SANDY sounds like you're getting done what needs to be done, step by step. Do you have surviving siblings (that are your mom's direct relations at any rate?) and if so how many grandkids does she have? I know everyone is different and I get it both ways, but grandkids or not, I'm leaving my estate to be equally divided between my kids. They can decide what to do w/ it as far as their kids. Keep life simple. I don't want anyone to think I'm not being equitable, though I don't THINK my kids would get that way but you never know. I've seen wills that really caused hard feelings. But SUZE is our current expert and I agree w/ her advice. Pace yourself.
SUZE I didn't know (except for you and my friend in the pacific northwest) that there was a tummy bug going around. Maybe that will explain my gut issues to some extent anyway.
LORD NO CONNIE!! You cannot have another URI/sinus thing of any kind. And I ADORE burled walnut (don't know if your walnut is burled). Always reminds me of when I had my Jaguar. Best looking car ever but what a piece of crap! LOL Sad about those kids not being sponsored for Christmas. I'll go tomorrow to our Amenity center and pick up an Angel. I keep meaning to but forget. No excuse.
Not that hungry today but trying to make sure my gut keeps healthy so I had my old standby from back in the day for bkfst: Meal 1: coffee 2 almond milk Meal 2: 1/2 cup Fiber one, 1/4 cup FF ricotta, 1 TB cocoa powder, 1 TB splenda and 1 cup almond milk all mixed up. Meal 3: will be pork chop on the Foreman and oven roasted parm. zucchini fries. Dipped in Parmesan and pulverized Fiber one. I'll probably have some kim chee for the pro-biotics. Or not. Cabbage sounds a little 'rough' about now.

I hope your gut gets better soon Celeste. It probably is IBS. My tummy gurgles every day.
My oldest brother did a great job in making sure everything was divided equally after my mom passed.
Going to cattle auction tomorrow but making Kenneth take me to Chic-fil-a.Then he can have his hamburger at the auction.
I have learned to really like Splenda Celeste. It doesn't leave a residue on the glass like Truvia does.

BECKY I'm w/ you on Splenda as far as taste, aftertaste and residue. If I have to I'll use the blue stuff (equal), but I just can't get behind the pink stuff or any of the stevias. I keep trying but bleah.
SANDY you're under the kind of stress, that for me, makes me NOT want to eat. I've never been a stress eater and in fact the more stress, the less hungry... almost to the point of being queasy. Don't force it. you'll be hungry when you're hungry. The GOOD thing about this kind of stress? It's finite and doesn't last forever. I knew you had a brother that had passed and didn't think you had other siblings but I wasn't sure. That should make the actual procedures a lot less complicated. I did know you had the aunt in Aubrey.
And AMEN on ALL of us making sure our wills are tight. Children, step children, grands... that can make it complicated if things aren't in black and white. In CEMENT!
Tummy is a bit better tonight. This started after thanksgiving and got worse every day. Peeked yesterday and (knock on wood) it's better somewhat today. But I need to address this at any rate b/c this is a pattern. Better, then BLAMMO for a few days... or a few weeks... then better then blammo.
Of course like taking your car in and saying "There's a PING" and it sounds just fine, I'm going to go in and explain about my gut noises and pains... and everything is going to be just fine.

Celeste...you should have used your phone to record your gurgling gut ...wonder if that would work. At any rate, glad it seems to be settling down.
We met with a lawyer a month or so ago to update our wills / power of attorney, etc. We hadn’t done that since the first one was done more than 30 yrs ago. You could not pay me enough to write ... or read ...those types of documents! I know most of it is boiler-plate for them, but egads it is complicated & wordy.
Sandy....lots to deal with & process right now....glad you have Dale to lean on & that he has been involved with the farm for a while...that has to help.
Connie...that sinus stuff just keeps coming back to vex you. That is a lot of kids!!! Hope some other angels were able to help. I always do a couple of kids’ requests from our tree at church....so much fun to pick out things that they may not normally get & that will make their Chridtmas a little brighter.
Becky .. enjoy lunch out tomorrow!
Suze...good for you keeping up with the arm challenge...haven’t gotten around to that here.
Steph...hope you feet / back felt better today. Comfy shoes are a teachers best friend!
Dawdled over lunch today with retirees...then got a little more shopping done. Tomorrow I need to take inventory & see just where i’m at. Also need to get Cara’s birthday presents wrapped.
Bedtime here...good night all 😴

I WISH I had tried recording my gut a couple of days ago. yesterday was a better day than i'd had in ages. Today was even better. 80% normal. I even opened a can of black bean soup prior as an appetizer w/ our pork chops and baked zucchini "fries". So far so good. i haven't had legumes in eons. And OMG YES on those documents. As you said, they're right off the computer and just tweaked for each person but still.... so much PAPER. Mine was given to me in a faux leather bound good sized binder. And if that was bad... you should see when i incorporated to buy my other house. Sheeeesh what a racket. And I have no idea what it says. LOL
I've really done NO shopping. OK I did just buy Amazon Prime for Meridth as she asked for it again for next year. I too love me my Prime.
Well off to shower. Then an AM appointment w/ the GI doctor but I'm afraid like the car mechanic, I won't be making that pinging noise. Go figure. Night all.

Y’all are laughing about recording Celeste’s belly. That is actually how we diagnosed mary agnes’s heart problems. Soon as they saw it they knew what it was.

CONNIE good reminder….I’ve always done and angel or two and haven’t picked one up yet. There are so many. Oh man I hope you are not coming down with that crud again! I can’t remember, have you done allergy testing? After I was sick with that crud over and over and over, I had allergy testing done and found I was allergic to things that I lived with… feather pillows, down, etc. I had to change/do a few things differently to help alleviate allergy triggers, which eventually went into sinus infections and bronchitis.
SANDY it sounds like the estate will be settled without a hitch. That’s good to hear. It can get so dang stressful, and like Angie said - so much to process – legal, emotional all mixed together.
Will? But you have to have stuff TO will, correct? LOL. I have my beneficiaries tight since they supersede wills on bank accounts, etc. anyway, but I’m going to try to spend everything before I kick the bucket. The school sponsors informative meetings about wills, trusts, etc. during the year at school. During the recent one Jay (estate attorney) said that Texas was one of the best to die in with regard to estate laws. California – not so much.
ANGIE - aw come on..that’s interesting stuff, lol! I know, I know, I’m a freak.
CELESTE sounds like your gut is coming around…of course just in time for your appointment.
LOUISE I was watching The Good Doctor last night and they were doing virtual reality type trial runs of a heart operation. I wonder if that technology actually exists? It’s pretty dang cool.
Waving to BECKY & STEPH.. enjoy your day.
Back to the grind stone. BBL

LOUISE back in the day when cell phones and digital cameras were just coming into play, RYan would get this weird rash and by the time I got him to the doctor it would go away. So my friend (a photographer w/ all the digital stuff) took photos and it was dx via the pics..
haha SUZE on having stuff to need a will. First of all you have to make arrangements for LULU!!!!! The heck w/ your house and other properties and $$. And I guess Mark will take her but otherwise I WILL!!! CALIFORNIA = the single most litigious state in the US. THANK HEAVENS b/c that's why I get the big bucks in alimony!! Keep up those law suits, California.
OK Luckily (?) No need for recording my gut. I woke up in misery so only had a cuppa cawfee so I could get my plumbing moving. And it moved. And moved and moved. By the time I got into the doctor's office you could hear my bubble guts across the room. So Dr. Aspergers... I mean Friedman said it's definitely IBS b/c there was nothing on the colonoscopy or endoscopy that we had to be concerned with as long as this isn't diverticulitis and I said the pain is the same BUT in a completely different area. So.... surprise surprise, I'm on a low FODMAP diet for 2 weeks. If it works, great, and then I can start adding foods in slowly 1 at a time to see what works and doesn't. He also put me on 2 OTC meds. He gave me enough samples and said if it works, buy more. If not don't bother. BECKY I WAS THINKING ABOUT YOU. 1) for upper belly pain, bloating, nausea, belching he put me on FDGard (FD being functional dyspepsia). It's actually just a kind of peppermint oil and caraway oil that is targeted to stomach and small intestines. 2) IBGard (for IBS and it's micro-encapsulated peppermint oil but it's time release and targeted to the lower GI bowel.)
He also wants me on some weird antibiotic that is not absorbed by the stomach or small intestine (I never heard of it) but he said he anticipated probable issues w/ Medicare covering it. And if so, he'll do a pre-authorization process and work w/ Medicare b/c it's crazy expensive. But it's to kill off the bad bacteria that are probably overpopulating my gut, so the good bacteria can flourish.
Well low and behold, I got home from seeing him and already had a recording from Walmart that there is an insurance issue and they'll work w/ the doctor and the insurance company and try to come up w/ a resolution and may have to "reach out to me." FREAKING MEDICARE!!!
He wants the abx as a back up anyway. he's hoping the FDgard, the IBgard and the low FODMAP will be the "cure." He may have the beside manner of a gnat but he knows his stuff and I really like him (yes he did his undergrad at UT but med school out of state!!)

CELESTE- Glad the doctor has a plan. Now let's see if the insurance will go along.....
Not having a great day here.
Finished my 12 hr midnight shift, came out to my car and when I started it there were all these warning lights on the dash. I thought "it's just cold (36 degrees), the electronics are just affected...they'll be fine once the car warms up." One of the electronic messages said I had 7 pounds of air in my left rear tire and 4 pounds in my right rear tire. Turns out...I have TWO flat tires! For real! I got out and looked and there was a screw in each. Called Joe, who luckily was working locally in the shop today, and he came and plugged both tires and used a portable inflator to pump them back up. Talk about being thankful for a husband who can do EVERYTHING! He saved me from calling AAA and having the car hauled to a tire place on a flatbed and waiting for them to repair it. He surmised that someone probably lost a box of screws out of their truck as the screws looked unused. At least it wasn't a vandalism issue.
Came home and was too keyed up to go straight to bed. So I ended up eating a bunch of crap I shouldn't have. Once I went to bed I was only able to sleep about 4 hours. Woke up wide awake, but really tired. It's going to be a VERY long night at work....

Well the just stinks, Connie.....talk about a double whammy. Glad Joe was in town to rescue you. Maybe you can catch a few winks this afternoon before work....or would that just make it worse?
Celeste....hard to get the whole pkg (personality & competence)....but glad you felt confident in his assessment & have a plan. Not looking forward to dealing with Medicare....R starts in 1 month. Hopefully nothing major rears it’s head.
Suze....you want to proof my will before I sign? My eyes crossed when I tried to get thru it....and honestly it’s pretty straightforward. 2 kids....split what’s left ...which may not be much if we have too much fun! Ah well....one of those necessities.
Waves yo the rest of the bunch ~~~
Checking things off my list. Birthday presents wrapped & just finished putting together “Waiting for Santa” bags for all 4 dgks....Christmas jammies, a book, finger puppets for the little guys, & an activity book for the older ones....just a few things they can enjoy during the long month of Dec. when their parents are frazzled. The entire family is getting matching jammies ...Mickey : Minnie red /black plaid fleece....so darn cute! Hoping we can all put them on Saturday night & get a decent pic ....would be cute for cards.
Thinking about pulling out decorations for my pathetic tree that is standing unadorned in my family room...

HOLY MOLY CONNIE! Two flats! I know when I first moved into this house, there was SO much construction in all directions of m yhouse that I wound up w 3 screws in my tires. But one at a time. The guy at Discount Tires joked with me "we only will repair this for free 3 times and we insist that you take the magnets out of your tires." For a minute I thought he was serious and opened my mouth to say WHAT MAGNETS and then it hit me, the he was kidding. I'm usually not so gullible. But CONNIE my first thought when I read your post was that someone did it on purpose since it was 2 of them. Now you need to figure out where it happened so you don't go there again until you know they screws are gone. And yes not only CAN your DH fix it, but he did it. i'd never have asked my ex. Or Bob if he's at work. Anyway sorry that happened but that had to be mentally draining.
ANGIE true about difficult to get the whole package and of course I'll take competence. And knowing he's "on the spectrum" makes one a lot more accepting of a complete lack of people skills. I mean I need a good doctor, not a new best friend. And at least you have your tree UP. Mine is in pieces in the garage. I could try and do it. I mean if I were single I'd do it by myself.
People come on over for some turkey bone broth. I'm obsessing over it. AND it's good for IBS .... as our friend Charlie Sheen said..> WINNNNNNING.
