Hi all...i haven't read through posts completely and will later.
CELESTE I hate to see what's happening with Bob health issue, and you as it affects you too. Nasty stuff that cancer in any form. Prayers and good vibes always.
I'm in the doctor's office, stitches are out but still some raw edges. Doing an embryonic skin graft shortly which should accelerate remaining healing. Disappointed (ok, very disappointed) but ... it will be ok. For some reason my body is just not healing this this wound efficiently.
Oh did someone say carb spiral? Did you see me on my way down?
More later.

ANGIE the 1st link didn't open for me but yeah... waddling to the fridge for chocolate cake on THX would sum me up.
NO NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO leave Miss Brisket ALONE!!!!!!! SANDY!!!!!!! She called me and said "I DON'T WANNA GOOOOOOOOO"
SUZE it's not your body. It's a FOOT. My foot surgery seemed WAY worse and WAY longer to heal than it should of IMHO. So if misery loves company, it was about the 3 month mark before I was FINALLY turning the corner. And 6 months before I was "YEAH I'm so glad I got that done." Either doctors don't warn us enough, or we don't hear them or we have unrealistic expectations. I had a friend who had her foot "cleaned up" due to arthritis. SMALL incision on the top of her foot. She was much younger and much fitter than I but she was exactly the same. Months of "I should have left well enough alone". But she's great now. And to some degree I know the older we get, the harder it is to heal. Also since feet are at the END of our circulatory system, and kind of gets the blood flow after it's been everywhere else, I don't think feet heal as quickly. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.
I took TWO doses of Miralax yesterday as I've been in pretty bad cramping pain and have had such trouble sleeping b/c of it. At first it was gas, then it was just PAIN. I'm not 100% sure that I've dodged a diverticulitis bullet but since the Miralax worked finally this AM, I'm hoping for improvement. My pain is probably down 50% but I wanted a miracle in that once things "moved" my pain would disappear. Not so much. But yesterday there were times I was literally doubled up. I believe I have some antispasmodics from when I had divertic last time so I may dig those up and take one. I'm not a happy camper but at least I see my GI guy this week. I do not want him to say those 3 words he's hung up on "FIBER. MIRALAX. SURGERY."

Sandy...yup...back on track. Upcoming vacation is my motivation right now.
Suze....oh drat! But I do concur on what an ordeal it can be to get feet healed up. Years ago I had a soft mass in the arch of my foot removed....but it was also stuck to the bottom of the foot so I ended up with 2 incisions. Took forever to heal & awhile to get to the point of forgetting it was done/ back to a fully functioning foot. Hang in there! This will get better! Sending a hug your way.
Celeste....hope your gut simmers down. How miserable.
Off to do a little more shopping....

Celeste - sorry you are still having problems.
Poor Suze, my friend that had her foot surgery about the same time you did is getting all her pins out.

Fell asleep sitting on the couch at 3am. DH got up about 4am to go out of town to work. I went to bed around 5am when he left. Slept till about 1pm. So I got lots of sleep, but it will be a long time till I get home from my shift. (18 hrs) Hope I can stay awake the whole time without too much trouble.
I had to reschedule my life insurance physical. I picked Dec 21. so I will have time to take off the Thanksgiving weight gain. Amazing how far off track I got over the course of 4 days. I'm sure it will take MUCH longer to get back on track. I'm officially going to straighten up as of midnight. New day, new start. Need to restart that arm challenge also.
Jasper has been on his antibiotic for his UTI for 8 days. So far, today is the first day I haven't seen blood in his urine. He only has 2 days of medicine left. Hope the infection will be knocked out by then.
I ordered some Christmas gifts for DH today. I always spend WAY too much on gifts at Christmas. It gives me great joy to watch people open them. I'm debating getting him one more thing that would truly blow the budget. He's such a great husband that I feel like he deserves to be spoiled.
Still need to figure out what to get my parents, my stepson, grandson, two brothers in law, and my college room mate. And we are doing a gift exchange at work.
Ok, need to do a bit of house-straightening before work. Seems like DH can make this place look like it has been hit by a tornado in no time. I'm happy tho that he will only be out of town 2 days this week. He will come home tomorrow night. Yay!
SUZE- sorry to hear the foot is still giving you fits. Hang in there.

CONNIE.... buy the budget buster. I swear we all more often regret what we DID NOT do rather than what we DO DO. Recently, at $400/bitcoin my son told me to particpate in the cryptocurrency market and told me to buy Bitcoin. He bought a BUNCH (like 100 coins) at $400 each, but even though he tried repeatedly to explain it to me, other than the very basics, I didn't "get it" and still don't. Like how do these people "mine" bitcoin when there is no PHYSICAL bitcoin? Ryan explained it and he might as well have been speaking Klingon. It's too ethereal for me (maybe that's why the 2nd most popular cryptocurrency is called ETHEREUM). But I hesitated and hesitated. Then in July it was $4000 PER BITCOIN (so it went up 10 times) and my son said BUY... you still need to BUY. Even my investment advisor said "it's going to go up.... BUY." But I didn't and do I regret it? YOU BET I DO! It's now closing in on $10,000/coin. DUDE if I did my math correct, if he sells now he'd make like $960,000!!!!!!!!! I feel like a dolt but at 66 I'm more risk averse than he is. But sheeeeeesh. And i don't even want to think of the times I debated buying Alphabet and Amazon. SO DO IT. It's only money. And no price on the joy you'll bring to your DH. I got almost 10K steps in, by doing 2 moderately long walks b/c it's lovely outside. But my gut hurt the entire time. So for week 3 I have 1 of my 2 STRETCH days done and it's only day 1. Glad to get them out of the way. So how's everyone doing on the arm challenge? I did it x3 and that's it. I've decided I LOVE having flabby flappy arms!!! And I know when you look at my arms, all y'all are JEALOUS or as someone said "y'all 'jelly' ". Apropos. I think I'll be skipping lunch and maybe dinner too. I had some Fiber One and almond milk earlier and though I'm a bit hungry, my lower gut is not happy. So I may have some broth. WENDY'S just opened up about a mile or 2 from my house so Bob can go there and get chili and a baked tater or whatever.

CELESTE- there are lots of "experts" that think bitcoin is a dangerous investment. I won't go anywhere near it. Unregulated currency worries me. You can bet if I were up $960,000 on any investment, I would SELL SELL SELL! And on the subject of risk averse....I just rebalanced my portfolio to decrease my risk exposure.
Ok, I'm off to work shortly.

Need to catch up from yesterday. After church, I sat at the computer and worked on my lessons for the week. Took all afternoon. Made chicken-n-dumplins for dinner. In bed by 9:30 and up at 4:55 this morning. Once the day started, I have not stopped. My feet hurt and my back feels like it's going out. I put small inserts in my shoes thinking it would help my heals, but I think it's thrown my back. Wearing tennis tomorrow and don't care how it looks. For the most part, food choices were good today. Arm challenge is a challenge....sigh....not giving up, just need to not be in pain right now.
Autumn & I want to go see the Star movie & Wonder. Hopefully, we can do that soon. I have to work Sat....on my feet for hours.

Celeste....I asked Rick what he knew about bitcoins....just that he wishes heβd invested in them 10 yrs ago. Like you, too risky at this stage of the game. And you almost made me snort my wine as I read that you LOVE your flabby flappy arms....how does that go...ROFLMAO?!?
Connie....itβs fun to give that special gift to that special someone...spoil away!
Becky ....lol on the turkey chasing you ...ainβt it the truth!
Lots of phone errands today...but all went pretty quickly with efficient people. Got a little shopping done.
Good Christmas music on ABC tonight ...a nice change from endless football.
