Good Morning!!!
Good day yesterday. Added 3 miles with 2 walks one before work and 1 at lunch. I was tempted to go for ice cream on my way home from Bible study but instead went home and had some strawberries with some vanilla granola. If the DH would have mentioned ice cream I probably would have caved. I am trying to be good as I know the I have 3 picnics to attend this weekend.
Cait: Work in progress. Glad you are extended until September if you can't make it. Going to OR sounds like a nice idea. Could make a day trip with the DH.
Amy: I think you did a good thing cancelling the Total Gym. Enjoy your DVD workouts.
Waving to all. Happy Walking!!

Good Morning Challengers!
Yesterday I did 1/6 of my main HHs, ate way above my red zone zone of pts. I stayed up late reading and eating snack foods but not as late or as much food as the previous night.
My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) - Avoid salted snacks: N - JGTB: N
2 microhabits: - “50 pushaways”: N - “No seconds with snack”: N
Yesterday we walked downriver and upriver 2 mi.
KELLY - GFY with the 3 mi in 2 walks and avoiding ice cream stop. I know what you mean about leaving the treat decision to DH.
CAROL - GFY with the bike ride, stretching and water aerobics. Your bike encounter with the bear sounds like a shock. After we first moved here we were walking in late afternoon and rounded a corner to find a black bear and 2 cubs crossing the road coming up from the river. DH and I froze. She looked at us and took off running up the hill with the cubs right behind. It happened so fast our dog didn’t even notice. After that we stopped walking in late afternoon. That’s a common time for them to be on the move.
AMY - I hope your knees are helped by the treatment and the Body Gym and WATP senior tapes work for you.
Be well and take care, for ourselves, and for each other.

THURSDAY!
AMY -- What's the difference between "Total Gym" and "Body Gym?" I hope you enjoy the senior walking workouts!
KELLY -- Three picnics! Good luck with that! We have one graduation and one family cookout, which is enough! Good job going for the berries & granola; it just gives you longer to look forward to ice cream!
CAIT -- I'm glad WW extended your tools. A mini road-trip to Oregon might make for a fun day, as KELLY said. I'm with you re: dogs! It really irks me when unrestrained dogs approach me! A big stick is not a terrible idea!
Yesterday we had water aerobics outdoors, and it was absolutely wonderful! Perfect temperature, no wind, little humidity, and a glorious blue sky (2 miles). I'm tempted to go a little early and swim laps for 20 minutes or so before the class. Today I walked a total of 2 miles over 2 "sessions," and I just finished stretching.

Good Morning!!
I added 2 miles yesterday of walking. Eating not the best as went out for wings and finished with an ice cream cone. Today's meals are planned. Looking forward to visiting with my sister tonight. I made some Ranger Cookies to take for her. The Sunday picnic has been cancelled due to rain. It was my DH's brother they are going to have it on Monday. My sister is having one on Monday. I may just take the DH to his brother's so he can enjoy time with his brother. My sister has not decided on a time yet.
Cait: Good job on your walk. I hope yesterday was a better day for the HHs.
Carol: Yes, I will need a good luck with the picnics. Of course all are in the afternoon so will be most likely both my lunch and supper. I will work at not stuffing myself. Drinking lots of water will help.
Have a great weekend. Happy Walking!!

Good Afternoon Challengers!
Yesterday I did all 6 of my main HHs, stayed in my 💚zone of pts. It’s been over a week and a half since we got back North and I hope I’m over my post-event transition overeating escapades.
My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) - Avoid salted snacks: 💚 - JGTB: 💚

Yesterday we walked downriver 2 mi.
KELLY - I guess the rejected ice cream just wouldn’t stay quiet 🤪 But you are able to have it and not get “hooked” into more and more, so GFY having your wings and ice cream! And only 1 picnic to deal with. Enjoy your time with your Sis. Good job with the 2 mi.
CAROL - How great to have water aerobics outdoors! I’m sure that was a big treat after winter. GFY stretching and walking 2 mi in 2 sessions. Was that because of your back? Re day trip to OR - Medford OR is our closest “big city.” We used to go more often, hit Costco and Trader Joes, other stores, and eat lunch out, but haven’t been in years, so it may work out fine to go to WW and do some things.
Be well and take care, for ourselves, and for each other.

TGIFRIDAY! KELLY -- one picnic will be easier to manage, for sure! Good job with your walking! CAIT -- sounds like you definitely need a road trip to Medford to catch up! GFY getting back to your HHs! I'm able to walk almost 3/4 mile before my back acts up, so I'm trying to take it slowly. I'm trying to focus on lower back stretches, too, and I know I need more core work. Well, our outdoor water class was back indoors today because it was/is just too darn cold! I guess now we have something to look forward to. I'm counting 2 miles for that, and I just finished stretching. Have a great holiday weekend, everyone! 47/250 miles 16/75 stretching Stretching: 2018:141;2019:192; 2020:182 2021: Jan.15; February:13; March 16; April: 17; May: 16/31

Yesterday we walked downriver and upriver 2.1 mi.
This am I attended a WW virtual workshop and enjoyed it a lot. Topic of the week is compassionate self-talk - talk to myself in the caring and encouraging way we talk to our friends who are struggling.
CAROL - oh too bad the water aerobics had to go back indoors. Well you had that wonderful experience and can look forward to more in a few weeks. GFY with 2 mi and stretching. It will be interesting to see how you can help your back with stretching and core work.
Be well and take care, for ourselves, and for each other.

Good morning. I'm at 50 miles of the challenge. The "reframing" has helped. Cait: I LOVE all of your animals. I won't walk "up" to "the park" by myself because of the mountain lions. Bears are scary too ! I love Walt Whitman. Some of his works remind me of the beauty of smells on my walks as well as the views. Oak and pepper trees, horses, goats and just the wonderful smell of dirt. As least you got your walks in ... Maybe you could give yourself a "once a week" for your guilty pleasures rather than a "never". Great for all 6 of your HH's yesterday ! Carol: I only have one word for your story of the bear while riding your bicycle and I don't think it's appropriate here. I would NEVER walk before dawn. I have however fallen around here a few times. Every time I do, I can't believe it. The outdoor water aerobics sounds glorious ! Amy: Great for you for the education/graduation goals ! It sounds like things re heading in the right direction. What happened to the treadmill walking? Kelly: As you can see from above, I am not so graceful so roller skating was never one of my "things". Although I would like it to be. Do you ever go now? I think it would be fun. Have a great day !

Yesterday I did 2/6 of my main HHs, ate above my red zone of pts but at least I did JGTB. I guess I’m not yet over the post-event overeating. Focusing on back to basics today.

Yesterday we walked downriver and upriver 2.1 mi. Great deck day although it got to 90 - too hot for DH in the late afternoon.
CONNIE - GFY with the walking! Yes I’ve tried all my life to be able to keep these “guilty pleasure” foods, but limit them, every way possible, but it doesn’t work for me. One day leads to more and more. It’s how I got to be over 100 lbs overweight. Getting in my healthy meals, water, walks and sleep, tracking my food, posting here, doing 12 step work, all help me get back on track.
Be well and take care, for ourselves, and for each other.

my left hip hurts a lot. I think I need aw full bed. So I asked my trust to pay for it. I have twin and its not big enough. I am starting eating over tomorrow. A good day to do so. Scott and I ordered out today. I have a question for my lawyer I need answered. It has to do whether I should work. I am in at home long term program. That lets you have a higher monthly income then regular Medicaid. dI have to find out if that enables me to work about 10 hours a week when I graduate for as many years as I keep staying below the the maximum amount to keep my long term care. at nursing home level. if this higher maximum is here then I can work about 10 hours. week depending what I earn and lower it by an hour aw week unless the maximum goes up. I said I did not want loans they offered me federal subsidized laans. I said I would like work study. But I talked to a supervisor Friday t she said DVR. There may for them to pay for school I had written the governor and maybe that's why they all me and said the letter the Dvr counselor wrote was about pst stuff not current. She said she would have his supervisor call. I had asked for a new counselor. o w'll see. I would like Dvr to pay for school and books. But I am curious about my status now that I am in a senior wai ver program that may allow me to work. The would be terrific. I asked for work study.. See if they give it to me.

Yesterday we walked downriver and upriver 2.1 mi. I had 14.3 miles last week. It was another great deck day but it got to 91 and DH had to go inside. Today it’s great now, but supposed to get to 98 so I’m planning to go inside to work after lunch. Our A/C is not working, unfortunately, and it’s supposed to be 103 and 101 Tues and Wed. Our A/C guy is an hour away - I called him - he has a job in our area that he’s waiting for parts on, hopefully arriving this week. I told him we’d survive til then. We have ceiling fans, it’ll get in 50’s - 60’s overnight, the house is a log cabin, which is pretty good insulation, and downstairs is only exposed on 3 sides, so it always stays cooler.
This am I did my end of month weight and it was up .2 from May 14, to 147.6. I was expecting higher I guess my OP days helped more than I thought - only 16/30 days in my Healthy Eating Zone, but every little bit helps.
The past few days I’ve been focusing on my new “Why” - “To feel good, and feel good about myself.”
AMY - I’m glad Vanessa is returning, and you have help with shopping for healthy foods and have some that you like a lot. I hope your school and work plans come through in the way that works best for you. Be well and take care, for ourselves, and for each other.
