This is a monthly thread for those of us who have a lot of weight to lose. The definition of βa lotβ is something that is determined personally, so everyone who feels they have a lot of weight to lose is welcome to post here.
Please join us in offering support, checking in for accountability, help with questions, etc. Weβre in this for the long haul.
Weβd also love to hear from those of you who are maintaining a large loss. We need those tips to help us to keep the weight off once we lose it.

Hello Everyone - Hope everyone is doing well and that we all have a good November. sunrose - wishing you a good November too and I'll be interested to hear what you think about the new program. I still have a bit of candy in the house, but I'm going to try to stay away from it during the week. I did get rid of the majority of it, sadly it was because I ate it It gets challenging for me around the holidays, but I'm to try to make smart choices this year I'm already trying to plan the meals around and on Thanksgiving. I've set some November goals - walking 30 minutes each day, cutting back on sugar, trying to eat more mindfully. I think I might try lower calories from Monday-Friday and then higher ones on the weekend. Even though I've been retired for awhile, the weekends still seem to be a time when I want to eat more. So we'll see how this goes I hope some of the posters in our thread will check in this month and let everyone know how you are Take care!

Good morning
Cj59, thanks for our monthly start. You have good goals for the month of November. I do still have some candy left. I need to get rid of it. I ate more candy this Halloween than Iβve done in the past. βΉοΈ

I did eat a really good salad for lunch yesterday. But I got no fruits in. Today Iβm gonna work on that and get more waters in.

Hi sunrose - Hope you are doing well today I've been walking and eating pretty well. I have had the urge to overeat, but so far I've resisted.

I think I'm finally back! I've been feeling better but even though I'm better, I've been having trouble eating normally. The strange thing is I didn't have a stomach virus, it was more like a bad cold. However, the medicine bothered my stomach but even after stopping the medicine my stomach wasn't "normal". I'm still trying to eat normal but as of yesterday, it still didn't work out but today I'm trying again. I did something different yesterday, I went to an in person WW meeting. It was good to be back! I really enjoyed the meeting. The new program is coming out next week. I hope I like it and can make it work! It took me so long to get green working for me. And I love green now. I hated it when it was the main program several years ago. I couldn't get it working for me back then. I have an open mind and will certainly give the new program a try. At WI they said I was down 11 lbs since my last studio WI but my tracker reflected all the weights I have entered each week and showed up 2 from last week. I hope my regain after being sick is done! I finally have an aide to help me with DH which is why I was able to go to the meeting. I hope this one will stay and that we will want her to stay. So far so good! Tons of leftover Halloween candy was a problem here for a few days. I had some high point days but I tracked it all. The candy was bought by my daughter (her family lives here too). Well, I mentioned to her the candy was way too convenient, she agreed and put it away. Yay! Have a good day everyone!

Good morning! This summer I kept my love of ice cream under control by making nice cream. It really helped! But now that the weather is much cooler and cold overnight into the morning, I am not looking for a frozen treat! However, I do love my sweets and I need point friendly options to avoid the point unfriendly options! I found a recipe in the ww app for "Peanut Butter, Banana & Chocolate Chip Breakfast Cookies". Sounded good to me and I made them. The cookies are a decent size. It says serve them warm but I wasn't going to eat them all in one day so I refrigerated them and let them come to room temperature. They are good to satisfy my desire to eat sweet treats. The only sugar in them is what's in the chocolate chips. 2 sp for 1, 4 sp for 2 which is what I like to have. Still I need more options so I'm still looking. Of course, all this could changed when the new ww program come out next week. I did a little searching online today to find out info about the new WW program. I found some info based on the program introduced in Australia and New Zealand. I won't say much but it is very personalized. I hope I will like it and be able to make it work. I've been doing green for a little over a year now but I've only been making it work since Feb. I did not like it when it came out as the new smart points program after points plus. I never got it working for me. But I love it now! I keep telling myself if I don't like the new program, I can always track green on itrackbites. Hopefully it will continue to be available there if needed. I've got my food tracked for today including my weekly pizza for dinner on Fri. I like how I can make that work on green. I spent years avoiding pizza when the family was enjoying it. That's why I like green. It doesn't feel like a diet. But I am keeping an open mind and will definitely give the new program a try. Have a good day!

Hi Linda - I'm glad you are starting to feel better, I hope that continues. It's great that you were able to get out to a meeting and I'm happy that you have some help with your DH. Enjoy your pizza tonight You are really doing great at working the program and your treats sound good. Sugar is a problem for me too, so when we can find/make treats that are lower sugar for us, it's great. I hope you can personalize the new program and get it to work for you. I've pretty much gone to calorie counting now, and it's working alright for me. I do still track on paper and I like that too. My goal for the rest of this year is to at least maintain my weight loss from earlier this year. The holidays get tough for me since I associate them mostly with food I've been getting in my walking and tracking. I hope everyone else is doing well Have a great weekend!

Linda - There is a lot of information about the new program (and I'm sure there will be a lot more) on our main forum on this board "General Discussion", so you might want to check that out if you haven't already. Someone today was talking about how she set up her points to work the Green program. She's in Australia where they already have the new program started.

Thanks for the info, cj59. I actually saw that thread. I do have a plan. I want to give a try to the new plan as it's meant to be if possible. So my first step will be to answer the questions honestly and see what happens. I want to eat the same as I am now and I'll see how that ends up in the tracker. I will attempt to make tweaks in my eating if necessary. I will do this for at least a week but I hope it will be for 2-4 weeks. If things don't work out great with being able to eat in the healthy point range or it just doesn't work for me, I'll try the suggested tweaks to the questions to make it "close to green". Again I'll give it at least a week but would like to give it 2-4 weeks. If I feel like it's just not working for me, then I will use itrackbites if they still have green available. I'm not losing fast on green but I am losing at a comfortable rate, eating basically what I want and it doesn't feel like a diet. I feel like I can make it a permanent lifestyle. That's hard to give up but I'm willing to give it a try. I found myself thinking about what I know about the new plan as I pre-tracked my food today and wonder how it will add up under the new plan. I guess tomorrow I'll find out!

So far so good on the new program. I went to a zoom meeting yesterday to hear about it but I will go to a meeting on Wed. as well. I can't say I learned a lot because of the reading I'd done here and the weekly topic from WW but I did like the enthusiasm and positivity about it. Today I took my assessment and I'm not 100% sure how everything will work out but I'm thinking I can make it work. I'm giving a it try. I founds some foods stayed the same in points, others went down. I found a few so far that went up and they were all cheese. One cheese stayed the same. Sargento reduced fat cheddar slices are still 2 points. Of course, I didn't check what 2 are. I like to have toasted cheese for lunch sometimes and I eat 2 on those days. I don't think I'll be earning points for water. I just don't drink that much. 6-7 cups a day is comfortable for me. And earning 1 point for 1 cup of non-starchy vegetables . . .not an everyday occurrence for me. I often eat 1/2 cup of veggies. Well, we will see how it goes. As long as I don't see negative weeklies I'll be good with the program. Anyone else trying the new WW program?

Hello Everyone sunrose - I hope you like the new program and it works well for you linda - I'm glad you are feeling good so far about the new program and I hope you find it compares well, or better, then the previous one. Keep letting us know. I'm just doing calorie counting now and that is working better for me. But I do always keep in mind the old Good Health Guidelines and I measure and portion foods too. I'm happy I learned some of those good skills from Weight Watchers over the years. Hope everyone else is doing well

Good morning
Linda, I am doing the new ww program. My cheese went up too. I found that some of my things went up some went down.
Cj59, thatβs great calorie counting works for you. Iβve also learned some things over the years with weight watchers.
Waving to all
I met my step goal yesterday. Going to work on doing the same today. Trying to focus on my meals and plan ahead of time. I still struggle in the evenings so thatβs a big area I need to work on
