Good Evening Challengers
Yesterday I did all 6 of my main HHs, stayed in my đź’› zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 0 snack, used 31 pts. I walked 3.6 mi to pick up takeout breakfast from our regular restaurant. DH is too sick to go out.
My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) yesterday: - Do at least 10 mins of PT: N - Avoid salted snacks: 💚 - No “seconds” with snack: 💚 - No eating out of a container: 💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚 - Evening: Snack on Inspo; Read quotes, whys and goals: 💚 - FFE (Food-Free Evenings): 💚 - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚
DH is still struggling with the cold and dry cough. For Super Bowl dinner I had gotten him wings and roasted yams, and I heated up frozen vegetable samosas, which we both like.

Yesterday, I added 2 miles.
We are to get snow today. Hoping in does not get too bad. Hate to think of shoveling when I get home.

TUESDAY!
Sounds like things are going mostly well for each of us!
The Superbowl was a good game, wasn't it? I love to watch a good game with talented players, and I didn't really care who won. We are closer to KC, though, so most people around here are Chiefs fans. BTW, my cousin filmed the State Farm ad with Arnold S. -- so fun to have a tiny connection!
Went to water class Sunday, and swimming laps today. Stretching both times.

Good Evening Challengers
Yesterday I did 3/6 of my main HHs, stayed in my đź’› zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 1 snack, used 29 pts. I was only above my green zone by 1 pt. I walked 2.2 mi before breakfast. DH was too sick to go out.
My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) yesterday: - Do at least 10 mins of PT: N - Avoid salted snacks: N - No “seconds” with snack: 💚 - No eating out of a container: 💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚 - Evening: Snack on Inspo; Read quotes, whys and goals: N - FFE (Food-Free Evenings): N - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚
My KISS HH about “no seconds” with snack was a big difference-maker, and I counted out the salted snack foods, tracked them and committed to stop with that. It’s still risky for me, but I do love to see the progress.
Yesterday I made dinner because DH was not able to. He seems better today 🥳. He moved off the recliner, took out trash, did some work on the computer and made dinner!
Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.

Yesterday I did all 6 of my main HHs, stayed in my đź’š zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 1 snack, used 23 pts. I walked 2.2 mi before breakfast. DH still too sick to go out.

Yesterday was work at the office and then back in my home office. DH made dinner last night and despite the fact that his cough is bothering him, he’s making a nice treat for tonight - roasted eggplant. I can smell it all the way upstairs. 🍆
KELLY - GJ with the 2 mi Mon. Hope you didn’t have to shovel snow when you got home yesterday. Maybe you can pay a neighbor kid to keep your driveway and walkways clear?
CAROL - GFY with stretching, and water class Sun and lap swim Tues. That’s so cool about your cousin fklmjng the State Farm commercial. I liked those.

WEDNESDAY!
CAIT -- I'm glad to hear your DH is feeling some better. Fred does most of the cooking around here; I probably only cook once a week. Of course, I make our bread and can our veggies.
I went to water class today and stretched. I think the pool in the gym closer to my house will be opening soon, so I may go there for water classes but still go to the "far" pool to swim laps. I think the closer pool is not 25 yards. Also, the "far" pool holds water classes outside in the summer, which I really enjoy.
Happy Valentine's Day, everyone. Oh, we woke up to a good laugh this morning; we got each other the same card! We think we did it once before, but it's still pretty amazing!

Good Morning!! I added miles WATP Tues-Wed.
The drive to work on Tuesday was treacherous. I 20 minute ride took 45 minutes. Later the Sun came out and the ride home, you could hardly tell it snowed.
Tuesday was a very high point day day. I actually ate 3 Fasnachts at work. I made us a nice meal for Valentine's day instead of going out. We had crab pretzel for an appetizer, Pork ribs with sugar free barbecue sauce, old bay steamed shrimp, green beans, and later some strawberry cheesecake. Yesterday, we went to have Leroy's cast adjusted by the time we got home it had already slid down. So back we had to go again. This time they casted his foot too. I have no idea why the very 1st cast stayed in place for 3 weeks and noone could do the same with their casting. Very frustrating. Rested most of the rest of the day. I am really getting exhausted. We actually missed Bible Study last night. Cait: Good job on your walking despite the DH not going along. Glad you got yourself right back on track with your HHs. Sounds like the DH is getting better. Carol: Good job on your Water class and stretching. Funny about the Valentine's Day card. Glad you enjoyed the Super Bowl. We did not watch. I don't think I have seen one since 2018. DH does not watch sports and the Super Bowl goes too late for me here on the East Coast since I get up at 4 am on work days. Michelle: Awesome steps and good job for Clair and her PT. Waving to all!! Happy Walking!! WATP/EX: 219.89 Tracker miles:369.90 2024 WATP/EX miles:106.39 Tracker Miles: 167.96

Yesterday I did all 6 of my main HHs, stayed in my 🧡 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 1 snack, used 48 pts. I walked 2.2 mi before breakfast. DH still too sick to go out.

I got us a chocolate mousse cake for Valentines. DH had gotten me an orchid last week. I had a small serving of the cake, maybe an inch and a half square, but it was at least 7 pts. Not worth it IMO. And it sort of opened to door to more “treats” later. But I weighed and measured, tracked and stopped and didn’t eat more and did JGTB so that’s progress. Anyway I’m not much for cake. I’m more of a pie and cookies fan, and trying to limit/avoid all of these ultra processed sugar products, especially after reading about how they affect metabolism.

Good Morning!!
I added 2 miles of WATP, yesterday.
Hoping to get some rest over the weekend. Suppose to have some snow Fr- Saturday, so may have some shoveling to do.
Cait: Good job on your good day. I always hate when I splurge and it was not worth it. My Fasnachts were definitely worth it.

TGIFRIDAY!
Re: splurges. I agree! I have been very vigilant to avoid, especially, fried foods since my heart attack. Once in the fall on vacation, the beach diner where we were eating had a broken shrimp cooker, so I had to have fried fish. I didn't eat much if any of the coating, but I sure didn't enjoy it. Another time at a pub I had 1.5 of Fred's french fries, and it was so not worth it!
MICHELLE -- that's a lot of steps! Good going!
CAIT -- good HH day!
KELLY -- so frustrating about the cast! We can't figure out why the cabinet maker wasn't able to duplicate the finish we wanted. Thank goodness Randy agreed to take over. Leroy needs a "Randy!"
Yesterday I did a band workout and I swam laps today and stretched. We're leaving tomorrow for Colorado, so I won't be posting regularly.

Good Morning Challengers Yesterday I did all 6 of my main HHs, stayed in my 💚 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 0 snack, used 27 pts. We walked 2.2 mi before breakfast. DH’s first day back walking in a week! My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) yesterday: - Do at least 10 mins of PT: N - Avoid salted snacks: 💚 - No “seconds” with snack: 💚 - No eating out of a container: 💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚 - Evening: Snack on Inspo; Read quotes, whys and goals: 💚 - FFE (Food-Free Evenings): 💚 - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚 Our walking team is back 🥳. Yesterday I had office work and then got my hair cut and did errands. This am I attended my weekly virtual WW workshop and it was great - “A new way to respond to setbacks.” It was about showing ourselves compassion and people shared such moving stories, feelings and experiences. Very inspiring. I realized I need to respond to the negative thoughts about myself and my body when I notice them - these can be so harmful because the thoughts->feelings->actions. Thoughts are not facts, but if we don’t call them out, reframe them, revise them, pointing ourselves to the bigger, more positive and helpful picture, they can become facts! Everyone faces setbacks—they’re totally normal! Also normal: Being tough on yourself afterward. But science says there’s a better way to get back on track.Would you ever lecture a friend who veered off-track about what they should have done or point out every wrong choice? Probably not. We tend to be our pals’ biggest cheerleaders and kindest confidants—all while being our own worst critics when we’re the ones making mistakes.

But the truth is, responding to your slip-ups with judgment and criticism makes you less likely to reach your goals. Research suggests it’s compassion and acceptance—and treating yourself like you would a friend—that are associated with healthy behaviors, overcoming obstacles, and getting back on track. Not tough love.

How you think about and talk to yourself is key to moving forward. But the shift toward self-compassion may not happen overnight. It can take practice to flex those muscles. Start by focusing on how you talk to yourself (and others) so you can make changes. [/b] Here’s the “3 Fast Facts”: And the link to the full article: www.weightwatchers.com/us/m/cms/new-way-to-respond-to-setbacksMICHELLE - Awesome step totals Sun thru Wed and Clair’s 💯PT. KELLY - GFY with the Tues and Wed WATP miles, and 2 mi WATP Thurs. The drive Tues to work sounds very wearing. Glad you enjoyed the Fasnachts. I don’t think I’ve ever had that. So frustrating about Leroy’s cast. I hope you have a restful weekend and not a lot of shoveling to do! CAROL - Too cute about you and Fred getting each other the same card ♥️♥️! GFY with the water class and stretching Wed, the Thurs band workout and Fri lap swim and stretching. That will be nice if the closer pool opens for water classes. Good wishes for safe travels to CO! re fried foods - I’ve also lost my desire for them by laying off of them for health reasons, and DH has less attraction to them than he used to, but he does order fries often when we go out. I used to eat 1 or 2 of his fries, like you did, but I don’t any longer. They just don’t appeal to me. I have a theory that what we like, our “tastes,” depends more on what we’re accustomed to eating than on innate taste preferences. And we can change what we’re accustomed to! Funny story - When we were remodeling our house we wanted ceiling fans in every room except the bathrooms. I noticed that the guy doing the work hadn’t prepped to put one in the kitchen and I pointed it out to him. He said he didn’t think we’d want one there because of the cooking grease. I was taken aback! I said “We don’t cook with grease….” He looked shocked - he couldn’t imagine that. Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other. Cait

I read most of the day, fell asleep for a little while in the afternoon - unusual for me. I ate the salted snacks in the evening, but at least I measured it out, tracked it, stopped before going above my red zone, and did JGTB, didn’t start reading until I was in bed.

Good Morning!!
Snow was not too bad only had to shovel the deck and the stairs. Did not lay on the driveway.
I added 5 miles some WATP and some stepping in place.
Rested and read a lot this weekend.
Church yesterday.
Cait: Good job on your good days. Glad the DH is better and was able to get back to walking. Fasnachts are basically doughnuts no whole and usually made with potatoes. Not sure if they made theirs with the potatoes but they were definitely addicting.
Carol: Good job on your workout. Enjoy your trip.
