Welcome to another week! Hopefully it will be a better one for all of us. Sending up my thanks for another good night's sleep.
Last night we had thunder, lightening and very heavy rain and wind. It didn't faze miss LuLa at all. She was too busy chewing a bone to worry about what Mother Nature was throwing our way LOL. Right now all is dry no wind or sunshine. I'm hoping that I can get back to my walking schedule today.
Time to finish all my 'online chores' before coffee.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Monday!! We have another grey one but we are hoping for a bit of sun later. I also slept very well last night. We watched "60 Minutes" and "God Friended Me" then the Living Room Concert on Fox. A very enjoyable evening all in all.
DH has been out foraging this morning, and found small rolls of toilet paper at Kroger along with fresh vegetables; and the Jennie-O Turkey Breast was on sale and we were down to our last one in the freezer, so he brought a new one home with him. THEN he stopped in Meijer and found BIG packs of Charmin on the shelf, so grabbed a couple of them. We probably had about a month's supply downstairs, but now he's added to it, so we have a comfortable margin. That was the only staple I wondered about.
I just watched a news briefing with our Governor and nothing new or unexpected. I think they are very wise to ask retired medical professionals to consider rejoining the efforts. We are definitely under the same guidelines until the end of April. I am interested in seeing how much longer our school district intends to continue paying us??
I put a Honeysuckle White turkey tenderloin in the crock pot this morning along with some baby yellow potatoes. I am thinking I'll cook up a bag of frozen green beans and make a marvelous supper!! I had my plain FF Greek yogurt for breakfast with blackberries and some Fiber One Original. Now to think of lunch; but I have plenty of SP so no worries. :-) My scale is continuing to slowly but sure drop which is providing additional entertainment for me.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue happy to see you. Nice that you and DH are keeping busy. Us as well. Took a walk earlier. It was cut short as it's quite cold out there. Breakfast and lunch are done. We are having roast beef sandwiches with a tomato and cucumber salad and air fries for supper. Something quick and easy for a change. Nice that your scale is moving in the right direction. I hope mine decides to follow Take care all.

Good morning all!
It's Monday, so that means laundry day and we'll have the LA traditional Monday meal of red beans and rice for dinner tonight. I read somewhere that red beans were easy to simmer on the stove without needing much attention and therefore were a good choice for laundry day.
I was feeling a little down today, but a vigorous walk seems to have helped. Also, Sunny Radio playing some of my favorites is a definite mood-booster. As soon as I cool off, I'm going to take a shower so I can wash everything I have on, that is now sweat-drenched.
Sue - Your evening sounded just like ours, except that we watched the Garth Brooks special on PBS, instead of the concert on FOX. Great minds think alike, lol!
Ann - I'm glad you're sleeping well. That's at least 8 hours in 24 that we don't have to stress about the virus, right?
Judy - Nice that your DH found some escapism on the tv. Regarding your cleaning projects, Fly Lady recommends committing to 15 minutes on task and then take a rest. Usually, that's enough to get me started.
Time to hit the shower. BBL.

Pam enjoy laundry day. I threw a load in earlier. All washed dried folded and put away.
Took 2 short hood walks. The second one we had to walk between the raindrops. If it stops, I'll go later on.
I agree sleeping/napping gives us a well needed break.
Be well.

Hi friends,
Another week, another time to stay put and work from home. This must be what house arrest feels like. I told my friend that I feel like Whitey Bulger in hiding, but this sure is not Santa Monica!
I slept well last night but had trouble rousing at 7 AM when the dogs wanted me up and at 'em. I had quite a bit of work to do this morning for our university department budget so that kept me busy and this afternoon has been a bit quieter. I cleaned out the last desk drawer and pitched, pitched, pitched. I went through all my old credit and store cards that were in a holder in the drawer and cut up most that have expired, etc. I have hung onto things for way too long. Now my drawer has breathing room and it's organized. Sounds small, but I have to start somewhere. I am now itching to get into a file cabinet upstairs. Sometimes I worry that if something were to happen to us, I would not want my kids to have to go through all our stuff.
I am reading my 26 book by Janet Evanovich still. My attention span has been a bit off for reading - anyone else feel that way? I try NOT to watch too much news. Just once a day.
Oh, Sue and Ann, I took off my dip/powder polish myself this morning with the good old acetone (full strength), cotton balls and foil trick. I did one hand at a time and now my nails are clipped and filed short and the polish is gone. I tried to smooth them over with a nail buffer. It feels good to be rid of the polish and long clickity clacky nails.
I told another friend that it will probably be a long time before my DH and I are comfortable in a crowd again. He went to Stop n Shop for us today with a good sized list and said the situation was much better as far as items stocked and the store was not crowded. People are not hoarding as much and I think they are now realizing that we won't run out of food. I also got a delivery of my Hello Fresh which has been a Godsend. So, we have plenty of F&V and bread, eggs, etc. to last a long time again. I count our blessings. All of us here in the cafe are very lucky and blessed. So many are struggling mightily right now.
I found a little tiny book that had been my dad's from his work (he worked for NCR for many years and this one was dated 1972). Anyhow, on each page and date (it's a little daily calendar), there is a wise saying. Today I read: "The person who makes no mistakes will probably make nothing else."

Meant to add my daily menu that helps me stay somewhat on track: I had shredded wheat and 1% milk. For lunch I had a little Bonbel cheese and a bowl of Bean and Bacon soup. That was one of my favorites from childhood! We had our Hello Fresh delivery so will have the sweet and smoky pork tenderloins with mashed potatoes and carrot, apple, scallion slaw on the side. It looks great. So far we have loved every dish.
Sue, I meant to add another thought for your DH and losing his VBF. So sad. I hope he is doing a little better. I can't imagine losing my best friend during this crisis.
Ann, glad you got your walks in. I, too, am having a laundry day. I have all my nightgowns and a couple robes in the wash now. I am wearing them longer than usual lately - wonder why? Ha ha!
Pam, thank you for the Fly Lady recommendation. I forgot about her and I like her ideas. I love Gretchen Rubin's ideas, too. It gets you started to do a little here and a little there! Glad you had a nice walk and that it cheered you up.

Hi Judy. So happy to hear that you are still in the purging mindset. I have little energy these days for that sort of thing. I can also relate to the concentration not being there for reading. I'm good for a chapter then my mind starts to roam. What a wise saying and thanks for sharing Today to keep sane I house walked while listening to KC & the sunshine band It also kept me from nibbling. I've also been coloring on my phone and playing games. Whatever works! Take care all and enjoy your evening.

My internet is very slow. If you don't 'see me' tomorrow it's because I just can't get online.

Good evening!
I am in a better frame of mind this evening. What set me off this morning was learning that one of the last hospice patients I visited was refused nebulizer treatments to aid his breathing by the nursing home. I am not sure if it is because they are experiencing staff shortages or equipment shortages, but it broke my heart. All our nurses can do is administer morphine, which lessens the struggle to breathe. I wondered how long it would be before hospice patients were "triaged" out of treatment because they are already dying. It is heartbreaking for all concerned.
After I took a shower, I dressed in "real clothes"--some khaki crops and a nice blouse--and did my hair and put on powder and lipstick. Just looking better helped me feel better. DH asked if I was going somewhere, lol. Anyway, it helped my mood.
I worked on laundry, make coleslaw for dinner to go with the red beans and sausage and spent an hour or so reading in the green room, sipping champagne. We had a nice dinner and started on a Hallmark movie, but DD3 called in the middle, so I missed most of it. Now, I'm ready for some reading and then bedtime. I am really enjoying "Circling the Sun" by Paula McLain.
Sweet dreams all!

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Tuesday! It is very dreary outside as well as quite cool, but they are promising a warm up later in the week. I guess we take what we get. DH made us a wonderful breakfast. We learned something new today. We usually buy Egg-Beaters, but the stores have been out of them. DH did find a carton of Egg Whites at Meijer and brought it home as I wanted to make my breakfast casserole last weekend. Well, they ARE white! They didn't matter so much in the casserole as it has cheese on top - but today when he made his famous scramble they were different. However, we found out that we CAN eat them and be just fine. Good to know!
I have dressed and started laundry. DH has gone to the gas station and I am planning on a morning walk. We are now in week #3 of this "experiment" and I must admit that I'm wearing thin. I will definitely need an attitude adjustment sometime in the near future. I may work on that while I'm walking today. On the positive side, I got out some mending that I have been putting off, and actually got a needle threaded! and got it all done. That feels good. Since it is something I don't do often, it makes me feel productive. Maybe that will help my attitude?? I try not to be too cross about all the people who absolutely will NOT stay at home!!
Judy ~ Hope you working from home is going well.
Pam ~ I fully understand your sadness about your patients. I too have wondered about the triaging. I cautioned my DH of the same, because at 70+ and a cardiac history he probably wouldn't make the short list for a ventilator should he become ill. Sad, but true.
Ann ~ I hope your Internet gives you some relief today. I also hope you're not in a poor state of mind??
Hey ..... I love you guys and wish all of you WELL!!
BBL. Make a great day!!

Hey all,
I am hopping mad right now because I just wrote almost a full page – LOL – and somehow hit a wrong key and everything poofed away. I’m going to try to re-create and recap it if I can remember what I said.lol
I’ve been busy at work again this morning and I am covering for someone who just had a mastectomy a few days ago. Unfortunately, she seems to be one of those people who will not stop working no matter what. Some may admire that, but I think it’s pretty foolish and I politely yelled at her with hugs.
Pam, I love the author you are reading and we read one of her books about a year ago in our book club. I haven’t read the one you’re working on now so I’ll add it to my list, although I seem to have a bit of trouble focusing on much more than a chapter at a time as Ann mentioned. I’m so sorry about your hospice patients not receiving lifesaving measures right now. We have a bit of controversy here where they have moved a whole facility full of many Alzheimer’s patients to other skilled nursing homes to make room for COVID-19 patients. Families are upset and I understand that, but I guess I can see both sides of the issue too.
Sue, i’m glad to hear that you’ve decided egg whites are an option. I’m like you though and that I don’t buy them because they just don’t seem appealing to me, but maybe this will change my mind. Necessity is the mother of invention! I do have a colleague who actually boils a dozen eggs every Sunday only to toss out every single yolk and just eat the whites for his snacks at work. I am in capable of that kind of a move! Also, I am interested in going back and watching that 60 minute episode you talked about in your post. I heard at my WW studio zoom meeting this morning that it had interesting information about how very difficult this confinement is especially for heavy people. I was up over a pound at my meeting, but I’m determined to recommit and started my day with a soft boiled egg and a slice of toast. We talked about our struggles at the meeting and I brought up how sometimes in this crisis I’ve developed a Devil May care attitude when I’m down, and I’ll say to myself “what does it matter? I may as well have what I want.” That is defeatist thinking and I know it so I’ve swept away. I know that there are many bigger issues going on right now then going over 23 points a day or whatever your allotment is but focusing on small things does help. I tend to overthink things as it is so I need to dial it back.
I spent more time with my DD last night late looking at relief packages for small business owners and also we have done alot of FaceTime With our grand kids in New Jersey and California. That helps and I vacillate between feeling grateful that we have a home and plenty of food, lots of love from families to worrying about those not so fortunate and getting angry at those who refuse to obey commonsensical laws and stay home. I’m glad they arrested that brainless minister who insists on congregating large groups. Talk about selfish and endangering so many in addition to his own congregation. Someone sent me a very funny but off color video of a guy playing the piano singing a song about staying home. It gave me a great belly laugh this morning! I’d send it but it has some language and I don’t want to offend anyone. If you want to see it just let me know I think it is pretty darn funny. Just don’t play it with any kids around!
Ann, Hang in there and keep taking those walks with Lula. Our doggies are such a great comfort to us right now – just like Mother Nature and young innocent kids, they cruise right along without a worry in the world except for where their next meal is coming from, where the best place to nap is and wondering who those doggies walking by the house are! And giving loads of doggie kisses!
Ttfn and love to all

Just a bit down in the dumps. I did take a nice hood walk and that helped. Please excuse the no personals. Take care
