We are walkers, joggers, bicyclists, and some do other exercise. We set goals and keep track by miles. You can set your goal for any amount, count your miles any way you wish. The goal is consistency with exercise.
We started Jan. 20, 2003 on the WW Challenge Central Board as "250 Miles by June 1" & we've done 51 five-month walking challenges, including the one we finished April 1, 2024. You can find us on wwmessageboard.freeforums.net at wwmessageboard.freeforums.net/board/12/challenges
The group challenge is to average about 2 miles a day, 13 miles a week, or 50 miles a month; if you do it, in 5 months you will have walked 250 miles, and if you have stuck with the challenge and a healthy eating program for that 5 months, you will see wonderful changes in your health, fitness, and size!
Some people will finish well before the target date and will go for more or another 250 miles, but others will go at a slower pace, and new members may join along the way, so each member is welcome to set her/his own personal goal and target date. The new group challenge which started April 1, 2024, is "250 Miles by Sept. 1, 2024."

Thanks for the month’s start, KELLY!
Good Morning, Challengers
On Tues I did all 6 of my main HHs, ate in my 💚 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 0 snack, used 18 pts. We walked 2.2 mi before breakfast. I did 17 mins of PT exercises before dinner 🥳.
Yesterday Wed I did 2/6 of my main HHs, ate in my 🛑 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 1 snack, used 58 pts. We walked 2.2 mi before breakfast.
My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) for both days: - Do at least 10 mins of PT/ST: 💚N - Avoid salted snacks: 💚N - No “seconds” with snack: 💚N - No eating out of a container: 💚💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚N - Evening: “Snack on Inspo”; Read prayers, quotes, whys and goals: 💚N - FFFE (Food-Free Fasting Evenings): 💚N - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚💚
Yesterday I went to the WW studio for my end of month weigh-in. My weight was 147.8, up .9 lbs from end of June, but still in a healthy range.
Last night I overate snacks, but at least I tracked it all as I ate, and I stopped at the top of my 🛑 zone and did JGTB I got too cocky about my HHs and took for granted I could just cruise with FFFE. I didn’t do my regular daily spiritual and 12 step reading, didn’t read my “Snack on Inspo.” These are essential and protective for me. Also a combo of work stress and post-WI letdown, I think. Last night I just wanted to eat and read my book, until the final JGTB bell, just before 11 pm.
I spoke briefly by phone with my friend in the hospital on Tues and also with her sons. She’s getting better. She doesn’t remember anything about the last several weeks. I think that’s a blessing. But she also seemed a bit manic. Maybe just part of the process of stabilizing her thyroid.
DH found my 1961 journal. Wow! I wrote about turning 13 (“Finally!” 😆) and about meeting my now longest-known friend. Also about how I hated my school (8th grade) and I was so excited to be accepted to my 1st HS, a Catholic girls’ school.
Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.

THURSDAY!
Thanks for the August start, KELLY! Good job on your WATP; such a nice alternative when the weather isn't cooperating.
CAIT -- too funny re: your 8th grade journal! I tried to keep a diary a couple of different times, but I never stuck with it. Thank goodness! I bought a great-niece a locking journal for her birthday, since she has two younger sisters. Haha! I have no idea if she'll use it, though. You'll work your way out of your HH slump -- you always do!
Our power went out during a big, bad windstorm yesterday afternoon, about 5:15, and didn't come back on until 9:30. At least it came back on! There are lots of downed trees and big limbs, but we had pretty minimal damage, thank goodness.
Today I went for a hot, sticky walk, and I stretched. I walked 1.99 miles but of course I'm counting it as 2!
178/250 miles 75/75 stretching -- goal met! Stretching: 2018:141; 2019:192; 2020:182; 2021:190; 2022:195; 2023:191 Jan:19; Feb:13; Mar:19; Apr:19; May:21; June:17; July:14; Aug: 1/30

Good Morning, Challengers Yesterday Fri I did all 6 of my main HHs, ate in my 💚 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 0 snack, used 26 pts. We walked 2.2 mi before breakfast. My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) for yesterday: - Do at least 10 mins of PT/ST: N - Avoid salted snacks: 💚 - No “seconds” with snack: 💚 - No eating out of a container: 💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚 - Evening: “Snack on Inspo”; Read prayers, quotes, whys and goals: 💚 - FFFE (Food-Free Fasting Evenings): 💚 - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚 Yesterday after a.m. work I enjoyed lunch out with a few of my 1st HS classmates and dinner at home with our friends that I work with. One classmate is recovering from cancer that started in her gums and went into her jaw - she’s had a yr of surgeries and treatment but is still traveling and getting out. This on top of atrial fibrillation and pulmonary fibrosis. Recently she became able to eat soft foods. She and her DH have a boat and are doing “The Great Loop.” Over the past week DH got some of the newly framed pieces on the walls so it was looking more homey here. Dinner took a lot of prep work for DH. I picked up some dips and red potatoes on my way home, and did my prep part - made guacamole, cut veggie plate, and fresh fruit salad. We had a really nice relaxing evening. This am I attended my weekly virtual WW workshop: “How to bridge the gap between want-to and will-do.” Spoiler alert - plan smaller and more specific steps. Here are ways to trouble-shoot the process: www.weightwatchers.com/us/m/cms/bridge-gap-between-want-and-will-doBe well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other. Cait

Good Morning, Challengers Yesterday Sat I did 3/6 of my main HHs, ate above my 🛑 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 0 snack, used 66 pts. We walked 2.7 mi after breakfast, went to the Farmers Market and to get our lunch takeout. I did 13 mins of PT exercises before dinner 🥳. My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) for yesterday: - Do at least 10 mins of PT/ST: 💚 - Avoid salted snacks: N - No “seconds” with snack: N - No eating out of a container: 💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚 - Evening: “Snack on Inspo”; Read prayers, quotes, whys and goals: N - FFFE (Food-Free Fasting Evenings): N - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚 DH was having an evening snack and I gave in to the urge and ate some of the leftover appetizer and dessert foods from our Friday dinner. But at least I stopped, didn’t start reading, didn’t keep eating, and did JGTB. My friend was released from the hospital after 9 nights. Her sons got an Air BNB by the beach to give her a relaxing transition and more time to stabilize her thyroid and her sleep. She would have been released much sooner but Tues night a nurse mistakenly gave her an antipsychotic med and that threw her into a tailspin. The “metabolic encephalopathy” dx was shocking in the sudden onset of scary symptoms, especially the mental distortion, and I read about the potential for brain damage. But from what I read online, I thought it was a hopeful diagnosis because it is reversible if they can successfully identify and treat the underlying physical organ dysfunction causing the imbalance. Don’t yet know if we can expect a return to her old “normal” self and abilities. I found this interesting article on “foot strength” exercises I thought I’d share. It’s a “gift article,” so all should be able to see it. “A 12-Minute Workout to Build Foot Strength”www.nytimes.com/2024/07/18/well/move/foot-workout-exercises.html?unlocked_article_code=1.AU4.YX7f.F0VIza3dsl4l&smid=url-shareBe well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other. Good Morning, Challengers
Yesterday Sun I did all 6 of my main HHs, ate in my 💚 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 0 snack, used 24 pts. We walked 3.5 mi for our breakfast. I did 15 mins of PT exercises, most before dinner and a little before bed 🥳.
My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) for yesterday: - Do at least 10 mins of PT/ST: 💚 - Avoid salted snacks: 💚 - No “seconds” with snack: 💚 - No eating out of a container: 💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚 - Evening: “Snack on Inspo”; Read prayers, quotes, whys and goals: 💚 - FFFE (Food-Free Fasting Evenings): 💚 - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚
I sat out in the patio and talked with my bro and SIL for a while after our breakfast walk. We’ve been having lunch and dinner outside on the weekends 😍. DH doesn’t like it out there as much as he likes being out on the deck up north - here it’s a little less convenient, and we have a patio umbrella instead of a roof. Here we’re also under a tree, which I love, but it drops leaves sometimes….🤷🏻♀️.
Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.
