I'm not sure what "too old" means.
There are people in their 80's who sky dive. People who run marathons, climb mountains, do the hokey pokey, etc.
Politics seems kind of wimpy compared to those things, don't you think?

I agree, Pat. Age really is just a number. Some people are still active and mentally alert long past 80, and others are "old codgers" in their 60s. A lot depends on health, but mostly it's a state of mind thing, I think. My DH is 81 (hard for me to believe, but it's true), and he's active, full of life, and sharp as a tack (as the old saying goes.)

Kayleigh McEnany told the press, "I will never lie to you." ROTFLMAO So glad I wasn't drinking anything when I read that, because it surely would have come out my nose!

If someone tells me they will never lie to me I know they're lying.

This is from a meme sent to me by email. I don't know how to post it here so here is a description: At the top is says -- People who in 2016 said -- then a picture of Morticia from the Addams Family drinking a cup of tea/coffee, then -- "I would rather die than vote for Hillary Clinton." -- Well, here we are.

haha i saw that recently too.
well you little mother-effers got your wish! i'm still amazed at all the gun-toting does this make my d word look big jerks at the state capitol in MI marching around protesting her desire to keep them healthy.
a friend posted a picture today that had a photo of the black panthers standing on the steps of the state capitol in WA in 1967 to protest a gun control bill on which that same day, the gun control measure was passed immediately after the protest. underneath that picture are the protesters in MI all with their rifles and ammo and he said "one of these two images immediately led to gun control legislation."

Harvey Weinstein is a slimeball of the highest magnitude BUT: some of the women who came forward continued to work in his movies for years after the "event(s)" happened -as long as it benefited their careers. At what point do the women who stay silent become part of the pattern of abuse? If they'd come forward right away, then maybe some of the later victims wouldn't have been victims.

If they'd come forward right away, then maybe some of the later victims wouldn't have been victims. i don't think we can look at it that simplistically. maybe with some of them they were only concerned with continuing careers but sometimes you also may wonder "did what happened with him happen because i did something wrong? maybe if i don't do xyz again it won't happen and i don't have to be the one to walk away from my career..." i don't put the blame on any of those women in the least. maybe he should have kept his d in his pants and not used his power to abuse people.

Personally, I don't think there's anything simple about the entire issue, and a lot of the problem when these things come out publicly is that we only know the facts we are given. There's usually a lot more there that never comes to light. So I'm all for empowering women. I think predatory behavior by men must be stopped, and they must be held accountable. But I also believe that we have to be very careful in making hasty judgments about either party. Because sometimes I think yes, it is exactly as she says; but, other times I think that's not the case. It's all too easy to destroy a life, a career, and the lives of those who love the person being judged when it could all be based on an untruth. Rushing to judgment is never a good policy, IMO. So I think the way to stop this is to raise our daughters and our granddaughters to know their own value. To really believe that they are as good and can accomplish as much as any man, and that they do not have to tolerate this type of behavior. We also have to raise our sons and our grandsons to know that sort of behavior is beyond the pale, and that they are not the be all and end all of the world. We have to teach our offspring that what they are inside and their actions are what we judge by, not by anything else. I think that is happening.

And to raise our sons and grandsons to not be a predator! To know that no means no. It doesn't matter what daughters are taught if sons aren't taught something either.
Boys are stronger. Besides respect girls could be taught martial arts. That could come in handy one day when boys are just being boys.
I don't think it will be soon though. We have a sexual predator in the Oval Office who is adored by religious fanatics.
Yup. It is going to take more time. Sigh.
If girls and women are still struggling with "I must have done something wrong" we have a long, long way to go.

Joyce, what happened to that? It was a lie.
A cheater always looks under his bed checking for his wife's lover.
A liar always promises to never lie.
One of the biggest lies, imho, is this one. "I swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. So help me God."
