I'm watching a new season of "Unforgotten" on my PBS station tonight. I highly recommend this series and have been excited to see one of my favorite British actresses, Nicola Walker. (She also starred in "Last Tango in Halifax" which is a great series too) There is also a new series on CNN on the History of the Sitcom. It's 8 episodes and the first two start tonight. I will tape that series and save it for nights when there is nothing to watch. Unforgotten Trailer

Speaking of new seasons, "Leverage" is returning after many years absent from TV. The original show starred Timothy Hutton and this show has rebooted on the IMDB free streaming service on Amazon Prime. We enjoyed the old series and this new show was good; we'll be watching it. All of the previous seasons are available on IMDB TV. Leverage

I will have Unforgotten recording. It is a great series. I found "A Typical" new season on Netflex. Really warm family drama I enjoyed all the other seasons and glad to see one back. "

on CNN on the History of the Sitcom We watched the 1st episode which concentrated on the early sitcoms: I love Lucy and All in the Family. But, they then jumped to shows in the 80s and completely left out Mary Tyler Moore, MASH, Bob Newhart, Taxi, and many other shows of the 70s. I hope they cover those shows (at least mention them) in future shows. Disappointing.

linda72, we recorded that on the DVR so I haven't seen it yet but, the omission of those classics is surprising.

doordie50, I just read a review that said the show would not do a chronological showing of all the sitcoms but they will try to group them by some category. So, maybe those shows will appear later. Because, really, how could you not mention The Dick Van Dyke Show and The Mary Tyler Show? I know, I'm old and really dating myself!!

I just saw an article about MTM had to fight to keep her capri pants because "women wear dresses" lol. Apparently her shapely behind was a problem for the male executives! haha.

Was so disappointed when "Unforgiven" on PBS is not a new season - it first aired 3/21.

MarieL , The Unforgotten I just started is Season 4 and it's new on our PBS station. Did you see it earlier, possibly from England? I think they get these shows earlier than we air them. **ETA: I checked Wikipedia and that says Season 4 aired first in the UK Feb., 2021. Maybe your PBS station gets them after that date. Wikipedia says Season 4 first aired in the US on July 11, 2021.

If you enjoy Unforgotten, I can recommend Collateral. It's available on Netflix. It's a 4-episode British police procedural show (2018), similar to Unforgotten. Nicola Walker, the lead star in Unforgotten, is also in this series but in a minor role. The lead in this series is Carey Milligan (who starred in The Dig, among others). I've watched so many UK shows so I recognize many of the actors from other shows. This series is very good.

Thanks Linda for the research on Forgotten. I honestly don't know when I first saw it. On my "Guide" it says first aired 3/21 - I just knew I had seen it when I started. I was disappointed.
I will check out Collateral - probably saw it too since like you I watch all things British (English) detective etc. Thanks Linda

I really liked the book series A Discovery of Witches, and the first season of the tv series was pretty good. This second season... flat, no emotion acting. I watched last weeks episode and Matthew (main character) said something like "I haven't lost control like that in a very long time" (vampire blood rage thing)... so I had to rewatch the scene twice to finally see he twitched an eye and grimaced - that must have been the "lost control" -yes , it's that flat lol.
