This is a monthly thread for those of us who have a lot of weight to lose. The definition of βa lotβ is something that is determined personally, so everyone who feels they have a lot of weight to lose is welcome to post here.
Please join us in offering support, checking in for accountability, help with questions, etc. Weβre in this for the long haul.
Weβd also love to hear from those of you who are maintaining a large loss. We need those tips to help us to keep the weight off once we lose it.

Hello Everyone - Welcome to the December thread. I hope those of you that used to post here would let us know how you are doing if you happen to check in Hope everyone is well. Linda - Congratulations on another loss, it does sound like you are starting to adjust to the new program, I hope it keeps going well for you. I also hope you can get those gifts before your DGS's birthday. I haven't started out the month too well, didn't get any walking done but did eat pretty well. Thanks for the reminder for the new thread, cj59. I just click on participated and don't give it another thought. LOL Scale was up .2 again. The disappointing thing is this is my highest weight since I was sick in sept. and Oct. I'm going to try to double track with green for a while and see how that goes. I don't think it's how many points I'm getting, I think it's what I'm eating. I am eating less carbs to get in more veggies but one thing I have noticed about my body, it often takes a day where I eat more carbs for the weight to drop. It's like my body is hanging on to it because it needs "something" and when it gets it, it lets the weight go. I kind of had that all worked out on green but the new program makes it harder to do. I want to make the new program work but I don't want to feel discouraged by negative numbers, which on a non-holiday week is usually okay. This week I'm on my 4th blue dot as of yesterday and will probably get #5 today. We are just about finished our Christmas and birthday shopping. I think all we need now is our gift for the game we will play with the family. It's called by different names by different people. I like to call it: steal the package. Have a good day everyone!

Hello sunrose - Hope you are doing well. Linda - Good luck with getting this new program figured out, sorry to hear about the gain again - I know how frustrating that is. I'm glad for you that you are just about finished withthe Christmas and birthday shopping. I think I know the game you are talking about, we used to play it when I was working, it was fun. I'm just way off track right, and hoping I can get myself back there. Hope everyone else is doing better. Take care and have a great weekend

The scale surprised me with .4 down. Well, my weight is driving me crazy. Who knows if I'll be up or down for WI on Mon. Today I'm going to make my instant pot vegetable soup for lunch. I was disappointed to find out I'd run our of the orzo I put in it and hadn't replaced it. But the good news is I will use the whole wheat elbows I have and instead of 2 pp it will be only 1 pp. I am double tracking again. I'm going to try to continue double tracking for a while. It just gives me feedback about what I'm eating and if I'm on the right track. I'm happy to report I still have weeklies left on WW. I haven't touched them on Healthi (new name for itrackbites) When the weeklies are gone and I'm in the negative it's hard to keep a good attitude. I think double tracking through the holidays and beyond will be helpful. Maybe I'll be able to get things figured out with that help. Have a good day everyone.

Today I stayed the same on the scale. At this point I am the same as last WI. WI is tomorrow. I will be happy with no gain. It seems like I'm getting a cold again. UGH! I thought after the bad one I had a few week back I was done for the season. I hope this one doesn't get bad. I'm glad i have my soup to eat. It came out good and a bit faster in the instant pot. I'm not sure how my eating will be the next few days or until I feel better. I want to have a loss because of getting the program figured out, not because of being sick. Have a good day!

Hello Everyone - Hope you've all had a good weekend sunrose - We'll just have to support each other with getting back on track Linda - Hope your WI goes alright tomorrow. And I hope you can shake that cold off quickly I actually walked today I know I was just making excuses for why I couldn't walk, so I made myself get back into walking. I don't walk very fast and probably don't get much aerobic benefit from it, but at least I'm moving around and not spending the whole day sitting - so I think that's something. My eating has been pretty good, but I could do better with that too. Take care everyone!

Hello - Hope you are all doing well today. I walked again today, hope I can keep that up now. I'm also eating a bit better, even though I'm probably getting more calories than I should. I haven't been tracking and might just take a break for the rest of this month. I could feel I was getting burned out from it back in early November. I may just wait until after Christmas and then get back to doing that since I know it helps me. Take care

Not sure how I missed posting here yesterday. WI I was down .8. I did change my numbers on my signature but I am thinking it was from being sick and not eating normally. I don't feel too bad and my cough is not bad like last time. But last time it was not bad for 1 week before it got bad. I hope since I started meds it will not get so bad this time. You know, thinking about it, I think I did write a post yesterday. I guess I forgot to click to post it. Yesterday DH and I picked out and ordered the gifts for the game. We are just waiting for a few things to arrive. We started planning our Christmas eve and Christmas dinner. DH and I will be by ourselves most of christmas day but some of the family will be around on Christmas eve and everyone the day after christmas. I think son-in-law is cooking dinner that day. it will be a challenging couple of days. I decided I'm going to track green as my primary plan right now. I'll double track the new plan but if I only have time for one, it will be green. I know I can make green work for the holidays and even now, not eating normally, there is 5-7 point difference in the two plans with PP being higher, and I get less points for pp. I need to have it be liveable and I'm hoping double tracking will teach me how I can do this. I like to do the current plan because when I go to meetings and I'm doing another plan, it just feels awkward and like the discussion doesn't apply to me. Have a good day everyone.

Scale hop has been down everyday this week.. I'm 1 lb down from WI day. But as I said, I'm not eating normally but not really that far off either. tomorrow DH and I will go for blood work. I was supposed to also go for mammogram and bone density but between no aide and van in the shop for 1 month, it wasn't possible. Dr app next week. I hope she can get the blood work. I'm double tracking. With green I'm not even using all my points but with PP, I'm using weeklies everyday. If I was feeling better I would probably be using more weeklies on green, which means pp might be too much. I guess I haven't really figured out PP yet. At the zoom meeting the leader said she had a day that a special meal took all her points so she planned to eat zeros for the rest of the day. I suppose that's possible. My "extra" zeros are chicken and turkey. I didn't pick any of the carbs because I don't have any of them everyday. That might be a challenge for me because I do need some carbs too, unless the point heavy meal has that covered. I'm guessing that's one of the things that make the program work. I've been thinking about that and will be trying to put it into practice during the holidays. Have a good day everyone,

Hello sunrose - Hope you are doing well Linda - I hope you can get your medical appointments/tests done soon. And I hope you can figure out PP. It has to be really frustrating to have been on a program that was working well and now everything has different points and you have to figure it all out again. I'm glad you can double track using green, since you liked that. I've been doing alright. I have been getting my walking in each day and I make sure to eat fruits, vegetables and dairy each day. But I have been overeating some and eating some junk foods. I just want to keep up the good habits each day and then once the holidays are over I can keep the junk out of the house. Today DH and I went for blood work. It's messed up the whole day. it was noon before I started my breakfast and I almost forgot to take my pills, although I made sure DH had everything he needed. I'm trying to figure out if I should have fast food lunch today like i normally do on Thurs. I really don't like having it on Fri. which is pizza night. Just not sure. I ate very light at breakfast since it was late and I wanted to have lunch but DH actually had a big breakfast and will probably skip lunch. On Sun. DH and I are going to a 1st birthday party for our nephew's little girl. We haven't met her yet with all this covid stuff. It's been so long since DH has been anywhere but the dr and i haven't been much of anywhere either. It is difficult between the wheelchair and his limitations. But we have been assured that everything there at the firehouse where the party will be, is set up to accommodate. We asked specific questions and the answers seemed good. We will see how it goes.
