Whoa! You definitely have a season ahead of you, DotRen!
That creamer didn't sound good. Sometimes it's better to take it straight.
My day was an IF until dinner, then pork w/mushrooms & vegetables... and a glass of wine. whoops.

Quick hello! I made a roast in the crockpot yesterday with the salad peppers and ranch powder, turned out pretty good. Mississippi roast I think? Today I'm going to toss some chicken legs in the crock and finish them with some G Hughes bbq sauce and make coleslaw to go with it.
I think I have about 3 days of the Kitu creamer left lol. I have 2 more cartons -vanilla and hazelnut. Maybe the vanilla will be better. It can't have much MCT in it with 50 calories for 3 tablespoons. Not a bad thing since MCT can really make me nausious.

I checked my ketones the past few days and I'm consistently between 1.3 and 1.9 -so "in" ketosis. I really didn't need the meter to tell me that because I have zero appetite.
I disagree with a new mentality on the facebook pages that "if you're not hungry, don't eat" because they're really encouraging this, even when people say they're eating under 500 calories a day consistently. A ketogenic plan is supposed to be healthy, not a starve yourself thin plan.
I do think consistency is key though. I have some days where I struggle to get 600 calories, but I also know that 2-3 days of that in a row really saps my energy. I have plenty of fat on my body to burn, but that's not the same as getting enough protein and nutrients. So many people on fb are looking at the loss only (OMG I didn't lose for 1 day I'm stalled!) and not the health benefits.
Now they're talking about chewing food and spitting it out so "it doesn't count". A: that's an eating disorder and B: yes, it counts, your blood sugar responds the minute your saliva hits it.
But explain that and they get really nasty. ugh.

Good morning! Happy to say I made the 3 day weekend cheat free lol Ok my review of Susalia corn and nopales tortillasThey're 3g net carbs for 2 tortillas. They're thicker than standard corn tortillas, and have a bit of a fruit leather texture, kind of tough and chewy. They're not bad, just different. I have not tried to fry them so I'm going off of my experience: wrapped in a damp paper towel and microwave steamed: makes them softer but plays up the fruit leather texture microwaved for 45 seconds, flip and go another 30 seconds makes a nice, hard and crispy tostada base Cut into wedges and microwaved until crisp makes a nice sturdy chip All the reviews I've seen suggest pan frying them for tacos as the best method. I'd recommend them if you're really missing corn tortillas or chips.

DebDoesWW, people responding. I feel like it's a gateway to an eating disorder. Not to mention, I'd rather just have 1-2 bites and not torment myself lol.

Ah, the good old "chew and spit" diet... My how the more EDs change, the more they stay the same. Good job on being in ketosis, DotRen, and being cheat free! What's that like? (ugh @ me) I'm back to Keto after DH was on staycation last week and kept inviting me to join him for lunches and dinners out. Last night was my last straw. (-- plus, he's out of town now so I won't be tempted anymore. ) Hi Deb!

Just to be up-front: I plan on going way off keto this weekend lol. DH and I have plans, and it's our 32nd anniversary today, so I'm going to enjoy my meals out and not worry about it. Monday I'm planning on a very strict carnivore-ish (just ground beef, ghee and cucumbers to break up the monotony) for 3-4 days to get back into ketosis and past the symptoms quickly I was going to do an "egg fast" but I just don't like eggs that much lol. The beef/ghee/cucumber is also like an elimination and anti-inflammatory diet, so it will help get rid of the water retention faster as well. I'll probably have black coffee and tea as well.

Where did you get that recovery plan from, DotRen? I'd like to have something on hand, once in awhile.
I watched Dr Berg's latest video where he talks about going no carb and all I thought about was why not toss some broccoli or kale into it? I love the idea of a good tenderloin, but the nutrition seeking part of my brain has been trained to want a vegetable too.

It's one that Dr Berry sort of mentions since he's almost pure carnivore. One of his "hacks" to get back into ketosis quickly and to (basically) do a detox type plan after a cheat He doesn't promote it (that I've seen) as a go-to all the time if you're keto and not carnivore, but on those occasions when you really get off track. I'm the same, I love my veggies and I don't get rid of them completely.

It's JUNE! Ok so tomorrow I was planning on doing 3 days of a beef/ghee/cucumber limited diet but I'm debating that. I checked with my keto-mojo and I'm still reading 1.3 -so in ketosis. I have not jumped completely off the ship with my eating. A few tortilla chips, a burger and fries 3 days ago, but over all I've been sticking to plan pretty much. I might do the limited diet for lunches and have a regular (protein, 1-2 veggies) for dinner and just keep it under 20g for a few days. I seem to do well with around 30g net, so limiting it to "real" foods and avoiding gluten and dairy might do just as well. Will see

Ok had lunch which was 4oz 73/27 ground beef (I had to drain it, too much fat for me lol) and 2tsp Ghee. I'm completely full so I may have cucumber later, or not.
I had 2 cups of iced coffee, black, for breakfast and I was really hungry while I was browning the beef, but just a few bites really satiated me. I am drinking an iced Passion tea (hibiscus blend) unsweetened as well, then water the rest of the day.

Hi everyone.
I'm in my 5th full week on atkins and it's going well. We had a four-day trip away and I managed to stay within my macros except for one dinner out - not kicking myself over that. I'm kind of into my rhythm, my pantry is stocked with what I need, and I'm not having cravings - except I miss having pretzels at night and that's really about the salt.
I didn't weigh before I started and haven't weighed since but I'm fitting into last summer's tops and jackets and that's a start. My bottom half always takes longer to shrink!
