Yesterday was the first day I was maskless all day. No mask required in work unless a customer requests that I put one on (no one did). I went to Target, carried a mask in my pocket, not needed. Same thing in grocery store. I would say it was 50/50 with customers wearing a mask.
Today Iām going to ENT office and will wear a mask there even if not required. Then Iām going for breakfast and will see what my favorite restaurant requires.
What I saw yesterday ... lots of smiles.

It has been interesting this week as things were different at various places. I've been wearing masks since I became fully vaccinated (before that I didn't go out except as necessary). We went to Best Buy a couple of days ago and everyone was wearing a mask. Then at Costco we decided to go in maskless (they have a large sign that masks are not required if you are vaccinated). It definitely felt strange to be without a mask.
I wondered if people would think I was anti-mask and faking being vaccinated when I didn't wear a mask. I wondered if I did wear a mask if people would think we weren't vaccinated. I know it doesn't really matter.
We also went out to eat the first time this week. At one restaurant most people wore masks walking to and from tables but then had them off. Several staff people had masks on under their noses. I glared and they pulled them up. We were seated at a booth next to someone else. I asked why they were putting everyone together. They said it was because only some sections were open. It was mid-afternoon and a huge restaurant so plenty of room. The other two restaurants I went to were social distancing and kept an open booth between each booth (one had even removed the seats to enforce it).
A lot of places here require people working to wear masks unless they have been vaccinated. Most probably haven't been because it really hasn't been long enough for most younger people to be fully vaccinated.

The local newspaper this morning had an article that there has been some uptick in colds, fevers, earaches since people can go without a mask and aren't social distancing as much. This is one reason I tell myself that I should still wear a mask.
