Oops - yesterday Sun I DID do 16 mins of PT exercises before dinner 🥳. I updated my log and realized I hadn’t done any PT in the previous two weeks. I was determined not to let it go 3 weeks. - Do at least 10 mins of PT/ST: 💚
KELLY - GFY with the 5 mi WATP over the weekend. Wow I had forgotten about the Graves disease. My ex has had that. Hope your PCP will have a good plan.
CAROL - Another Wow - I guess it really is beastly out there. Well it sounds like you learned a very important lesson. Maybe you were pushing yourself too hard given the temps. Did you have symptoms of dehydration? Glad you decided to take a day of rest.

Good Morning!!
I added a 2 mile WATP, too hot for outdoor walks. I miss my morning outdoor walks.
I had a conversation with my PCP and she started me on a beta-blocker to slow the heart rate down. Urgent referral to endocrinology to get started on treatment for the Graves.
Work today and then I have the next 2 days off. Thursday is the 6 year anniversary of Ricky's death.
Carol: I won't wag my finger as it seems you earned your lesson. Nothing wrong with a DOR. The heat can be so hard on a body.
Cait: Awesome job on your HHs and miles. Glad you could enjoy eating outside.
Waving to all!! Happy Walking!!

DH’s childhood friend Davy who had the strokes is home and his wife sent pics of him mowing on their riding mower.
Now our friends here are having serious problems. The husband’s congestive heart failure is worse and affecting his mental status and the wife got overwhelmed with the caregiving, etc., and has had a breakdown. She’s been living without a thyroid, on meds, for years, but something caused it to go out of whack. Their sons are trying to deal with things but it’s very difficult.
KELLY - GFY with the 2 mi WATP Mon. Hope the beta blocker calms down the HR. That racing HR sounds very uncomfortable and unsettling. So glad you got the endocrinology referral quickly. I hope your 2 days off went well for you. {{hugs}} for today’s memories of Ricky 🙏.
Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.

Good Morning!!
I added 6.72 miles Tue-Thur( Tues WATP and the rest outdoor walks)
I enjoyed my 2 days off. Yesterday was 6 years since Ricky passed. It was pretty laid back day. Did take the DH to an appt.
I will see the endocrinologist for an appointment next Wednesday. Still feeling rather poorly but at least my heart rate is back to normal.
Cait: Good job on your good days and your miles.
Great news about DH's childhood friend being able to use the riding mower. Sorry about your friends. The stress most likely threw her thyroid off.
Waving to all!! Happy Walking!!

TGIFRIDAY! CAIT -- I'm glad you're recommitting to your PT. Inquiring minds had noticed... I'm very sorry about your friends; I wonder if it is safe for them to live alone? Such a difficult time! But how nice DH's friend is back on the mower! You asked about my dehydration symptoms. Well, I just felt weak and out of sorts, and my face was literally beet red, even though I was wearing a visor and kept my back to the sun. There isn't a waterfountain in the outside pool area (go figure), and the water fountain in the locker room is pretty weak. After I showered I got a little sip of water from the tap and wobbled out to my car, where I had a water bottle waiting (this is my habit, for which I got a talking to at rehab the next day, when I also had my water out in the car). Anyway, Sunday I also had some popcorn in the car, so I had a little snack. Wednesday and today I took my water in with me to rehab and got drinks between the exercises. I just have never been one to carry a water bottle with me everywhere, but I guess I need to rethink this! The rehab guy said to pre-hydrate about 4 hours (!) before exercising on a hot, hot day. KELLY -- {{{Hugs}}} for the anniversary of Ricky's passing. I hope you spent the day remembering the good times. Good job with all the walking -- I know you like to walk outdoors when you can. MWF, rehab, and I stopped at the gym today to do some water walking and stretching. 160/250 miles 69/75 stretching Stretching: 2018:141; 2019:192; 2020:182; 2021:190; 2022:195; 2023:191 Jan:19; Feb:13; Mar:19; Apr:19; May:21; June:17; July: 9/31

Good Evening, Dimers
Yesterday I did 4/6 of my main HHs, ate in my 💚 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 1 snack, used 28 pts. We walked 2.2 mi before breakfast.
My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) for both days: - Do at least 10 mins of PT/ST: N - Avoid salted snacks: 💚 - No “seconds” with snack: N - No eating out of a container: 💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚 - Evening: “Snack on Inspo”; Read prayers, quotes, whys and goals: 💚 - FFFE (Food-Free Fasting Evenings): N - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚
CAROL - GJ with the rehab MWF & water walking and stretching Fri. Interesting about how the dehydration symptoms developed. I don’t think I’d ever have that problem - I drink 24 oz early in the day and another 24 oz and more the rest of the day, plus coffee and tea. My friends’ son is with them for now but I don’t know how long he can stay. They had a part time caregiver but I guess that didn’t go well. KELLY - GFY with the 6.72 mi Tues-Thurs. Sorry you’re still not feeling well. Hope this gets on the mend soon. We visited our friends yesterday. She seemed very zombie-ish. I’m assuming they’re giving her a lot of meds to stop the psychotic symptoms.
Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.

SUNDAY!
CAIT -- Good job on your HHs. About that PT/ST, though.... So glad you had beautiful weather to be outside so much! We've had a few days' respite from the horrible heat and have enjoyed being out every chance we get. My bookgroup (7 of us this month) set a new record on our terrace; no one left until almost 10:30! I had to turn on the party lights, it was such a beautiful night! We were discussing *The Long March Home,* co-authored by a Lincoln woman (Tosca Lee). It's about the Bataan Death March, so we learned a great deal about that part of WWII. I would recommend it (it goes back & forth between the characters' lives growing up and in The Philippines, so there is some relief).
Both Fred and I felt a little out of sorts this week, probably due to all of our vaccines for our trip. We are halfway through our Typhoid oral vaccines, so I'm sure we'll feel better by the end of the week.
I went to water class and stretched in the pool this afternoon, and it felt great! Yes, I took a water bottle with me!

Good Morning!!
Thanks for the Congrats.
I added 5.12 miles Fri-Sunday.
Relaxed a good bit over the weekend. Enjoyed reading and watching some Christmas movies.
Cait: Good job on your overall good days with your HHs and adding your miles. Glad you were able to enjoy time on your patio.
Carol: Good job on your water class and stretching. Sorry the vaccines caused you to feel out of sorts. So much better than the alternative.

Another beautiful day. DH sat outside with me after our breakfast walk 😍. Usually he does his computer games.
DD2 has Covid - she had to go to Seattle for work and picked it up somewhere along the way. She was going to visit some cousins up there, too, but began feeling “not right” and canceled.

MONDAY, MONDAY!
CAIT -- Woo Hoo for the PT/ST and making all your HHs! Sorry about your DD; that darn Covid seems to be making the rounds AGAIN!
KELLY -- glad you had a relaxing weekend. WTG getting your walks in, too!
I went to rehab this morning, so I'm counting 2 miles for that. I had an appointment with my PCP this afternoon and my blood pressure was low! This is verrrrrrryyyyyy unusual for me, so she had me take it at home this evening before my evening pills, and I adjusted (tried to) one of the meds. I will report back to her tomorrow. Anyway, I'm still feeling futzy, probably because of the vaccines, so I'm going to skip lap swim tomorrow. I'll just take myself to the pool and do a little "whatever feels good" workout and stretching.
Have a good week, everyone!

Good Morning!!
I added a 4 mile WATP yesterday.
We got a good bit rain yesterday, it was much needed.
Cait: Good job on your HHs, PT, and miles. Bummer for DD2 having COVID. It does seem to be going around again.
Carol: Good job on your rehab workout. I wonder if the vaccines caused the lower BP. Definitely keep an eye on it as it can cause you to be dizzy. Sure do not want a fall.
