delivered. Yeah to DS helping you out in the food department. He needs a gold star Sue so sorry you slept poorly. Hope you get better results tonight. Nice that you have tomorrow off to spend the day as you choose. Keeping DH in my prayers. I hope the shortness of breath is short lived. We so worry about our spouses... Well, I need to get a move on. I want to 'spiff up' before getting pampered Waving to Pam and will try to CBL....if not, see y'all in the morning.

Hello my WW Friends!
Sue - Sorry to hear DH is feeling under the weather again so soon. He probably just needed another round of antibiotics. I'm sure the doctor will get it all straight, but still, it's worrisome for you both.
Ann - How nice for you to have warmer weather. Spring is just around the corner. Enjoy your mani-pedi!
Judy - I'm glad you got in some quality baby time. I fully understand how tiring chasing a toddler can get. I am in the same boat as you are with your trip to CA--wanting to visit DD & DGKs, yet afraid of getting on a plane and sharing air with lord knows what germs. Nor do I want to get exposed and have to self-quarantine away from home. I am not so much afraid for myself as I am of giving it to DH, whose health is not as good. I have decided not to buy a plane ticket at this time. If things are better in June and I can go, I'll just have to pay more for the ticket. So we can commiserate.
I went into town today to take care of hospice office duties for my supervisor and make a visit on her behalf. The nursing home I visited has closed all but one entrance and I had to complete an affidavit regarding travel/possible illness. One of the other facilities is requiring that, plus a temperature check to gain admittance. We also learned the state health inspectors will be visiting often and will only be checking for infection control procedures for the foreseeable future.
Interesting times, to be sure! LA has a case in the NOLA area and I'm sure more will pop up, now that the tests are readily available. It does seem odd that there was no uproar over the 34-49 million flu cases this season with the death toll between 20-50,000+. And that's just in the USA! Less than 4,000 deaths world-wide for coronavirus, so far, so what gives? Panic-buying, stock market crashing and entire states declaring emergencies! I am truly mystified!
DD3 called to update me on the raccoon that spent the day in her yard yesterday and was still there today. Her BIL offered to take care of it with a bow and arrow, but by the time he got there, it had moved to the front yard, so they called the local police, so as not to upset the neighbors. The animal was staggering and probably rabid. The police decided it would cause less commotion in the neighborhood if he shot it with the bow & arrow rather than them firing a pistol. It is now at rest in the garbage can. There was a rabid fox killed by the police shortly before they moved into this house. For a subdivision, they sure have lots of wild life around! Lots of deer, turkeys and rabbits, too.
DH has gone off to a meeting. I will alternate laundry duties with some reading. Stay well, my friends!

Pam we also have various animals roaming around. Added to that list are black bear mouse fisher cats and fox. Whenever anyone sees something out of the ordinary, we are told to either call animal control or the police and they come and take proper measures. Once I remember someone from animal control coming down when a black bear was across the street from us...he clapped his hands and the bear took off. He told us that if we walk at night it's a good idea to carry a whistle and blow it. To this day I have one on my key ring. Thank goodness I've never had to use it! I agree that we are in interesting times. I am treating this virus as I would any other virus. We are not strangers to washing our hands sneezing in a tissue when available or in our elbow and we do keep the bathrooms and kitchen clean at all times. OTher than that, you really can't put yourself in a bubble. I shopped today and made sure that I used the hand sanitizers that were readily available and washed again when I came home. Carl and I are not travelers so we don't run a risk there. I must say that all this shopping, hood walking and going to get my manicure and pedicure surely did tire me out. Time for a nice cup of coffee...the sectional...and my kindle. Sweet dreams

Good morning all. Slept fitfully last night. I'm attributing that to being overtired. I'm grateful that my dental appointment is not until 2 p.m. so that I can rest up before going. Nothing pressing on the agenda.
Wishing all a pleasant OP day and I'll CBL

Hi all,
Back from another COVID-19 meeting. I agree with you, Pam, on the craziness of it all. Yes, it is a real threat, and I thought it might be the fact that I am working at a college with loads of students from all over the world living in close quarters that makes us all on high alert, but evidently it is all of us. I have not yet called DD to tell her I have to postpone my trip./ She is so excited about the birthday party for our DGD and the magician coming etc. Plus it is her birthday as well and her friend is planning a big party for her. It's all she has been working on for a few weeks other than her job. I'm devastated to miss it. But, I have no real choice now and we will have to celebrate later on. I do dread telling her, though. But, Pam, what you said is so true. I cannot risk exposing my own DH to anything like that. His health is not good right now.
I have to go to the hospital tomorrow for a ecco-cardiogram (routine) and I don't really want to be in a hospital - THAT is where you get sick. LOL Like Ann said, we must carry on and live our lives.
Sue, I hope your DH is doing better today and the shortness of breath is going away.
On a high note, I went to WW this morning and I am down 1.4 lbs. I attribute a lot of it to the high activity I was on all weekend with my DGS infant who crawls at lightning speed and is always headed for danger. LOL He is taking a few steps, but drops down fast and zooms away. His favorite activity was crawling up the stairs with me spotting him from behind. We probably had 10 trips up and down each day. :-) Also, DD and DSIL don't want the TV on with him (very little) so we play all day long. They came with a lot of toys and I had none at this house. So, when he grew tired of his own, I pulled out the good old pots and pans with wooden spoons and he was delighted! So funny. He banged away a long time.
All for now and I'll bbl. Make it a great day, friends. It's another warm one here - close to 70 again here. Yay! But, highly unusual for March!!

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Thanks so much for all your understanding and encouragement regarding my worries about my DH. He is getting tired of being sick, and especially with having to struggle to catch his breath sometimes. I’ve never seen him quite this discouraged. BUT on a brighter note, our PCP called him in a Z-Pak and the pharmacy filled it promptly and he was able to pick it up on the way home yesterday and take the first (double) dose last evening. He is better, but still not encouraged that it’ll stay that way. On the other bright side, I slept very well last night! We went to bed early and actually slept in a bit this morning, so I’m back to being ME!!
Yay for those of you who have nice weather! We have 41 rainy degrees right now that feels like 32. I have been to the Fitness Studio for my first work-out class and I absolutely LOVED it! My partner at work has a friend/neighbor who works there, and sure enough she was my instructor today. I found these classes more challenging than the Silver Sneakers ones I used to attend. I met two ladies who used to also work out at my previous gym and they like this one MUCH better! I found out all the classes will continue through the Summer which is when I’ll get most of my work outs. Right now the Yoga class on this Saturday is on my calendar, and I adjusted the time for lunch with VBF accordingly.
Judy ~ I can only imagine how disappointed you are with having to cancel your trip. But I agree that it is the most prudent thing to do. I am sure you are more affected by this as it impacts your University schedules and activities. Michigan has been lucky so far, but last night they reported cases in Ohio which isn’t all that far away. I would not travel at this time either. Congrats on your WL!! Maybe you need to rent or borrow a toddler part time?? <LOL>
Pam ~ I am with you on being mystified with some of the reactions to this virus. While I do believe it is a health emergency, I am leery of the people who are making it their own personal emergency (like by stock piling supplies). I also compared the statistics of the flu with the corona virus, and it is odd. Even taking into account that there is a vaccine and treatment for the flu, many deaths have resulted. One DJon the radio the other day mentioned “Do we think this would be getting so much hype if it wasn’t an election year?” It did give me food for thought (but, no, I am not downplaying it at all).
Ann ~ I am so glad you will get to get gussied up today. I know how much that helps. When I got my hair cut last Friday it immediately raised my mood. Sorry you didn’t sleep well. I just had one of those nights myself, so I can truly sympathize. But the next night is usually more than worth it (at least mine was). I agree that normal precautions are the best defense. Today at the gym we all wiped down all the stuff we were going to use (weights, bands, drumsticks, etc) with Clorox wipes which were sitting out.
I do wonder if overall we will see a decrease in other viruses due to people being more conscientious about cleanliness??
So, I finally got pork chops done to perfection (in my book) last night. The first time I did them in the Instant Pot, I was disappointed as they were not quite as tender as I would have liked and I didn’t season them enough. Last night they were wonderful! Tonight I am going to grill tilapia loins (which we haven’t had in forever) and put them on my Costco list for later in the week (after the new sale starts). I also cooked up a new batch of (4) HB eggs while I had the Instant Pot out. I love those!!
It is time to get ready for lunch with my GF. I had to cancel with her a few weeks ago because I was still sick, so I am really looking forward to this one. Then it’s back home to my laundry and perhaps reading.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Back from a hood walk. It started out sunny then clouds rolled in then it warmed up. Now that we are home it's bright and sunny out there. Go figure. Mother Nature can't make up her mind...but we'll take it Sue so happy that DH was able to get his Rx and that it's already kicking in. Praying or a full recovery this time around. I had that thought as well...so many people now are taking precautions to guard themselves and loved ones against the virus. Hopefully they will keep up their efforts at all time. Happy that the pork chops came out to your liking. We have left over beef and veggies in the instant pot now on crock pot mode. Once I get out of the dentist, we'll pick up a few odds and ends and come home to a nice hot meal just waiting for us. Glad that the gym is a good fit. Enjoy lunch with your GF. Speaking of laundry...my bell just went off Later........

Hi all,
I’m relaxing a bit watching NCIS after paying bills. I made another Hello Fresh dinner which was really delicious- spinach and ricotta ravioli with a chicken sausage bolognese type sauce. Not too caloric, either and mainly that’s because the portions are not huge.
I was cleaning out my my bathroom closet and discovered a nice facial peel which I applied for a boost. It really felt good and my skin feels very soft. It was a Mary Kay peel I’d forgotten about. Shop in your own closets, they say! True.
Sue, glad your DH is feeling better. Thank goodness for meds! I know it’s a worry-these guys cause us to lose sleep!
Ann, hope you’re relaxing and waving to Pam who I am sure is as busy as ever!
Have a a good night all!
