For some reason, I keep reading this thread name as new plan DESSERTS. Wishful thinking I guess!

Jainarayan, after seeing how WW is saying that there are less foods you have to track, so less tracking to make it easier for "us", I see more people losing more slowly or not at all. Just because they won't track zero points foods. Same as those that don't track the zero fruits and veggies already. I always track my zero foods, heck, I even track plain black coffee, just so when I look back, I will know everything I had that day. I can see where there is going to be some unhappy campers. 100gone, it is not just you. I see it every time and think, oh, I wonder what new desserts have been posted today lol, even though I have been following the thread

Not losing a whole lot on the scale, but my belly has shrunk by about 5-6" since October 2017.

Jainarayan, I am sorry you went through that... You should have come over and hung out with us on the old Core board. Dang, we had an awesome group of people when it was core. I am finally getting used to these boards, but I do miss the WW boards still. I never hung out on the GDT boards, as there were some tough gals over there. I generally try to skip confrontation, especially in the virtual world. Thanks, what did I know... ? I have to admit that I often gave it back to them, which was something they couldn't get their heads wrapped around... that anyone would take them to task. Some of them thought I was just some dumb meat-head gym rat. I got a rep' from that I could never shake, so I left. Sometimes I'm my own worst enemy.

Jainarayan , after seeing how WW is saying that there are less foods you have to track, so less tracking to make it easier for "us", I see more people losing more slowly or not at all. Just because they won't track zero points foods. Same as those that don't track the zero fruits and veggies already. I can see where there is going to be some unhappy campers. 100gone , it is not just you. I see it every time and think, oh, I wonder what new desserts have been posted today lol, even though I have been following the thread I hate to look at it this way, but it seems WW is "dumbing it down". I know that doesn't sound very nice, or is a nice way to put it but I can't think of another phrase. There's really no easy way to lose weight properly or get in shape without hard work. I think I see the plan getting blamed for people not losing. When I started WW in 2012 my sister said to me "it didn't work for me". As I went along and lost 30 lbs in about 6 months working the plan, I thought "of course it didn't work for her... she didn't follow it". So when I gained it all back, and then some, I knew it didn't work for me... because I didn't follow it!

Given human mentality I wonder how many people will complain they aren't losing, because they're not tracking many or a lot of foods. What I mean is, for me tracking and portion control, weighing and measuring are intertwined. If 3 oz. of turkey are 1 point, 24 oz. are 12 points now, at 0 points for 24 oz. on the new plan, let's say, it's still 24 oz. of calories that can be overeaten. Or is my thinking off-base? @rene mentions unfollowing various WW Facebook groups; I follow only one UK WW group currently to take the pulse of people's experience with the new plan. And most of what I see is overwhelmingly negative. That doesn't mean everyone experience is negative, but most likely that the ones who feel the need to post are the ones who feel negative—they need to lash out at the program and hopefully have others tell them they are right and WW is wrong. I've done a lot of carping about "SmartPoints 1" over the past two years, but that was because I had to choose between "healthy" foods or not gettng satisfied beause I enjoyed some foods that the planet outside of the WW world would consider "normal." (Like fat-free milk, sweet potatoes, etc.) The upcoming plan change addresses those issues for me. I'm experienced enough to know not to go hog wild, but look forward to being able to construct menus that use mostly zero-point foods to allow for the occasional dessert of higher-point food as part of the menu. Much of what I'm seeing on the UK Facebook group seems to indicate to me that a lot of those who report there are trying to use as many zero-point foods as they can in order to conserve their daily points for things like alcohol, desserts, etc. And there's nothing wrong with that unless it causes weight to stall or increase; and at that point, the solution is to reassess the way you're using the plan, not to strike out to blame the plan. But, as long-timers around here know, we go through this sort of upheaval every time the program changes. Fasten your seatbelts, folks, it's going to be a bumpy few months.

It sure will be zazzles . Maintenance points on the new plan are 5 opposed to 6 on the current plan.

borntexan, (Love the avatar, by the way). I noticed that. I've actually got myself set to lose right now. But, when I went to maintenance mode I noticed it. Of course, in maintenance I was always taught you just trial and error it until you end up where you are maintaining. zazzles, Yes, I do feel that some people are using it to mostly reserve points for junk foods. And, honestly, I certainly do some of that myself. Not entirely though. I actually feel that I am eating healthier now than I was before. While I like a lot of the 0 point foods I wasn't really prioritizing them before and I think my balance had gotten a little overbalanced to foods that weren't awful for me but weren't really nutritious either. I want to get in a goodly number of 0 point foods now so it has overall elevated my diet. I have been on so many plans. I started with the exchange plan in the late 1980s which I loved at the time although it does lack flexibility in terms of how you eat. Think GHG on mega-steroids. Then I went through many incarnations of points. I like the points plan earlier that allowed you to roll over points (although I didn't like the formula that much). I was pretty happy with Points Plus in terms of the formula although I still feel it was too anti-fat. I've had a love hate relationship with SP. I've felt that it basically is correct in discouraging sugar and sat. fat but I felt the penalties were too high and the fact that it couldn't distinguish natural sugar from added was a negative (which wasn't WW's fault). It bothered me that SP seemed so disconnected from calories. And, that is even more so with the new program. And, yet it doesn't bother me. Maybe because it is now so clear that points really aren't a shorthand for calories. It means something else. So I am embracing that. Now, being the analytical person that I am, I do still track everything in MFP so I'm getting all that info. But, I do feel that I am eating better and am more satisfied and overall happier on the new program. Let me put it this way. I used to prioritize my calorie goal. And, there were days I ate way under 30 SP (and felt a little guilty about it) and weekly I went way over on WP. But, if I was OK on calories and my overall macro goals I felt OK about it. What I am finding now is that I am meeting my calorie goal more easily, but I am also staying within my WP and I don't have to worry any more about being below the daily SP goal. I used to hardly ever get a blue dot (and it wasn't important to me). Now, I am getting it 5 or 6 days a week without trying.
