Good Morning!!
Yesterday I did a 2 mile WATP. The PA that I work with at work is pregnant. She is going to have a boy in February.
Carol: Good job with rehab and stretching.
Cait: Awesome job on your 5/7 days of PT/ST, 4 miles, and your HHs. Glad your family are on the mend. Hope your brother does well with the Paxlovid and does not have any of the nasty side effects. COVID is definitely on the rise.
Waving to all!! Happy Walking!!

It's TUESDAY!
CAIT -- Oh, you're doing so well with your PT/ST! WTG! I know you enjoyed your day on the patio, too. You must not have many flying insects to bother or bite you. We don't either (we think our fish keep the mosquito larvae in check), but I'm hearing that mosquito-borne diseases are on the rise.
KELLY -- Good job with your consistent WATP! I hope your weather eases up soon.
I forgot to mention that one of our neighbors experienced "transient global amnesia" on Saturday, which we had never heard of! She was volunteering at a shelter when she started saying, "Where am I? How did I get here?" Luckily a nurse was also volunteering and checked her quickly for stroke (no), called her husband, and then an ambulance. She recovered that afternoon in the hospital and even came to the block party! Weird! Of course I googled it and learned: it's not uncommon; the main treatment is "reassurance"; it almost never happens twice. I am not kidding when I say I learn something new every single day!
It's "only" 90 today, but it's pretty muggy. I swam laps and was pleased to complete my 1000 yards. I stretched in the pool, too.
216/250 miles 86/75 stretching -- goal met! Stretching: 2018:141; 2019:192; 2020:182; 2021:190; 2022:195; 2023:191 Jan:19; Feb:13; Mar:19; Apr:19; May:21; June:17; July:14; Aug: 12/30

Good Morning!!
I added 3.09 miles Tues-Wed.
My ex is still in the hospital from his quadruple bypass. My son contacted me yesterday to let me know he was in the area as his grandmother has been placed on hospice. He will take that loss hard when it happens.
One of my friends from childhood reached out yesterday to let me know her husband had surgery to remove a blood clot from his lung.
I work today and then have off til Tuesday.
Cait: Great job on your HHs and getting in your PT/ST.
Carol: Good job on your swimming and stretching. It was a hot one.

Thursday! CAIT -- you had another great day with your HHs, including your PT/ST. Soon it will become a habit! KELLY -- Good work, as per usual, with your walking! I'm sorry about your former MIL and your ex. This is a tough time for your son, for sure. Have a great long weekend; I think we're due for a break in the weather. Fingers crossed! Today I'm taking a DOR. DH and I are going to an outlet mall to see about luggage for our trip, since we can't have any hard sides or wheels. I'm driving myself nuts looking online, so we decided to bite the bullet and head to the outlet mall. We both hate to shop, so we are not looking forward to this! Yesterday was rehab. As I was doing my weights, a lady walked by and said, "Girl, you are working it! The back of your shirt is soaking wet." Um, ok, thanks a lot. I appreciate those helpful comments -- NOT! Only 7 more sessions, though. 218/250 miles 86/75 stretching -- goal met! Stretching: 2018:141; 2019:192; 2020:182; 2021:190; 2022:195; 2023:191 Jan:19; Feb:13; Mar:19; Apr:19; May:21; June:17; July:14; Aug: 12/30

Yesterday mid morning I had my annual vision checkup. Cataracts havenโt increased and my glasses prescription is still good ๐ค. My pupils were dilated so I struggled through errands. It gradually wore off through the afternoon. I attended my 1st HS class zoom get together - only 4 of us this time but itโs always nice.

TGIFRIDAY!
CAIT -- I hear you about the eye dilation! When I had my annual exam a few weeks ago, the tech used the "extra strong" (and extra stingy!) drops, and I couldn't see well for hours! Good job with your HHs, as usual.
I went to rehab this morning and then stopped at the pool to stretch. I was the only one in the outdoor pool, and it was great!
Have a good weekend, everyone!

Good Afternoon, Challengers Yesterday Fri I did all 6 of my main HHs, ate in my ๐ zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 0 snack, used 23 pts. We walked 2.2 mi before breakfast. I did 14 mins of PT/ST before dinner ๐ฅณ. My โKISSโ HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) for yesterday: - Do at least 10 mins of PT/ST: ๐ - Avoid salted snacks: ๐ - No โsecondsโ with snack: ๐ - No eating out of a container: ๐ - Limit phone after 9 pm: ๐ - Evening: โSnack on Inspoโ; Read prayers, quotes, whys and goals: N - FFFE (Food-Free Fasting Evenings): ๐ - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: ๐ Yesterday I felt like I was still playing catch-up with my โto-doโs.โ I did make progress, one thing at a time. This am I attended my weekly WW virtual workshop. Itโs now labeled a โmenopauseโ community focus but itโs the same coach and she does go over the weekly technique topic. This week it was โHow to turn your mini wins into lasting inspo.โ www.weightwatchers.com/us/m/cms/turn-mini-wins-into-lasting-inspo I liked the focus on recognizing ourselves for our improvements in behavior, every little step we make forward in meeting or making progress toward our action goals. Itโs so easy to just take it for granted because โI should be doing that anyway,โ or think โWell I should be โdoneโ with this.โ The coach said she texts her DDs to tell them how proud she is of them, for what theyโve done and become, yet she never praises herself that way. Good point! After the meeting I went to the WW studio for my end of month WI - my weight was 149.4, up 1.6 lbs from end of July, but still in a healthy range. Iโm thinking it was those overeating days at the beginning of Aug. Also I have swelling in my knee due to arthritis and I can feel that Iโm holding fluid in there and in the leg. But a good thing that Iโve noticed is bicep muscles starting to develop thanks to doing my ST with hand weights! There are probably some other upper body muscles building up volume. Thatโs an OK kind of weight to add. Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other. Cait
