Welcome fellow crafters! Again- we start another week. Hope everyone had a great weekend.
Meg, I think it's an awesome idea for you to make another afghan for Janet. So glad you had a nice visit with her.
Have a great day! Ginny

Still morning here so good morning everyone.
I second what Ginny said, great idea to make an afgan for Janet. I'd bet she was glad to be with you for the day.
Today is my dd's bday. Her bday has never fallen on Easter and from the charts I've seen on when Easter falls, It never will. My father's bday was at the end of March and his was on Easter several times. Both my cousin and my bil had birthdays yesterday on Easter.
ON the weekend I didn't get anything at all done on my crocheting so today will be working on that. Dh just went to take a nap so I'll work on it while he sleeps then will be vacuuming and laundry. We have to go out a couple times this week and take care of the errands we need to do and go to one of my least favorite places..Menards...a home improvement store much like Home Depot. I really dislike those stores.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today I had every intention of working on that Falling Charms quilt today, and have spent over half the day on the telephone! Sometimes I don't have anyone call me for days and then it's funny and everyone calls on the same day I do hope to put the borders around the barn embroidery and make it into a quilted wallhanging. I gathered up my supplies for the Quilt Binding class on Wednesday. I really had trouble figuring out what thread and needles to take with me. I have lots of specialty threads, but not much 50 weight thread, which is what my sister-in-law recommended. I also hope the needles I have work. I'm sure anything will work, it's just what you get used to. Take care everyone!

somehow hit the wrong button and my message disappeared. Hello to you too CJ. I hope you're having a good day also. Yes I'm sure in most crafts it's what we get used to. In crocheting I like only the rounded head hooks but if I have to I can use the pointy ones. you're so organized getting everything ready for the class Wed. The only place I've ever been organized is at work and you had to be because in a hospital anything can happen at any time. Well this morning I've seamed all the fingerless gloves that need seaming and have just one pair that still needs ends weaved in. I should have just gone ahead and done that but now I'm working on what the designer calls "belly dancer gloves" I don't care for the name but both dd and her bff model for a photographer that does rennaisance photos. These gloves will be perfect for that. I know they're going to love them. I had a really hard time figuring out what this designer meant and thought I was going to have to give up but I finally figured it out. What a great feeling that is to figure out something you thought might be impossible. Here's the link in case you want to see them. I'm plannning on making them longer than she shows (and I don't like her suggestions of wearing them for clubbing and raves...only place I've ever heard of raves is on Law and Order) Oh course my dd and her bff are in early 40's and are parents and my dd is a gramma so no raves for them www.goddesscrochet.com/2016/08/18/belly-dancer-gloves-free-crochet-pattern/oh and ddil sent me pictures of the kids from yesterday. They still have and are using the EAster baskets I crocheted for them 8 years ago when they had only 4 children. I guess I should make 3 more but the oldest is 18 so he's probably willing to pass down his basket and I actually saw in the pic that his brother who is 3 is using that blue basket. The three oldest just had wicker baskets with things they can use in them esp the oldest two that are, as I mentioned, 18 and the oldest girl is 16.

Hello everyone, Happy Monday.
Ginny, thanks for getting us off on another week of crafting. It will probably be awhile befotre I can make Janet a new blanket. I have all sorts of ideas about what I want to do. My brain goes faster than the rest of me.
Ruth, I am glad you are making progress with your fingerless gloves. You will have them all finished before next winter. Passing the Easter baskets you made on to the next generation of kids is a wonderful idea, They are special because grandma made them.
cj, WOW, you are so organized good for you. Usually the night before my Knit Wits Gp. I will get whatever I am taking ready so that I can just pick it up and go the next day. I try to be organized but I don't quite make it.
I didn't get a lot of crocheting done yesterday because Janet was here in the afternoon and just when I was going to sit down and crochet my DGD in Florida called and probably talked for 2 hours. I did manage a couple of rows on my afghan before I went to bed. I hope to get more done today and I have a new audio book I just started so if everyone will leave me alone I will make some headway. Devin went back to school today. He will want to eat his Easter candy when he gets home. Looks like more rain coming my way.
Phyl, hope you are recovering from Easter.
Have a good evening everyone.

hello, this am I was in my playpen. several months go I brung home a fleece and flannel kit for the charites. early on I did get the flannel sewed to the top of the fleece. now here is where the problem came in: fold over the fleece to the top of the flannel and sew. (this is like a binding type of thing)couldn't get my machine to sew the fleece. finally today I changed the foot. the blanket is done. but a terrible sewing job.won't bring one of those home again. I don't mind the flannel but won't be working with fleece again. just have not sewed enough with fleece to get use to it.
ruth I looked at the site. will say the purple color they used is phylvery pretty.

Phyl, I think the purple is pretty to and wonder where she got it. I don't think I've ever seen crochet thread in purple. I do have a nice teal color I'm using and gotta say that as soon as i figured out what she meant in the pattern it went extremely fast. I could make tons of these in a day and they hardly use any of the thread.
Meg, I hope they do leave you alone so you can crochet and listen to your book. I still haven't got an audiobook going. I'd have to put headphones on my laptop to listen to it so that might end up in the way but I think it would work.
Phyl, I think with the fleece you have to use a ballpoint needle. It's acts like a knit when you sew it. I have a lot of fleece in my craft room. AT least two really large storage bins full and I never used it because I haate to change to the ballpoint needle. I should just cut it all up, make fringes and give to the grands that have babies and forget about doing anything with it that requires sewing.

Good evening! Oh dear....just remembered I am using my phone to respond so I cannot see your posts. Let's see how bad my memory is....
Meg, hope you get some crochet time in and that Devin does not eat too much candy! I still think it's a lovely idea to make a new afghan for Janet.
Ruth, sounds like you have a busy week ahead. Never been in a Menards, but I do know how frustrating Home Depot is! Thanks for the link for the belly dancer gloves. I think they are popular now.
Phyl, I always laugh when I read that you were in your play pen!
CJ, are you making another calling charms quilt or still finishing the first? For your embroidery project, will you be using one color DMC or several? The picture made it look mononchromatic....so pretty and a charming rustic look.
Ok...that's as far as my memory takes me. My fabric arrived today!πGoing to sit and try to embroider a bit. Back to work tomorrow. Good night. Ginny

That's right! Phyl was frustrated working with fleece. I like the idea of a ball point needle, perhaps a walking foot would help also. Dunno, just an idea.

Good Morning!
Beautiful weather here- and it's nice to see the sun shining- also not too hot out there either!
Only got a little bit of embroidery done last night. This project will take a long time. I am hoping to get back to quilting again soon...
Hope everyone is having a great day! Ginny

Love the new avatar, Ginny. Did you make that?
I'll probably be going out soon to do errands. One is at Walmart...actually two. Then I'll look at their selection of #3 thread to see if they have other colors that I don't have. We have to go to three places and after that may stop at another store. We'll see but then I'm hoping to be able to just sit and crochet and rest the remainder of the day.
I hope you all have a very wonderful day. Be careful out there.
Phyl, enjoy the sit and sew.
Ginny, yes embroidery does that time but it's so beautiful after it's done that it's worth it.

Phyl- so sorry for Kyles grandpa. No matter what the loss- divorce or otherwise, it's difficult to lose the special people in our lives. I hope that Jeana can avoid the funeral, if that is what is best for her. Lord willing many will attend to take the pressure off of her. Glad you had a fun morning. What is the bran hole pattern?
Ruth, did you get your errands done? It would be nice if they have the color thread you need to avoid going to another store. Were you able to get some time in crochetting?
I finally decided to enter the modern world and put in my own avatar. Yes, I made that quilt, my second- which I made for my dear sister in law- when she was very sick.We are close, and I wanted her to have something from me to "hug" her when I would not be able to do so in person. (They live in Florida). So I made her a quilt. She tells me she uses it every night. Praise God she recovered from the infection and surgery she had a few years ago when I made that quilt.
Had to do some paperwork this evening....so will only get to embroider a little bit. Hope everyone has a good evening. Ginny
