We are walkers, joggers, bicyclists, and some do other exercise. We set goals and keep track by miles. You can set your goal for any amount, count your miles any way you wish. The goal is consistency with exercise.
We started Jan. 20, 2003 on the WW Challenge Central Board as "250 Miles by June 1" & we've done 51 five-month walking challenges, including the one we finished April 1, 2024. You can find us on wwmessageboard.freeforums.net at wwmessageboard.freeforums.net/board/12/challenges
The group challenge is to average about 2 miles a day, 13 miles a week, or 50 miles a month; if you do it, in 5 months you will have walked 250 miles, and if you have stuck with the challenge and a healthy eating program for that 5 months, you will see wonderful changes in your health, fitness, and size!
Some people will finish well before the target date and will go for more or another 250 miles, but others will go at a slower pace, and new members may join along the way, so each member is welcome to set her/his own personal goal and target date. The new group challenge which started April 1, 2024, is "250 Miles by Sept. 1, 2024."

Good Evening, Challengers
Yesterday Sun I did all 6 of my main HHs, ate in my 💚 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 0 snack, used 21 pts. We walked 2.2 mi before breakfast.
My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) yesterday: - Do at least 10 mins of PT/ST: N - Avoid salted snacks: 💚 - No “seconds” with snack: 💚 - No eating out of a container: 💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚 - Evening: “Snack on Inspo”; Read prayers, quotes, whys and goals: 💚 - FFFE (Food-Free Fasting Evenings): 💚 - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚
DH’s childhood friend Davy who recently had the strokes is back in hospital with seizures. 🙏
Sat I talked with the ex of my friend Nancy who I had discovered had died in Feb. I knew they had remained friends after the divorce 34 yrs ago. We caught up from the last 30 yrs or so with a long phone chat 🤣. He said she “didn’t take care of herself,” had emphysema, and got Covid. He has congestive heart failure, but is much more health conscious re food, meds, etc. He says he has lost about 100 lbs since I last saw him, probably in 1980, but is still overweight, and he and his wife eat a “plant forward” diet.
KELLY - GJ with the 6.04 mi Fri-Sun. Enjoy your Wed - Fri time off!
Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.

Good Morning, Challengers
Yesterday Tues I did 5/6 of my main HHs, ate in my 💚 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 0 snack, used 17 pts. No exercise.
Yesterday we didn’t get back from the trip to the valley and to town until afternoon, had lunch and then I had work. It’s getting hotter, so lunch and dinner were indoors, but we could sit out on the deck after dinner. It was still in the high 80’s but comfortable. The low temp in the am is 51, and the high 94. We’re officially in “Excessive Heat Warning,” but the mornings are nice. Since our humidity is only around 20% the heat doesn’t feel that bad to me. Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.

Good Morning, Challengers - so grateful for Liberty 🗽 and what she stands for! Yesterday Wed I did all 6 of my main HHs, ate in my 💚 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 0 snack, used 19 pts. We walked 2.2 mi before breakfast. My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) yesterday: - Do at least 10 mins of PT/ST: N - Avoid salted snacks: 💚 - No “seconds” with snack: 💚 - No eating out of a container: 💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚 - Evening: “Snack on Inspo”; Read prayers, quotes, whys and goals: 💚 - FFFE (Food-Free Fasting Evenings): 💚 - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚 Yesterday’s high was 99.5 and this am temp was 56. So it goes. We get breakfast out on the deck, and then after dinner. It was still in the high 80’s but pleasant enough. Yesterday the timber guys took down the first really tall tree and DH got a video of it. I captured some stills from the video. KELLY - GFY with the 5.26 mi Tues-Wed. Enjoy your time with family today! Yes, I’m not a fan of humidity, but like many things, I can tolerate it better than DH can. The low humidity is a blessing in many ways, but, wildfire danger….. There are many in process now in this part of CA, but none too close. The timber guy’s helper lost his home near us in 2016, and his cousin just lost his home in Oroville CA, both in wildfires 😧. Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other. Cait

Happy Independence Day!
CAIT -- thanks for the July start. Good work with your HHs and WI. I agree with you about high humidity; sometimes here it feels like we're living in a sauna! I imagine it's a little bittersweet watching those trees come down, but they would just be tinder for a wildfire, wouldn't they?
KELLY -- happy loooonnnnngggg weekend! Have fun celebrating and swimming!
I need to catch up! It seems when I think about posting I'm away from the computer, but when I'm at the computer I don't think about posting. Sheesh!
Sunday & Tuesday: water class & stretching Monday & Wednesday: rehab, bands, stretching Today: BIKE RIDE! It was my first ride since before my 2nd heart cath (hill disaster), and it felt great! I rode 60 minutes and got my heart rate up, and I didn't have to stop going up the hill on the way home (not "disaster hill," but another. The only way back to our home is uphill, LOL!). Anyway, I'm counting 3 miles for that. Stretching, too.

Good Morning, Challengers
Yesterday Thurs I did 4/6 of my main HHs, ate in my 💚 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 1 snack, used 19 pts. We walked 2.2 mi before breakfast.

Yesterday’s high was 104.4 and this am temp was 59. We sat outside after dinner. Even though the temp was in the 90’s, it was pretty pleasant with our fans on. No fireworks out here in the forest, thank God. This am’s breakfast on the deck is accompanied by a symphony of chain saw and chipper, with some grasshopper songs in the spaces.
CAROL - GFY with the water class, stretching, bands, rehab, and BIKING! Yay for the uphill success 👏❤️. Yes the burned trees are a fire danger, but the immediate concern is that many are falling distance from the cabin.
Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.

TGIFRIDAY!
We survived another 4th; Lincoln supposedly has limited types of fireworks and times they can be set off, but it doesn't seem to hinder anyone. I especially feel sorry for the pets, dogs in particular, but even our cat cowers a little. It's interesting that the birds take cover in the afternoon and don't show up until the morning of the 5th. Luckily we had quite a bit of rain (about 5") during the days prior, so the fire danger was lessened.
Rehab was canceled today, so I took myself to the pool for a workout and stretch.
Have a good weekend, everyone!

Yesterday’s high temp was 108 and this am temp was 59. He and the timber guys worked outdoors in the am. No outside enjoyment from noonish on. Our indoor office space where I work is downstairs and comfortable. DH is fussing about the heat, and the A/C is struggling.
CAROL - GFY hitting the pool for a fill-in WO and stretching. Yes fireworks, except maybe sparklers, are ok by me only in a professionally conducted situation. Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.

I achieved a new lifetime goal 177. But I am under that. For the first time in along time I do not have to pay as long as I go once a month to the Weight Water meetings that are at Hy Ver grocery store on the upper floor in 2 locations in Madison Wisconsin. I weighed I the 160s today. I amok diet soda final. Putting propel non sugar packats that go in water bottle. That allows me to drink water much more easily. I like that goal For instance I gained 5 pounds after July 4 potluck. I am doing t least 30 minutes of Leslie Sansone that shows on my phone 2 miles about or almost if I do the 4 th mile. I am starting to lead a group of walkers in the community room 3 times a week of Leslie Sansone.

Good Morning, Challengers Yesterday Sat I did 4/6 of my main HHs, ate in my 💚 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 1 snack, used 25 pts. We walked 2.1 mi before breakfast. My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) yesterday: - Do at least 10 mins of PT/ST: N - Avoid salted snacks: 💚 - No “seconds” with snack: 💚 - No eating out of a container: 💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚 - Evening: “Snack on Inspo”; Read prayers, quotes, whys and goals: 💚 - FFFE (Food-Free Fasting Evenings): N - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚 Yesterday’s high temp was 110 and this am it was 63 out. We were able to sit out on the deck until 11-11:30. We came in when it was in mid 90’s. The indoor temp got up to 89 in the evening, then dropped to 86, but it was cooler in the bedroom and we opened all the upstairs windows and we slept well. This am the indoor temp was only down to 80, but we got the doors open and fans on and got it down to 76. Now the temps are on the way up again. Yesterday I attended my weekly WW virtual workshop. The weekly topic was “How to actually achieve your goals.” It’s about the “Goal-Gradient Effect” - setting much smaller goals along a path toward the high goal, giving you both confidence and momentum. “Breaking down goals into smaller steps not only helps you build confidence that you can do what you set out to—it also builds momentum to push you forward so you keep going.” So, lower the bar, make the goal really easy to do! www.weightwatchers.com/us/m/cms/achieve-your-goalsThis am on our walk we saw a large bear across the river! It ran off before we got a pic. Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other. Cait

Good Morning!!
I had a nice long weekend, but it was very hot and humid.
The pool was definitely refreshing at the 4th of July picnic.
Friday I actually took a day of rest. Thursday I walked 2.34 mile, Saturday 1.25, and Sunday 1.58. Just too hot the humidity bothers my sinuses.
Friday we ran some errands and then went to our monthly Church home group.
Saturday's time with family and then fireworks at night.
Yesterday, we went to Church, lunch at Hoss's with friends from Church, ride to his daughter's to pick up his pouch with some diabetic supplies he had left behind Saturday night. Also, managed to get some rest.
Cait: Good job on your overall good days. Glad you are enjoying your deck. Looks like the tree removal is coming along.
Carol: Good job on your workout this week. When the fireworks were going off over the lake some ducks were flying away from them.
Amy: Congrats on your weight loss. Glad you are enjoying your Leslie Sansone workouts and getting a chance to lead a group.
Waving to all!! Happy Walking!

Monday, Monday!
KELLY -- Sorry about your sinus issue; I know how you like to walk, particularly outdoors! Sounds like you had a nice mix of family/walking/resting time over the weekend.
AMY -- Good to hear from you! Have fun leading the walking group. Remember to say, "Walk, walk, walk. Water, water, water!"
CAIT -- Nice work on your HHs, as usual! I hope the temps become more comfortable for you soon. Were you surprised to see the bear, or do you see them frequently?
I went to water class yesterday and rehab this morning. He added some weights after my cardio, so I'm happy about that.
