Monday Morning you sure look fine!!! Ok- quoting from an old Fleetwood Mac song, but that is what I first thought of starting us off.
Think last night I might have found two different panels for the baby quilts- I left both of them in open browsers and will check them out a bit later. Of course the big concern is the coordinating fabrics and how much the final quilt will cost. That much I have not checked out. Guess I should check out Joanns also.
Ruth and CJ, did you sleep well last night? See ya later…
And Phyl and Sue, if you are reading, good morning and we hope you are well. G

Ginny, I think that you posted two the same. I really like both of the ones there but I'm kind of leaning toward the one that says Sweet Dreams. I saw a crochet pattern last night that says the same and I'm thinking of making it although it's a complicated pattern and will take time.
CJ, bright pink is not usually a color I like a lot but I do like it in that quilt you posted .I've never seen a quilt made like that one and I really like how it looks
I'm still working on the messy bun hats because the first one I made turned out small.
Thank you for asking but no, I didn't sleep well at all which is unusual for me nowdays. It's the phone call I have to make that stressed me. I hate having to call companies as I mentioned. Guess I'll get busy and do it
See you later

Ginny, that's the one I like the best...that third one you posted. And, well, at least you got to look at quilt panels so you did do some crafting, Long days of babysitting are a challenge for sure.
CJ, I hope you're having a good day. We miss you when you're not here.
I spent a good part of my day with my neighbor. He needed to go in town to a bank and he needed help getting out to my car and then back in the house. He is known as real talker and today was no different. He spends most of his time alone and that's not easy for him because he's used to keeping busy and marathon talking to everyone he meets. So once I got him back in his house he wanted to talk which is understandable as his wife, who like him, is 73 years old she still insists on working so he's alone all day and well into the evening.
So now, although I should do some work around the house I think I'll sit and crochet and talk to my dh.I have one more hat to finish and maybe I'll make another too because I don't plan on going to dd's house until maybe Thurs.

Hello Ginny - All of those panels are cute, hope you pick one that you like to make a baby quilt. Ruth - Hope you were able to take care of your business calls. That's nice of you helping your neighbor. It was a sunny, coldish day here for the first day of Spring. I think the rest of the week will be milder. I finished the quilt top for the March Block a Day quilt along that Pat Sloan is doing this month. I just wanted to get it finished since I have so many other projects going on. I'm happy with how it turned out. I'll try to post a picture in the next few days. I think next I'll try to start making the large half square triangles that go around the Holiday Hoopla quilt since there are only two blocks left in that quilt along. I need to make 24 of them. I'm hoping the fabrics I've picked for them will look alright. I guess I'll see after I make a few of them. Take care

Good morning, CJ- yay!! You got the quilt top for the March Block a day quilt completed. Looking forward to seeing a picture of it when you do post one- and it’s great that you are pleased with the finished product. Yes, the great mystery of quilting- selecting fabrics with the hope that they will look good together when we finish cutting the fabric into little pieces and sewing the little pieces back together. With only 2 blocks left, well, I guess you could select different fabrics if the fabrics you are going to try to not please you. I bet they will look great together, and hope you are happy.
Ruth, so kind of you to help your neighbor out. Very kind of you to stay with your neighbor and listen to him talk (got a friend who did that to me last week on the phone). It takes a lot of patience, and you do have other things to do. Were you able to make the phone calls that were worrying you??
The issue with the baby quilts is that I have to make two. (She is carrying twins). Think I will select a panel and just change the border and backing fabrics so they look the same but not identical.

CJ, congratulations on getting another quilt top completed. I'm looking forward to seeing the picture. I hope your fabric choices work for you. YOu're so good at choosing fabrics that work well together. It's so great to have a hobby involving crafting. I don't know what I'd do with my time if I wasn't involved in all the aspects of crocheting and I bet you feel the same
Ginny, your plan for the baby quilts sounds very good. Having the same panel in each with a different border, etc is definitely a good idea.I'm sure the mother of these children will love the quilts. Yes my neighbor is a serious talker. Even in normal times but now that he's sick and can't get out and around I can't even imagine how that feels to him not being able to walk around the neighborhood and chat. We did have a long conversation on the phone and then the subject of his going to the bank came up and I immediately decided to drive him there if he would let me because he should not be driving in his present condition. Of course he talked the entire time we were driving and after we got back here. I'm glad I did it even though it did take a huge part of my day. This is the neighbor that has done so much for us and the least I can do is give him some company and an opportunity to talk.I could tell he liked having company because I must have said at least 8 times that I had to leave. He's in really bad shape and I'd say he probably doesn't have much time left.
I did get a hat finished and worked some on my gingham blanket. Today will be a usual day with a little cleaning and crocheting. I still need to do my taxes which will be tomorrow. And good thing I didn't try doing them earlier because on this past Friday I got another piece of info in the mail that I needed for my tax preparation. Aren't they supposed to send all that in January?

Ugh, Ruth I think everything is supposed to be in the mail to taxpayers by February 1. There are other forms that might be mailed later, so that January 31/February 1 deadline is not cast in stone. I do remember a form that arrived in March once, and my taxes were done already. It was not a significant form and would have changed my taxes by a tiny amount. What a pain in the neck, isn’t it? You were such a blessing to your neighbor to volunteer to get him to the bank. How very sad that he is so weak/sick. I bet it was a great comfort to him that you helped get him to the bank and home. Glad you were able to finish another hat (is this one a baby hat?) and spend some time on the gingham afghan. Did you get all your cleaning done so you could crochet more? Best of luck today getting your taxes done. I hope the process goes easily for you and so you can put that behind you.
CJ- hope you are ok and happily working on another pretty quilt.
I worked a few hours this am, and got to the store. It was sunny and warm, so I did get a walk in- but now the clouds are coming in. Think I will sit down and get the border on the quilt.

Hello - Hope you are all well today and having good weather. It's in the 60s here today, so I guess our colder weather is probably gone now. Ginny - I think that's a great plan for the baby quilts, hope you pick a panel that you'll like to use for both. Ruth - It was nice of you to spend some time with your neighbor and let him talk. Sounds like he was always good to you and he needed some company. I finished the two quilt blocks from this week's Pat Sloan quilt alongs and I'll be so glad to be done with these. The blocks just all seem the same to me. I heard her talking about the next Wednesday quilt along starting this summer and I think it's time for me to quit doing them - after I finish these last two. I'd rather work on using my quilt kits. Take care

CJ, what a frightening experience!!! That would have bothered me for days. It's strange that he picked just you to talk to about his locked car problem. If there was another woman there why didn't he ask her for help also or both of you but mainly why didn't, as you said, he go back in the store or why didn't he call someone. About 99.9% of people have cell phones with them. And yes, anyone can buy badges to carry around. I'm glad I live in a relatively safe place and I sure wish you did also. I remember when you changed to your present lawn care people. I'm sorry you won't be able to use them anymore. I hope you can find another reliable company. That would stress me also. Any change in my life stresses me and almost everyone I know thinks I'm a very calm person. They don't know that inside I'm "stressing out".
And thank you both. I'm definitely a caregiver type person. And Ginny, I think you are also as evidenced by you doing the same on the phone with your friend. She needed someone to talk out her problems with and you were there for her.I also remember that there was a neighbor that you also comforted.
I think I like the other panels that you showed us more but this company has some really great fabric. I especially like the fabric with all the stars and the one that has all the little animals. I think that it might be better to use a panel that doesn't say baby on it because the babies might end up using these quilts for years (even though they will be baby size) but especially boys won't want to carry around a quilt that says baby. Most of the little boys in my family don't like to remember that they are little. I remember my oldest grandchild, when he was about 3, I told him he was a cute little boy said strongly "I am not little, I am big" He's 32 now..
The hat I was working on was the last of the messy bun/ponytail hats. I did work on the gingham blanket some more Ok, on to be stressed by doing my tax. I'm going to pray for calmness before I start.
Have a good day everyone!

CJ- what a horrible experience. Who knows what was in the mind of this individual, but it does sound sketchy to me. A cart full of groceries could be a prop that this person keeps with him all the time as he looks for a victim. Of course it could have been legitimate also. Long story…but my mom had something happen when she was in her mid 80’s and the person actually followed her home in his car. I remember asking her why she did not drive to the police station to throw the person off. If you carry a cell phone with you…think it would be a good idea to tell the person you will call 911 for them. If they are for real, they will be thankful for the assistance. I do know that in the moment, it’s overwhelming. Gosh I hope you are able to find someone for your lawn. It’s very possible though that an individual (especially if recommended by your lawn company) might be very responsible, even a large lawn company started as a small service. Guess I would call and see what he says.
Ruth, take a big deep breath and get those taxes done!!! I remember very well being stressed out over the whole process, when I used to calculate everything myself and triple check all my answers. What a pain. Are you enjoying working on the gingham afghan?
My friend in Florida is still a concern….she texts a lot- at least the long phone calls are not happening any more. She is hurting. Right now she is being confronted on many different areas of her life, and I feel awful for her. Time will heal a some of her wounds…. The rest…prayer
After some slight drama, I got the inner border on the quilt.think I will embroider a bit now….quilt more tomorrow.

I was thinking the same thing about the cart of groceries being a prop. As you said, Ginny, he could have been legit but it seems strange to me that someone would ask a woman for help when there were probably men around that he could ask.And yes, at the moment It's not easy to think of what you should do. I do recommend not opening your window even a crack. Make sure your doors are locked and start the car and pull out. As Ginny said, in the moment everything just goes out of your mind as far as what to do and your fear takes over. And Ginny, you're right about driving to a police station and now we could call 911 and tell them to send someone right outside.
Ginny, I'm sorry that you had trouble with the inner border of the quilt. Embroidery seems to be relaxing to you so good that you stopped and did that instead
Doing my taxes went great and are now all done and filed. Now I'm crocheting and working on a trinity stitch baby blanket and I'll also do a couple rows on my gingham blanket before sleep. Yes working on the gingham is easy and fun to do and it's very pretty. I'm using what I think is called the griddle stitch...not sure of the name but it's sc in one stitch, dc in the next and repeat.Blocks are 11 stitches wide and 10 rows high.
I hope you both are having a restful night. Last night I had a hard time getting to sleep
