This is a monthly thread for those of us who have a lot of weight to lose. The definition of “a lot” is something that is determined personally, so everyone who feels they have a lot of weight to lose is welcome to post here.
Please join us in offering support, checking in for accountability, help with questions, etc. We’re in this for the long haul.
We’d also love to hear from those of you who are maintaining a large loss. We need those tips to help us to keep the weight off once we lose it.

Hello Everyone - Hope we are all ready for a new month and that it's a good one for all of us wwlurker - Congratulations on the weight loss. It's a nice surprise when we aren't expecting it, and it shows you are doing something right. I hope that you can keep up with the goals you are setting for yourself I weighed this morning just because it's the first of the month and I'm also working on losing 5 pounds a month. I have a goal of losing 15 pounds by the 1st of October, so I hope I can meet that goal. I'm happy I've been able to keep up with walking each day. I find that if I get it done before noontime that works best for me. I'm not focusing on burning calories, but more on just moving my body since I spend too much of my day sitting down. Hope everyone will check in and let us know how you are doing

Good morning. Thanks for the start, cj59. Completely slipped my mind yesterday! I'm still stress eating. Yesterday wasn't pretty and I put a huge dent in my WPs on the first day! I did track, though. Today I'm traveling for work, so I stopped and got enough food to get me through the day semi-healthily. I'm hoping that helps. Hope you all have a good day!

Hi wwlurker - Sorry you are having stress, hope that gets better for you soon I'm sticking in there. Yesterday was a low calorie day and I was hungry. It had me rethinking my idea to mix around my calories throughout the week. I'll finish this week and then next week I think I'll just try to eat the same amount of calories each day. It might be better to do only one week a month or every other week of the calories mixed up days. This just makes me realize how much work has to go into losing weight and eating well. It's no surprise why I eventually get to a point where I need a break. I had a dream last week that I was with some people and we kept going from restaurant to restaurant and could never get anyone to serve us some food - guess I'm feeling deprived Hope everyone else is doing well

Hello! cj59 - I'm not sure that I could handle an intentionally low calorie day. I don't do well with feeling restricted. I'm having a very hungry day. I just want to eat everything. I'm not quite sure what is up with that - it's not stress, but actual, physical hunger. I'm trying to honor it, but it is difficult because I'm also super busy with meetings at work today, so my chances to eat are limited. Hope you all have a great day!

wwlurker - I hope you can find something to do to help you with your hunger today. Do you drink a lot of water each day? I know I use water (sometimes with 0 calorie mix-ins) to help with hunger. Good luck with all your meetings I know what you mean about the calorie restricted days, they are tough and I'm not sure they are really a good idea for me. I'm just trying different things right now. The one thing I really thought was good about the Momentum program is the way you started with higher points and they got lower as you lost weight. That just made more sense to me than people with all different weights eating the same amount of food each day. Unfortunately now that I'm older and with having dieted so many times as an adult, I'm sure my metabolism isn't great and I just can't eat a lot of calories anymore and still lose weight. If I'd just kept off the weight I lost when I was younger I got my walk in this morning and went grocery shopping too. I weighed myself before I went to the store and that really helped me not to buy any junk food. I was really wanting to buy some cookies, pie, or some other sweets. I miss those Hope everyone is doing well today and that you all have a good day!

Hello Everyone sunrose - Hope you enjoy the long weekend with your sister I'm doing pretty well, just one more day in my "week" and I weigh in on Sunday. I'm hoping I'll see a little loss. If not, then I think I'll accept that changing up my calories every day isn't really working. Even if I do lose I think I'll just eat the same amount of calories next week. I'm still getting in my 30 minute walk each day and hope to keep that up. Hope you are doing well on your plans and that you have a good weekend!

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well I weighed in today and I lost some weight, so that was nice. I'm not sure how I'm going to spread out my calories this week. I want to try for the same amount each day but that doesn't always work out. I guess we'll see how it goes.

Hi everyone!
I've been very distracted by life lately. I was making the conscious decision not to worry about my weight while I was focusing on other things. I'm ready to start settling back in. I did not WI this week, and I don't think that I will. I will start tracking today, but I'm not going to go back and track what I missed. I will try to stay off the scale until I have a few OP days under my belt.
I feel like small breaks like this are part of life and the important thing is that you shift your focus back when you are ready.
Hope you all are doing well!

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all well sunrose - Welcome back - hope you enjoyed your trip wwlurker - I agree with you about the small breaks and changing your focus. I've found doing a reset from time to time helps me. Hope things in your life get a bit easier soon I'm staying on track and walking my 30 minutes every day. I've had a few days this week where I really wanted to overeat, but I've resisted. I'm interested to see if I'll lose any weight this week with keeping my calories around the same each day instead of the highs and lows I did the last few weeks. Take care everyone!

Good morning!
Well, yesterday I had a crazy high-point day and blew threw all of my WPs and then some on my very first day back to tracking. I went to lunch with a friend and made a poor choice (it wasn't a place where there were many good options). Then, I overate dinner because I didn't actually sit down to eat an actual meal but rather ate on the go.
I'm trying not to be too worked up about it because it happens, but it's disappointing that I was hoping to stay OP for the week but I'm already not. It makes it really hard for me to try to make healthy choices for the rest of the week.

wwlurker - Sorry to hear about the bad day. We all have them and just have to move on and get back on track. But I do understand how disappointing they can be One more day for me in my week and I'll weigh in on Sunday. I'm still walking 30 minutes each and happy I've been able to stick to that. I don't think I burn any calories since I don't walk fast, but at least I'm moving my body and hopefully getting some health benefit. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
