Linda - Congratulations on the weight loss, hope it stays off I'm glad to hear about the negative covid test too. I admire you trying different "recipes" to make low point meals. Hope you can find some treat recipes too. Hope everyone is doing well and that you all have a good weekend

Well, my fast food lunch and pizza dinner put my weight right back where it was. At least it wasn't higher! And it was not really unexpected. I figured out a cookie dough recipe I'm going to try but I reduced the points by changing up a number of ingredients. I'm planning to try it sometime next week. probably on Mon. Today I have to wrap gifts for DGS who will be 6 this week. We are having a separate celebration for his birthday tomorrow, not including it with Christmas. As a person who has a birthday right after the holidays (Jan. 2), I totally agree with this idea. It's not really fun to have birthday and Christmas practically at the same time! I don't want to wrap everything yet because the 6 year old will be here, see wrapped presents and he will want to open things! Unfortunately my house doesn't have a lot of storage to put them out of sight. (It's funny, the condo where we used to live, had more storage than this house, which is significantly bigger. However, besides more and bigger closets, the condo also had a basement. this is an older house so I guess that's the reason. Built in the early 1960s. condo built in 1976. We moved into it new. When we first moved here, before DH's stroke, he built two additional small closets in our bedroom for me, he took the small closet that was already in the room, but still, we had more closet space in the condo.) For some reason my garmin vivofit didn't sync for the last few days. I manually synced it this morning. Suddenly I had 5 more activity points. However, the numbers seemed low. I wonder if all my steps were recorded. I'm just going to leave it alone because I don't really know if there were more steps or how many. Have a good day!

Ugh! another gain today, 0.6. I'm guessing it was the soy sauce in my lunch yesterday. Oh well. Today I tried to pretrack keeping in mind pizza for lunch and a cupcake, both for the birthday celebration. Still, I'm not sure about blue dot for today. It's okay though I did meet my goal of at least 5 blue dots this week. Unfortunately DD#3 will not be here with her family including DGS, the almost 3 year old. He was at urgent care on Fri. night. He had swelling in his mouth that they determined was caused by one of his 2 chipped front teeth. So on Sat. he was at the dentist. The tooth will be removed on Dec. 28 unless it give him too much pain. Well, he has a cold and DD#3 is also not feeling well. So, they can't come. It's disappointing. I found out our friend's daughter's whole family tested positive for covid. And her husband has been hospitalized with pneumonia caused by covid. I'm a bit concerned. He's only in his 40s but the fact he's hospitalize is scary. Tomorrow will be a crazy day. I am hoping to get DH up and give him breakfast so I can do the WW monday zoom meeting and then there is the virtual dr appt. We will see how that goes. Have a good day!

Hello sunrose - Hope you are doing well too Linda - Hope you see a loss again soon, it's funny how different foods affect our weight. I'm sorry to hear about your grandson's teeth problems, and hope they can fix them soon. It's too bad your daughter's family won't be able to come. I hope that your friend's daughter's family will get well soon too. I think one of the scariest things about covid, besides not knowing if you get it, is not knowing how your own body will react to it. Some people seem to do fine and get better, but for others they get so much sicker. Hope you can attend the Zoom meeting tomorrow. I'm doing alright, but I've been slacking with my eating and exercise. I'll try to stay on track as much as possible this week and once the holiday is over I hope I can get completely back on track. Hope everyone else is doing well and enjoying your weekend

Today the scale was down almost 2 lbs! However, I didn't do official WI today because I wasn't able to do the zoom meeting. I will do the other zoom meeting I like on Wed. and do WI that day. My stomach was bothering me yesterday. I think that's why the scale was down. But I did manage to eat an extra, unplanned cupcake yesterday. Put my pp weeklies in negatives but I still had 1 left on green. That's why I love green. Anyway, new week starts today. I heard that our friend's son-in-law is responding well to meds and they expect he will be doing a lot better in the next few days. Hope he makes it home for Christmas! DH and I had our virtual dr appts today. Everything looked good. Dr. said my a1c is below the prediabetic range. YAY! And Cholesterol was "okay". I take the supplement 8 greens each day to help with that because I don't do well with cholesterol meds. So a good report is always a plus. DGS(6) was so cute yesterday getting his gifts. He liked all of them, even the clothes. He didn't really want to wait till he got home to open and take out the toys but only one thing got opened and assembled. He was enjoying that. It was a crazy busy morning, which is why I'm posting late. Have a good day!

Hello Everyone sunrose - Sorry your scale is up, but I know you will get back on track. Like you said it's really hard during the holidays. I know there were a few years when I was "dieting" when I was totally into it and lost weight during the holidays, but I'm not there this year Linda - That's good news on your A1C, and I'm glad everything was good for your appointment. I'm happy for you that you have young relatives around to enjoy, they are so much fun. That's sweet that your grandson loved his gifts I'm doing alright, but I've totally stopped walking and I need to get back to that. I did throw out some food today that I didn't like and I figured if I don't like it I'm not going to make myself eat it. It was some small mincemeat pies that I made yesterday. The one I ate yesterday was alright, but trying them today I thought they tasted terrible. I've found that there are some mincemeat pies that I really like but others that I hate. I guess it's all in the ingredients. Hope everyone else is doing well. Take care

cj59, I never really liked mincemeat pie. My mother made them sometimes and I wasn't a fan. However, she also made filled cookies with a tablespoon or two of the mincemeat filling. I actually liked those. Probably because the cookie part was sweeter than a pie crust and that balanced the somewhat bitter flavor of the mince meat. Scale hop was up .4. Up and down on the scale but I feel like my eating is pretty consistent. Today I made my "experimental" cookie dough treat, well, I started it. It's resting in the fridge and then I have to make bite size pieces. It's experimental because I modified the WW recipe. It looks and smells good. We will see later if it tastes like a treat. I feel like my cold is almost gone and I'm trying to eat more normally. I'm almost there but we will see how my body reacts. I'm happy to say that even though we still have cupcakes here, I have not been tempted by them. DH doesn't like a lot of sweet frosting on his cake so he wasn't interested in having one for his snack. I have to get his food for him so that would mean I'd be looking at and handling a cupcake if he wanted one. But there was no reason for me to even look at them, although I admit I looked this morning to see if other people have been eating them. There are still a few left but with me having a treat planned, I think I'll be safe from a cupcake attack! LOL Have a good day!

I went to a zoom meeting this morning and the coach said something that maybe I should have known, but I didn't. She said, you can switch yourself to maintenance anytime you want to. It gives you 6 more daily points. So I did that and as of today I'm on maintenance. Today recalculated in the tracker but mon. and tues did not. I want to continue to lose but most likely that's not happening the next two weeks. Also, I think that this just about equals green. It gives me more daily points to make up for 3 fewer daily points, more foods I eat that are higher than lower than previously on sp, and the loss of 7 weeklies. I'm hoping this will teach me how to use pp better. And I can make my goal to gradually reduce how many points I'm using and hopefully eventually be able to switch back to "weight loss". As always, it's a work in progress. I'm going to try not to track green as well but today i already tracked green before the I changed my tracker. I really needed to do that because I was having an attitude issue. Yesterday I had another cupcake encounter. I tried to avoid it but it didn't work and I went back for it. I didn't want to track it and I put an entry in my tracker but didn't put in the correct points. I'm cheating . . . yes, I know, I'm cheating myself. But it makes me feel better to not see negative numbers. This is one reason I changed to maintenance. You might be wondering what was the difference about the cupcake, why was it okay the day before but not yesterday. Someone moved them. They were in an out of the way, unnoticeable place. But now, they are in the middle of the counter. I guess they caught me by surprise. I am hoping that other people will notice them and eat them before I have another cupcake encounter. I did WI today. Down .2. Have a good day!

Hi Linda - Congratulations on the loss. I think you have a good plan for working out PP over the holidays, I hope the extra points help you. I don't have a lot of resistance to treats in the house if I can see them, so I understand about the cupcake. I know the best thing for me when I'm serious about losing weight is to not have any sweets in the house at all. I think we all have to be kind to ourselves over the holidays Hope everyone is doing well. My eating has been pretty good, but I really want to get back to walking each day. I've had a few busy days this week and I always use them as an excuse not to walk. I need to stop doing that Take care

I agree, cj59, not having treats in the house is the best option. Unfortunately, that's not realistic for me. DH is allowed to have treats and should not be denied them just because he has to rely on me to get them for him. He is much better than I am at regulating how much he is having. Although some of the treats he has I really like, too, most of the time I am not tempted by his treats. Also my daughter's family lives here too, 4 adults (the grandsons are 19 and 18). I don't use any of the food they buy and I have been able to maintain an attitude of "that's not for me." As long as I have go-to treats available to me, I can usually talk myself out of indulging in a high point choice. Nice cream worked so well for me in the summer but I'm still struggling with finding equally good options for colder weather. The cupcakes are a different story. They were brought here to celebrate DGS(6) birthday on Sun. We have to have all family get-togethers here for two reasons, we have the space to have everyone at our house and besides it being hard to get DH out, in the case of DD#2's house, there is no wheelchair access to enter the house. DD#3 lives in an apartment which has accessibility. We were supposed to go there last week but with the covid exposures, all plans were canceled. The leftover cupcakes were left here on Sun because yesterday, on DGS(6)"s actual birthday, they were having another celebration at their house with extended family on DD#2's in-laws side. So they didn't want extra cupcakes there. Meanwhile, the cupcakes here are being ignored by everyone! I'm surprised the two older grandsons haven't been all over those! (I wish they would make them disappear! LOL) Anyway, I didn't realize how stressed I was feeling about trying to make the new plan work and double tracking trying to hold on to green. Today I feel so much better and was anxious (in a good way) to see how tracking today would come out. And it came out good! Just because I have more points doesn't mean I'll use more than I normally do. And I had plenty of points for the snacks I normally enjoy, which sometimes I have to skip to make the numbers okay with the plan. I pre-tracked 29/33 with 14 weeklies. I have an online WW friend from another state. I had met her years ago on the old WW message board. We email everyday to keep ourselves accountable. She's doing maintenance with me though the holidays. She is struggling with the new plan too and when I told her what I was doing, she decided it sounded good to her too. It's Christmas! We don't want to be distracted from the fun of the holiday with a WW plan we are struggling with!

Hi Linda - I'm glad you have an online friend to help with accountability, I'm sure that extra support helps. It is difficult avoiding foods that are in the house like those cupcakes. But it sounds like the change you made to your points/status will help you over the holiday. I had to go out this morning, but don't have to go out again until next week, so I really hope I can get up and walk each morning over the next few days. I know the longer I get away from exercise, the harder it is to get back into it. Hope everyone is doing well and that you'll check in over the holidays to say "hello". Take care
