Just letting all know surgery went well. Cancer was more widespread than thought.
Have experienced no pain whatsoever except a burning when I teared up earlier this morning --- and it didn't last long.
Before the surgery they were saying it would be extremely painful and I was thinking childbirth through the eye socket. I am thankful no pa8n.
Back to MDA tomorrow then to my home Thursday.
Thanks for all the prayers.

I am using iTrackBites for counting carbs on their new keto option. . I love it. It let's you.choose a secondary metric to watch so you can see your cals, fat, and protein

Hi!
DotRen, it does seem a bit quiet around here! I thought I'd join in. Just started Atkins a few weeks ago. I did it many moons ago and lost nicely but I was much younger and once I stopped I gained rapidly. I also lost 80 lbs on WW but that was the original Points and none of the later ones worked for me. So I'm trying low carb again since it comes more naturally to me. It's hard to believe how much more acceptance (public and scientific) there is of low carb than when I was doing it 20 years ago and Atkins was considered a fringe, dangerous diet. It's not even as strict as keto!
bee, it sounds like you've had a tough time but I'm glad the surgery went well and having little or no pain is a true blessing. I hope the healing process goes well.
jeanie, I find that using the right tracker is a key in any program that requires tracking/journaling, so it's good you found one you like. I'm not crazy about the official Atkins tracker because it has a pretty limited database of foods; but for the foods it has, it gives carbs, calories, protein, fat, etc. because you're also supposed to stay in certain ranges for those too.
So I'm in my third week but staying at induction-level macro ranges while adding in nuts and berries. To be honest I already added those in last week. :-) Not going to kill myself doing this as long as I stay within my macros which I have.

Hi Jeanie and Chris. Bee, I'm glad you're not having too much pain. I admit I laughed about your childbirth through the eye socket comment, funny lady. How widespread is it? Still praying over here!

They claim it has not invaded anywhere else. That's amazing news. I wish there was a option instead of just "like", but that's such good news.

Lunch - Homemade (air fryer) chicken wings, green salad with spinach, oil & vinegar dressing, feta cheese Dinner - Pork chop, leftover cauliflower with cheese, tomato and cucumber salad w/ o&v dressing. Snacks - Aldi Endulgence choc coconut bar, marcona almonds, dill pickles.
Everyone have a great day!

Good news, Bee! I also wish there was a button. B: egg, bacon and asparagus L: Same as yesterday, IF or snacking on walnuts D: Finishing the massive bone broth soup I made last night. Probably add more sautéed kale and some coconut milk to it.

Saw doc and all looks good.
Really thought it would look like something from a Boris Karloff's experiment.
I was pleasantly surprised. Doc was pleased with how it all looks. Got to go back in 2 weeks.
Thanks for all prayers.

Good morning B: coffee w/1T heavy cream L: not sure, if I'm hungry then maybe deli ham, cheese and olives D: tuscan garlic chicken and sliced cucumbers in vinegar and olive oil I picked that recipe because it's lower in calories than a lot of the other low-carb/keto ones that use 1-2 cups of cream. I may add some mushrooms to it, too. Make sure you browse that site, too, loads of easy recipes

That looks good, DotRen! I wonder how it would be with coconut milk instead of heavy cream? Thanks for yet another keto recipe site to add to my future plans to make more of a variety of keto meals. In the meantime, it's Groundhog Day for me, food wise: B: Coffee w/collagen, MCT L: IF/Walnuts - Maybe a Thai chicken salad D: If it were just me, I'd make another bone broth soup and load it up. Maybe I will, anyway. DH is saying he likes eating Keto. As long as he still gets his breads and cereal. Have a great day, everyone!

Amy I've always liked soup any time of year, but DH is not a soup eater any time of year lol. Mine is getting used to having a carby side just 1-2 times a week for him and son, so that helps me because I'm not having to make or taste to make sure they're right every day lol. I usually have 2 veggies, or I'll do a veggie and salad the rest of the week and they're both not complaining too much.
