Oh, one thing I wanted to add is that I have to agree with Sue and Ann about the craziness of the early senior hours at the grocery stores. I haven’t gone but my friends tell me that they are a nightmare! My DH went out about 10 in the morning the other day and found it very uncrowded and easy to navigate with lots of food. That was at our Stop & Shop.

This is why I wasn't online much yesterday......... Friday we had a horrible ordeal with water issues. I was washing clothes and heard a gurgling sound....the washer and both toilets overflowed. We had a good inch of water in both bathrooms and kitchen. I worked at sopping up the mess with towels. Carl was on the phone calling for a plumber. He reached one and they came on Saturday. He looked under the house (we live in a prefab) and one section was filled with waste! We also had to call service pro to come out and clean under the house! All is fixed. We have 4 HUGE fans under the house and those need to be on for the next 4 days. We can't use our dryer as that outlet is what the fans are plugged into. New normal? You bet...but we'll get through this. Not sure whether the retirement community will reimburse us for the plumber and at this point I really don't care. He said there is a 'pipe issue' with the pike going uphill and that added to the problem. He is going to get in touch with the office on Monday. It was just so overwhelming that I couldn't bring myself to write about it as that would make me think about it if that makes any sense. Thanks for listening....it's okay here now....God is good

Oh, no, Ann. That is horrible. I feel awful for you. I’m glad you do not have a basement! This happened to my neighbor with a sewer backup and his basement filled with waste. UGH....he had to move out so I’m glad your issue is a little better. That’s just a very discouraging and yucky thing to have to deal with on top of all of this other anxiety we are already feeling. I hope the fans do their job and I hope you’re reimbursed for the plumber. But I think God you were able to get a plumber over right now. I’ll be thinking of you and I hope you get some peace of mind today. Do a nice escape activity like reading your book or binging a good Netflix show.
I steam cleaned the kitchen floor and it feels a lot better now. The sun is coming out so maybe I’ll get out for a walk and I’m working on reading a book. I plan to make a Mexican casserole in a little bit with ground beef flour, tortillas, refried beans fat-free variety, corn, black beans and some low-fat Mexican cheese along with enchilada sauce. I make a lot of Mexican food and just kind of wing it depending on what I have around. Thankfully I have a lot around right now! Have a good day everyone and I will check in later. Take care Ann and all else. As Gilda Radnor used to say, it’s always something! TTFN

Lol Judy. Thanks for the Gilda Radner saying. Put a smile on our faces I also thank God that it was fixed in a timely fashion. Just got back from a nice hood walk. Felt good to be out and about. Take care and stay safe.

Good Afternoon, WW Friends ~
We've had a nice Sunday so far. I am struggling each morning to NOT wake up with "oh well, another day" attitude. That isn't like me, but this self isolation could become very tiring. Oh well, another day and the sun is shining! It wasn't this morning, but I went out for 2 laps around the complex while DH went to Kroger and restocked our fruits & vegetables. He also picked us up some treats (Spicy Chicken Sandwiches from Checkers for lunch and a DQ Blizzard for us to split tonight). What a guy ......
After he got home (and in between shows I wanted to watch) I made a third trip around the complex. We'll do our final one for the day together later one. I ended up with 3 laps yesterday so I'm increasing almost daily. We made Belgian waffles for breakfast with bacon and maple SF syrup. YUM!! So very good!! I was planning on a very light lunch, but he brought home the sandwiches, so we enjoyed them. Tomorrow is another day....
We watched Dr. Charles Stanley of In Touch Ministries together when I got back and he got everything put away. We just discovered him since we've been staying home and enjoy him very much. He preaches simple, down to earth, and in line with our beliefs (and isn't a tele-evangelist so doesn't ask for money). :-)
Ann~ I am so very sorry about your mishap!! That is a terrible thing to happen any time, but at this trying time it is especially awful!! Glad you were able to get a plumber out right away and that he knew what to do. It's always something .... but this is over and above. Hope your day improves greatly!!
Judy ~ Did you happen to see my note about Silver Sneakers? If you go on Silversneakers.com there is an eligibility form right there and they can tell you on the spot if you qualify, and sign up if you do. Did your DH make it back from the Cape, or did he spend the night??
BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue thank you. I hear you on self isolation being tiring. Great job getting in additional walks. I aim for 3 but take two. Any movement is good in my books.
I have a dull headache. Just going to relax for a bit with some soft music.
Stay safe.

Hi Sue and Ann,
Sue, I did check on Silver Sneakers and they say I am not eligible. We don’t have the Medicare advanced but have an excellent commercial plan from DHs former employer. I even wore to SS to see if I could buy a membership but they don’t operate that way. I could pay to attend some sessions if I wanted to, I guess but I’m liking the online ones. Maybe they have some on You Tube. I’ll check!
Ann, glad that things have calmed down. Was the pipe plugged? Was it slow to drain ahead of time? I hope you get some resolution.
Have a a good evening and Pam!

Judy ~ Bummer that you do not qualify (yet) for Silver Sneakers. How did you get access to the online ones? If that remains available to you, maybe that's the way to go (at least for now).
Ann ~ Today I made 4 walks. I took a double lap this morning; then one "before church" and DH and I just got back from another one. I'll take it!!
When we got back from walking, we cleaned out our front flower beds, hung the wind chimes on the front porch, sat and chatted for a few .... now we're ready to watch a TV show until the news comes on and suppertime.
Take care all .....

Judy ~ I also went grocery shopping on Friday about 9:30 in the morning and my Meijer store was not crowded, I was able to navigate quite well and 95% of the people were very conscious of leaving space. The rest I think were just forgetful? But I was able to stop and wait in an aisle that was full. Also though the shelves were not as full as pre-Covid, I found some of everything available (including TP). They were out of distilled water which is not unusual for that store; but DH brought me home 3 gallons from Kroger on his shopping trip today.
Ann ~ I am already showered and (as you say) jammified and ready for a relaxing evening.
We had leftover turkey tenderloin with a couple of baby golden potatoes with french style green beans and a serving of corn each. DH brought us home DQ Blizzards for a treat. I usually take the top off one and put it in a small ice cream cup and give him the rest. A taste is more than enough.
We plan to watch "ACM Presents: Our Country" on CBS tonight. It is a special on at 8 p.m. and ends at 10:00 which is when we usually head to bed. Sounds like a lovely relaxing evening.
Sweet dreams, all!!
