Meant to add that I have enjoyed the Silver Sneakers online classes and I would love to join but I don't think I qualify with my BC/BS PPO MEDEX. I have a call into them to see. I wonder if I can pay to join. Doesn't appear I can! Does anyone know? Sue?

LOL Judy...yup I remember that one as well. Funny but it popped into my head when Carl and I were out just now walking LuLa and we laughed our heads off on 'jamoke' It's all those little things that perk us up. You never know that sometimes just what a person says can add a smile to their day Thanks for that! sorry for you work computer mishap, Judy. Glad it's all fixed and you are good to go. Enjoy your zoom and face book chats I'm looking forward to chatting via zoom in my meeting tonight. Hopefully I'll see some familiar faces If not I'll just hang in there and enjoy. We did take a nice hood walk! It's windy out there but while we were out, we did have sunshine. We are supposed to have rain. If that happens I'll take the walking inside the house. If not, I'll walk again. I so enjoy that clean fresh air on my face Judy the chicken strips that I buy are all cooked and yes, I use the air fryer. They come out wonderful in that. Just finished lunch. For some reason I was extra hungry when I woke up. Had breakfast lunch and a snack already and it's only 12:27!!!! I am tracking and hydrating so it's all good. Will CBL

Good morning Cafe Dwellers!
We were hungry this morning, too, and have just finished a brunch of grits, scrambled eggs with green onions, ham & cheese and Dave's Killer bread toast. I will have some fruit or veggies if I get hungry before dinner time.
It's another beautiful spring day and I will spend the afternoon outdoors doing something.
DH has tried to make grocery orders of fresh veggies at both Super 1 and Walmart. Super 1 won't even take the order and Walmart appears to be out of what we need. Then I remembered the vegetable stand not far from us. Their fb page indicates they have a good selection of what we need and are limiting to 10 shoppers at a time. We plan to be there when they open tomorrow, hoping there won't be many other shoppers then.
I tried watching a movie on Crackle last night, which is free, but has way too many commercials. Guess I'll stick with whatever I can find on Prime. I'm getting quite a bit of reading done and am limiting myself to one news cast per day. DH watches way more, so I go out and walk and listen to my audio book between 5:00 and 6:30.
I am trying to work up the gumption to get back to tracking when my new WW week starts tomorrow. I should make the WW site some of my required reading today!

Hello, WW Friends ~
Sounds like we're all keeping busy. Sometimes that is a struggle for me. But today I was paying bills and doing online banking. Our Governor gave a press conference this morning officially closing down our schools for this school year. She also said teachers and other school employees would be paid until the end of the school year. That makes it feel a bit better ..... though it doesn't help missing the kiddos!!
Judy ~ I do not have an air fryer, so when I saw the Tyson Air Fried strips my eyes lit up. They are already breaded and fried and then flash frozen. The instructions call for baking them in a conventional oven. I expect we will enjoy them very much! Do look into the Silver Sneakers as we also have BC/BS PPO as the supplement to our Medicare. You can also go on Silver Sneakers website and there is a form you fill out to find out if you’re eligible. Much easier and faster. If you qualify, you can sign up right there and even print yourself a membership card.
Pam ~ The availability of fresh produce seems to vary much by area. We have not had any problems here – Kroger and Meijer both have plenty. Hope trying your fresh stand works out for you.
Ann ~ I woke up hungry too, and was glad it was an Egg McMuffin day. Then I had a smoked turkey sandwich on Dave’s Killer Bread for lunch which really hit the spot!! I still want to shed a few more pounds, so need to stick with it.
My DH has been working outdoors today and so far has put chairs on the patio and the table & chairs on the front porch. This nice sunny weather is encouraging. We've been through the rain and the wind and days on end of clouds, so we're due!!

LOL I bet there was somethin' in the air that made us hungry today We just had supper. I pulled out chili from the freezer and we had that over rice. Quite good and filling. I'm hoping that the bottomless pit isn't going to want MORE of something ELSE later on! The lo meatloaf and roasted chicken just didn't happen. After our second walk of the day I was cold and chili warms me up I also got into my virtual meeting and got to see one gal that I know plus our coach. It was a small meeting but a good one. The topic was on STRESS...... Pam good luck going to the farmer's market. Hopefully it won't be crowded. I still have a list but fortunately we don't need to replenish right now. I went through the big freezer and got things organized. I also went through our canned goods and I swear we could open up a store! We are in pretty good shape. I'd love to get some paper products just in case....and will look for them when we go out again. My new WW week starts tomorrow as well. I am so in the habit of tracking. I do it on the WW site for the wins and I also paper track in the journals that they sell at WW'ers. I also write what I am grateful for in my WW journal which helps me out a lot. I've also been avoiding the news. Carl will read and listen and does it much more than I do. Sue silver lining. At least you are going to get pain. I imagine you would be missing the kids...and them you. I hear you on the 'weather'. Today we had the wind sunshine and then clouds moved in. Right now it's raining. We were fortunate to get in two good walks. Nice that DH has the patio all set up and ready to go Well, time for me to get 'jammified' and read a bit. Sleep well and see y'all in the a.m. for coffee

Good morning WW friends! Another good sleeping night for which I'm grateful. Such a blessing to wake up refreshed and well rested.
I did more snacking than 'normal' last night. I usually have a treat or two on the last weigh in day of the week, but things got out of control. Today shall be better. I've hit that infamous reset button and will plan track hydrate and move. Meals will be lighter today being Friday in Lent, so that will help.
Hopefully I'll get to walk the hood. Right now it's not raining.
Waving...and will CBL

Good Afternoon, WW Friends ~
TGIF!! I woke up early this morning and got up and enjoyed my coffee while playing on my tablet. I had quite a list for Meijer and wanted to go early. I don't like the atmosphere in the store during "Senior Hours" (nor did my VBF) so I go in the morning - just not early. DH and I had breakfast together then dressed and I headed out. I spent a lot more than usual, but remembered that I bought several items that I usually buy at Costco. I also added some toiletry items. Since our Costco is only allowing a certain number of people in the store, and there are long lines outside waiting to get in, I will be doing my shopping at Meijer (exclusively) for the time being. It is closer and easier.
So I found Charmin and bought 2 more big packs. Now we are set for as long as this lasts. I also got an extra bag of coffee just so I don't get low. Can't imagine mornings without my coffee !! I added to my supply of canned vegetables, canned fruits and rice and pasta mixes. We have plenty of meat in the freezer, but needed extra sides. I replaced our turkey sausages and picked up some Lunchables for DH. Now that we're both eating lunch at home, it was getting tedious. I drink a Premier Protein shake for lunch at school; but hadn't had one since we got out (March 12th). I had half dozen or so in the fridge, so I had one for lunch today. I also picked up an additional carton of cottage cheese as we both like it with canned NSA peaches. My pretzels were low (and stale) so I bought a new bag. ALSO we were almost out of Halos, and I think their season will be over soon, so I bought an additional 3 lb bag of them. DH and I each had a HB egg with a Halo for a morning snack since we had eaten breakfast early.
Tonight we are having leftover Jet's Pizza (Detroit Style deep dish) with a salad. The pizza was in our freezer and is thawing now. DH will make his famous delicious salad. He just restocked our salad makings the other day. We took our first hood walk this morning; and plan another one for this afternoon. We have sunshine and low 60's which will be marvelous. Now that we have chairs on the patio and the porch, I see some outdoor time in our future.
There is chatter on our news channels that the President may make it mandatory for people to wear masks when out in public. I don't even own a mask!! Now is certainly not the time to try to buy them?? Don't know how they intend for that to make sense. Oh well, I guess we'll see .........
Ann ~ I totally agree about the importance of a good night's sleep! I woke feeling great this morning!
Judy ~ I went on SilverSneakers.com and found you can still check availability AND enroll there. Let me know how it works out for you. I LOVE my Silver Sneakers!!
BBL. Make a great day!

Good morning!
DH and I headed out this morning to get some fresh veggies at a nearby vegetable stand. He stayed in the car and I went to the open-air shed, which had rules about the number of people allowed (10) and social distancing (6ft.)but few seemed to be paying attention. It made me VERY nervous. I got what I could--lettuce, cucumber, squash, zucchini and mustard greens--and checked out. Not sure we will do that again.
We talked with DD2 last night and will hopefully meet up with her at DD1's this weekend for an outdoor, well-spaced family gathering. We will bring her some canned and frozen goods, one of the heads of lettuce I got today and her birthday present from mid-March. I am really looking forward to laying eyes on everyone, even if we can't touch. She said she was also looking forward to getting out of her apartment for a while, even though she has been meeting with friends on Zoom and face-time.
After our trip to town, DH and I drove north over the spillway to see how high the river has gotten, since we heard they will open the Bonne Carre spillway near NOLA today. It is pretty high here, but I have seen it higher. It creates a giant lake which was very pretty with the sun sparkling on it. It was nice to have a little change of scenery.
As we drove back down our street, we noticed a cop stopped in the road. After he got back in the car and drove off, we learned from Dee, who was out taking a stroll with her walker, that he stopped to save her from a dog that was chasing her. That particular animal has also chased me and is one reason I rarely walk that way. She said the cop came close to tasing the animal. I hope he gave the owner what-for. Aside from that, Dee is SO happy to be back in the old neighborhood and it seems to be helping her physically and mentally. I hope she gets to stay, even after the pandemic.
I was up 1.5 at WI today, which was not a surprise with the way I have been eating. I am pledging to start tracking again today and to get back to planning meals and exercising. Funny, but the exercising, usually my weak point, has been going pretty well for a change.
All my outdoor time has resulted in several insect bites on my face and neck. I told DH that if I get sick, they will need to check me for West Nile Virus, too, lol. Actually, I think most of what I have is gnat bites and I plan to be more careful about wearing vanilla spray when I go out.
Like Ann, I will eat light today for Lent. Dinner tonight will be shrimp in a little of the leftover Alfredo sauce over a leftover baked potato, with California mix and mustard greens as sides. DH and I split a large baked potato the other night, hence one left to share tonight. Lunch will be tuna salad, fruit and baby carrots.
I finally got all the poinsettias and all the chrysanthemums planted yesterday, after talking about it for weeks. Time to decide on a new project. I'll keep you posted.

Good afternoon all. I have to say that it felt WONDERFUL being able to get out while the getting was good and take a quick hood walk! The air felt so great on my face. It was drizzling at little but that was fine by me. My hair can't look any worse than it does right now along with my fingernails. In a way it's good that I can't go out in public LOL. Sue that is awesome that you scored well at your local grocery store. I too will be avoiding BJ's as the last time we went although it wasn't crowded the shelves were not well stocked with the items that we wanted. Not to mention it's a drive out there. I'll happily go to Hannaford's to get what we need. Funny, but last time Carl went to Market Basket during the senior hours he said it was mobbed. He went the other day to pick up essentials on off hours and was in and out of their in record time. He got there late morning after picking up the flea and tick and heartworm pills for LuLa. We shall keep that in mind next time we go out. Right now we are pretty well set so no need to stock up. Ouch to the bites, Pam. I never knew that vanilla spray kept gnats away! Will have to remember that. Is there a certain brand that you get? I am a mosquito gnat and bug magnet, I need all the help I can get. Luckily I've only seen a few flying insects in our walks and they haven't noticed me. Perhaps they are afraid of the HAIR lol. If that's the case, I'll let it grown the ride you took sounded like a nice diversion. I did attend the WW meeting via zoom and it was nice seeing my leader and only one other member. Maybe it will catch on as time goes by. Then again, I'm sure some meetings are busier than others. I am going to sit now and finish my book. Have a few chapters left. TTFN stay safe and healthy...Judy...waving

Ann - I have a small travel-sized spray bottle I fill with water and enough vanilla to make the water gold/light brown. It works amazingly well. I didn't do much today, but did track my food, get in a walk and watered my newly-planted plants. As I started my walk down toward my brother's end of the street, I found my DSIL, my niece, great-niece & great nephew sitting in the driveway, so stopped to chat quite a while before the gnats finally convinced me to get moving. I hadn't sprayed myself as the gnats don't bother when I'm walking, but standing in the driveway, they nearly drove me crazy. I have a date this evening with little Madison. I will read her bedtime stories via facebook.

While searching the Internet for masks ...... I actually found a DIY one that does not require a sewing machine. I had a bandana sized woven scarf that I tried it with and it was perfect. We cut up one of DH's old T-shirts and made him one, as well as a spare. That was quite a night's accomplishment for me.
Off to shower now and get ready for some R & R with TV time, DH and then a good night's sleep.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Saturday!! We had beautiful sunshine while we ate breakfast, but now I see that it is clouding up. DH told me it is supposed to rain later, so I better get at least my first walk done soon. Yesterday he and I both walked twice and I did a few reps on my Power Rider. Every little bit helps!!
Ann ~ So sorry you did not sleep well. That happens to me frequently when the weather is changing and I saw that there was a 'front' in your area. Hope you catch up with a nap this afternoon and even better, a good night's sleep tonight.
I have started my first load of laundry and dressed. I've been wearing sloppy clothes, and decided to dress better today. Not in my "Sunday Go To Meeting" clothes, but every day wear. I think it will help my attitude. We had oatmeal with blueberries which were delicious. Last week we had most of a container left-over when DH shopped and bought a new one, so I popped them in the freezer. They were perfect this morning. Tonight is leftover Venison Chili Mac with a side of coleslaw.
BBL. Make a great day!

Hey all,
i missed yesterday because cause it was a very busy work day and I also spent a big chunk of time trying to help our DD apply for the Paycheck Protection Plan with Chase. None of the banks were ready and still waiting for federal info. She finally was able to start the application but the message from Chase is that she needs to wait till they contact her. Same message went to all applicants. She’s a basket case that she’ll miss a call and it’s nerve-racking. It’s a very stressful time when you lose your income! We are very blessed to be in good shape and getting paid, etc. Her expenses in CA are astronomical. More on this situation later, but the DGKs are good. DGD got a new bike for her bd and loves it. She’s flying around the playground!
Our DS and DDIL are moving to a new home. DDIL and the baby have gone to her parents while our DS coordinates and takes care of coordinating the movers and actual move. Then he plans to self quarantine for two weeks just in case he was exposed to anything during the move and all the people he came in contact with. Then she will join him at the new house. So for now he and his German Shepherd dog are in the new digs.
My DH just left for a trip to the Cape just to check things.
I slept well last night but it was sort of a difficult work week. I find it hard to work remotely especially along the lines of good communication from people above me. My boss is not a great communicator but it’s much better when I am in the office with him so that I can read his words in person rather than try to interpret them through email. Email can be rough and misinterpreted . So I try to take it with a grain of salt and just do the best I can. I realize that many of my colleagues are feeling exactly as I am. We had a big 40 person zoom social gathering last night. It was a little awkward with that many people but we shared what shows we’re watching, what books we are reading, what we’re cooking and that sort of stuff. At least I saw the faces of some of the people I really miss. I still can’t really get over what a shocking times we are going through. When you think about it, it’s truly a biblical experience as the world has basically shut down. All from eating strange food in a live market and to think that one person started this whole thing. Yuck.
I’ve also been cleaning out file cabinets and I’ve gotten rid of three big hefty size trash bags of all documents and old papers that I don’t want to shred but instead will go to a huge Wheelabrator incinerator in our town.
I am really enjoyed reading all of your personal posts, and I will get back later with different comments. Thanks everyone. You’ve helped to keep my spirits up during this tough time.
