cathygeha , I feel you made the right choice. That said...last night...I had a nice BIG Core breakfast and am double tracking...or maybe triple tracking! I don't like being conflicted

Holding pattern seems to be holding
I woke this morning thinking, "Why throw in the towel on Core before you even try being on Core for one day?" and even knowing that I probably will be back to points counting only I had a Core breakfast and tracked on paper and the app and will see how I feel by lunchtime. I would LOVE to find a no-count way of living and just eat to satisfaction but...not sure it is feasible right now and in the past have always done better with a journal to track in. Will see how I feel at lunch.

luvvinlife, bbbearsmom, thank you. We are so looking forward to it Funny, but for as long as I can remember, my dear gramma used to always say "4th of July and the summer's over" I used to get really upset as I would think to myself...school vacation has just begun!!!! Now I realize that she was right.....I think of her each and every July 4th and can still her her say that LOL......

I would give a plan a solid month to see if how it's working and to be able to see it's trends for you. As for the bolded part, if you ate like that, would it require any sort of behavior change that's different to what got you overweight in the first place? Beck is about changing our behaviors to become healthier, so going to a 'eat until satisfied and without tracking' scenario doesn't sound like a big difference, except in some of what you eat. I've always felt that WW's "non tracking" plans aren't really long term options because they don't teach you how to change your behaviors all that much, if that makes sense...?

I know conquer cravings works so will give Core two weeks unless it is impossible with foods locally available or it is not working for me.

I hear what you are saying. I did give Conquer Cravings five weeks, tried Carb Conscious (Points Plus) for about a week or two and though it had "free fruit/veg" seemed to penalize carbs...thus its name. In the past I reached goal weight on two plans: exchange counting(1984) and 123 Points (1998/9) and I tried almost every program that came out between 1984 when Points Plus or perhaps it was Smart Points came out.
I know the rules of the programs but some programs have fit what and how I eat better to see me at goal weight. In the past I have always had to track points or exchanges to be successful...except the one month I lost 10 pounds gained on a vacation and did it on Core.
I know that I can probably reach goal weight on many diets. With most eating plans that have worked I track (even if it is only the weeklies), hydrate, move back into getting exercise in, eat a balanced diet, have a positive mindset.
Considering I have been on diets since 1984 (off and on) it is interesting that the two that seemed to have worked the best were the ones that I actually achieved goal on. That was one reason I was dithering about the Core program - I did well on it but threw in the towel after a month on it. So, am I willing to do this month that way or not.
At the moment I am tracking on the app using Conquer Cravings and on paper tracking Core and writing in what I put into the app on the phone. I am pretty sure that I will need to track forever or come up with interchangeable meals that I eat forever...
As for habits...I don't know if I really need to change anything at this moment but I do know what has been successful in the past. The dream is to find a way to eat that comes naturally and that I don't have to think about...divide the plate sounded good but sometimes my plate or the oil on the plate or the portions on the plate became too big.
As for the non-tracking plans...having gone back to the Core information I didn't get rid of in the library purge I see why it worked and why I left it. There are only 35 weekly points and the list of Power Foods to eat from, though a healthy and long list, does not allow the freedom of choice that counting points did. I do think that it does change behaviors because it minimizes processed foods, encourages healthy foods and sets some guidelines. You can overindulge on the wrong foods on any plan.
I think, after reading another post somewhere else this morning, that I will do my best to do two weeks on Core...while also tracking on Conquer Cravings. If I see that I am "missing" something or the 35 weeklies + activity points don't cut it then...I will reassess.
I appreciate your comments and interest in my journey.

cathygeha, maybe you need to change things up often to keep interested and engaged. If so, nothing wrong with that.
