This is a monthly thread for those of us who have a lot of weight to lose. The definition of “a lot” is something that is determined personally, so everyone who feels they have a lot of weight to lose is welcome to post here.
Please join us in offering support, checking in for accountability, help with questions, etc. We’re in this for the long haul.
We’d also love to hear from those of you who are maintaining a large loss. We need those tips to help us to keep the weight off once we lose it.

Hello Everyone - Thought I'd start a new monthly thread for us sunrose - I hope your son enjoyed his birthday. wwlurker - good luck with this week, sounds like it will be busy and challenging for you. I'm doing better today, after that weekend of crazy eating I weighed in today and I'm the same weight as last Monday, only 0.2 lbs over my goal weight, so I'm glad about that. I can imagine that I'll be up over the next two days (the effect of the food from Sat/Sun), so I'm staying off the scale until next Monday. This is the start of my 5th week on Maintenance and with the crazy last week, I'm not sure if I'm really learning anything. But I guess Maintenance is a long term learning process.

Good morning! thanks for starting the new thread, cj59; I completely forgot! I'm up early today to prepare for a meeting; I'm going to be so tired later! Yesterday was good until supper. I overindulged at supper after not eating enough during the day. I met up with some work friends and we went out. I was planning on going out to eat anyway, but I probably would not have eaten as much! cj59 - you are kicking maintenance's butt! sunrose49 - Hope you are doing well! Today I'm in meetings all day. I should have time for healthy eating though; I just have to watch my water so that I don't have to take too many breaks! Hope everyone has a great, OP day!

Hi wwlurker - Between the two of us, we'll remember to start the monthly thread It's really tough not to overindulge when we go out. I hope today is easier for you food wise and that your meetings go well Thanks for the kind words on Maintenance. A part of me does feel like I'm doing well, but I've had a few days of overeating and also have eaten more junk food over this last month than I normally do. I'm trying to limit that this month, because I'm concerned that I'll get to a point where I want to do it all the time. I need to save that food for special times and then hopefully I'll enjoy it more. sunrose - Hope you are doing well today! Also hope anyone else checking in and reading is doing well on their plans and will post if they want to.

Hello Everyone Checking in for the day and I'm doing well so far this week and staying on track. I think after the eating fest over the weekend, I really want to do well this week. Hope you are all doing well on your plans.

Hello Everyone - Hope you are doing well today I'm doing well and staying on track. I went grocery shopping today and did buy a few treats, but tried to get the ones with less points and I plan to stretch them out over several days or weeks. I've found that I really want to lose about 2 more pounds so I can be at least 2 pounds below my goal weight. I was at that weight for several weeks, before I overate recently, so I'm hoping with a good week this week when I weigh in on Monday I'll be back where I was. It just feels more comfortable to me to be a little bit below the goal weight number.

Good morning
Sorry for being MIA again
cj59 looks like you are doing good on maintenance!
wwlurker hope the meetings are over. I don't miss that.
My DS did have a good birthday. He is still celebrating with friends taking him out.
I had a great WW meeting yesterday. I really like the Leader on Thursday and the members. Still getting my steps in. It is raining here today so my walk will be on the TM.

Good morning! Sorry I've been MIA as well. I missed my appt this week and had to do an express weigh this week. Luckily, it was with my nutritionist, so it was really just like a mini-session. I'm up 2.4 but I'm not surprised. I've been really off the rails. I'm trying to get back on this week. cj59 - are you going to reduce your points to get the two pounds off, or just try to make better choices with your points? sunrose49 - a good leader makes all the difference! Hope everyone has a great, OP day!

Hello Everyone - Hope you are doing well and ready for the weekend sunrose - It's great that you have a WW meeting and leader that you like. When I was going to meetings several years ago I had a really motivational leader and that helps. Hope your treadmill walk was nice. wwlurker - Hang in there - your life is so busy and hectic, but I know you are dedicated to this program. Hope the weekend goes well for you. I'm doing pretty well on Maintenance, but all that overeating last weekend really threw me off. I've been all track all this week, so I'm hoping to be back down a few pounds on Monday. I didn't change my daily points this week, but I haven't (and don't plan to) eaten all my weekly points this week, because of the massive amount of points I ate last weekend! I've been thinking that I may just extend Maintenance a few weeks, so I figure out if I really do have the right amount of daily points to maintain my loss after I'm back down to a few pounds below my goal weight. I can see, that like everyone says, maintaining that goal weight takes a lot of work and adjustment.

Good morning
wwlurker sorry about the gain, but like cj59 said you have been really busy! It's hard sometimes.
cj59 you seem to be doing good on maintenance. Maybe when I get back to goal I will seriously look at that again.
One of the members yesterday reached her goal and the WW Leader talked a bit about maintenance. She said she never did it right (I didn't either). Gosh that was so long ago when I made LT. I can still remember how exciting it was. My mom and I use to go together. I really miss her :-( My mom pretty much had a weight problem her whole adult life. She did WW when I was in high school (many moons ago). She was always so supportive of my sister and I regarding our weight. We were a big (no pun indented) WW family. My sister just lost 52 pounds with 21 Day Fix and WW. She looks awesome and feels awesome.
Sorry for rambling...lol

Hi sunrose - I'm sure you'll get Maintenance right this time That's great that your sister lost weight and feels well. It's all about finding the program that works for us. I wish my mother had lived longer and that she and I could have done WW together. All the women on my mother's side of the family had a weight problem, and she died in the late 1970s. I started WW in the early 1980s and did well on it, I only gained back the weight when I quit going - which happens to lots of us I'm rethinking my goal weight and Maintenance a little bit. I want to be at least 2-5 pounds below my goal weight so I have a buffer. I've read several Lifetimers do it this way and it seems to work for them. I decided I would just eat 21 weekly points this week, and then increase that to 28 weekly points next week and then up to the 35 the week after that. I'm going to leave my daily points at 24 and hopefully I'll maintain and not see any gains over the next two weeks. wwlurker - Hope you are doing well this weekend

Good morning
cj59 I'm sorry you didn't get to do WW with your mom. I come from a family of over weight people with health issues. I need to keep that in mind and get my act together. It sounds like you are doing maintenance right to me. I was below my goal to give me a buffer and it worked well.
wwlurker hope you are having a good weekend.
I took a semi DOR yesterday with the rain. I was a true couch potato. I did get in a little over 7K steps. Today I will be back to reaching my 10K steps. I really need to add weights in.

Hi sunrose - We're all entitled to a day of rest sometimes I hope you were able to get your steps in today. I need to do some work with weights too, but I'm too lazy. I feel like I'm doing well just to get my walking in
My family has the same weight related health issues. I'm sure obesity was a major factor in my mother's death. I always felt I was doomed to be overweight, but I'm hoping that I'll be able to keep the weight off this time and avoid some of those diseases others in my family had.
I'm doing well today and staying on track. I'm interested to see what my weight is tomorrow, since I've had a good week. I'm trying to keep on track this month and not have any out of control days.
wwlurker - Hope you are doing well today

Good morning everyone! cj59, sunrose49 - thank you both for your kind encouragement. This weekend I did some advance planning for once and some meal prep. I feel much better able to navigate the week ahead now. I took a peek at the scale this am and I'm still up. I wasn't totally OP this weekend (my evenings were killing me). I managed to get to yoga, but my back is a bit tired this morning, so I skipped the gym. I'm back OP now and looking towards this week's challenges. I have an all-day thing on Thursday which leads into an event that night, so my eating will largely be sporadic and difficult that day. I will need to figure out a plan for that. I'm also going away this weekend. I have a work thing on Monday and need to travel on Sunday for that, so I'm taking the family and leaving on Saturday instead of Sunday for a quick trip away. We will come back late Monday night. I'm hoping that DH and I can make some quick plans for food while we are away. The good news is that there won't be any alcohol except perhaps a drink with a meal out, so that's one less thing to worry about. I also have a family history of obesity. Both of my parents have poor health related to lifestyle choices. It definitely makes me want to take better care of myself! Hope everyone has a great, OP day!
