Happy New Year!!! Let's say goodbye to 2023 and hello 2024! We're all here because we want to lose weight and get fit -but how about we focus on treating ourselves better? Let's give ourselves the respect and caring advice and support that we'd give to our friends. We can be so hard on ourselves! Let's focus on being and showing ourselves respect by getting in some exercise each day and adding more fruits and vegetables to our diet, maybe try to get to bed a little earlier, and keep up our social connections. Let's see what showing a little self love can do for our overall health?! WELCOME EVERYONE, anytime, and yes you can walk/jog/run or combo, cycle, spin, swim, aerobic classes, elliptical machine, yoga, Pilates, strength train and core work too! Each week you set and post your own attainable mileage/minutes goal and strive to achieve it. Saturday through Friday is our fitness week with Saturday morning weigh-in (WI). WIs are encouraged but optional. There is no judgement here. - Join in on the August water-exercise challenge if you want to, but no pressure if you want to do something else. This challenge runs January 1 through January 31, 2024. Our challengers: Amy- 192 Brenda- 225 Deb- 152.6 Mo- 226.8 Hello everybody and happy new year!! Welcome 2024! A new year and a fresh start. Good morning! Well, I didn't get off to the best start this morning as I was technically still on call for work until 8:00am this morning. I got a call at 6:00am for something that is NOT our groups responsibility and shouldn't have come up. Arg! I SO wanted just one morning to not have to get up or get ready for something. Oh well.
I hope this thread is okay? Please feel free to edit the first post so it's better.
I have started working on treating myself better and trying to catch myself when I'm berating myself by asking, "would I say that to a friend?". I really have a self esteem problem and I do think if I was kinder and more forgiving of myself that I'd get healthier naturally. Eating enough produce, leaner protein, exercising, hanging out with family and friends -those are all ways of treating myself with respect.
It's nice that its bright and sunny out to encourage to head outdoors for walk and also to expose myself to some sunlight!

Good morning! Well, yesterday was a bit of a disaster in terms of self care but today is going well. I went to the gym this morning and did the arm weight machines, 15 minutes of rowing and then {drum roll} I stretched a good 20-25 minutes on a mat and even did a balance exercise I used to good about doing of standing one leg at a time on a half bozu ball! I don't know why I got out of the habit of stretching every morning, I feel so good afterwards!
It's a serious NSV, as I didn't want to go to the gym and was attempted to say I'd go later in the morning or at lunchtime or after work -which almost NEVER happens. Now for challenge #2 -go for a 30 minutes walk outdoors today in the sunlight. And the toughest challenge of all, #3, eat mostly whole foods today and stop when full.

I am paying for tracking. right now I pay about half the normal price.i am gong to save money to save for my trust that my brother has for me. I will send 2 payments form Stable in May and October and that would help me get to New York in an emergency. I am getting tested for a particular familial gene that cause ALs the firsts week of February. I do not yet yet have a cardiologist appointment which I need to get lidocaine. They probably have read the results of my tests and are not in a hurry. my case manager comes today and I want to ask her for help in getting that appointment.

Bummer! I'm sorry to say that I posted the wrong weight for my first WI of the year. How I WISH that I weighed 152.6, lol! But I had to get real. Hopefully, 6 months from now I'll be in the 150s!
