SANDY the first thing I ever made in my Instant pot was guisada. REALLY good.
STEPH on paper once my kids started driving, I thought I'd have all this "down time". Somehow it fills up so quickly with lord knows what! And ya know, sometimes my body and mind NEEDS those occasional down days. You deserve it.
SUZE glad you made it safely. I hope your travels were (and remain) uneventful. Hi to Bean and the other TED.
Other than making it to Walmart to grocery shop, I've been in jammies all day. I feel like crud but I think this afternoon was the turning point (she says hopefully).
Sleep well my pretties!!

I am NOT on board. But I will be. I am back at my starting weight of 10 years ago and disappointed and miserable and overwhelmed. I did track yesterday to get in the habit, and it is going to be difficult to get my head back in that game. I am really resistant, so my attitude needs adjusting, obviously. And I really have to think about how I will do this. Get back in the PLANNING game. At the airport I did choose to have a hamburger no bun, and a small side salad instead of fries. No snacks. And I managed to get 8,000 steps (on crutches) Tuesday. I donβt think Iβll truly be on board until I get home. Cleaned out my fridge before I left, so Iβll be ready to dig in and do something differentβ¦ JUST DO SOMETHING! LOL.
CELESTE how are you feeling? My goal is to stay well during this trip. It was 4 degrees when I arrived last night and man does that hit your lungs. But I do like the cold for a change. Good for you on that 5# loss (I found it).
Oh gosh, it sounds like a few of you have the crud! Feel better soon.
SANDY like I said Iβm not on board yet, but Iβm not leaving the station either. I was talking to my DSS about how I βfeelβ like I will never get back in shape, and of my plan to hire a trainer for a bit when I am back at the gym, and he reminded me that (as we know) itβs all βup hereβ [pointing to his head]. I am just going to have to look for small victories and keep going. As you will. Our health is way too precious to squander.
MARY it is good to see you! And WTG on your loss on Freestyleβ¦ thatβs motivation!
CONNIE - Yoda was right! So true. Good for you for getting on the treadmill. I am also a believer in βjust do itβ. I also started getting more water in, for the same reason.
HI BECKY, ANGIE & STEPH.
My sister had our nieceβs 9 yo daughter over for a visit (sis is on good terms with Dad, not our niece β but she has no custody or visitation anyway) so it was really nice to spend some time with her. She is doing very well, and even though my niece is blood, well β NOT having her daughter is the best thing that could have happened for the little girl. Between now and Monday, Sis only works for a few hours on Friday, so weβll be bopping around visiting. Saturday weβll gather at my brotherβs house for a late Christmas. I think most will be there, with the exception of my brother in NY.
I went to the doc before leaving yesterday, and my foot has made progress. The graft did well, and the open area has shrunk noticeably. He put medicinal honey on it, and about Friday or Saturday I need to start treating it again with the Santyl cream. I am up and about with my boot, and can get around with one crutch usually (although I brought both up here)β¦ sometimes I can go crutch-less! LOL Iβve been rolling a frozen water bottle under my heel at night and keeping up with IB for inflammation. Light at the end of this tunnel, thank God.
Have a wonderful day, friends. Iβl l BB.

Greetings from the tundra! Egads it is frigid up here....and the weekend is really looking brutal....the highs for a couple of days wonβt even reach 0.....crazy cold.
Sandy....have fun with Katy. How did she like the doll clothes / closet? Bet she loved them!
Suze...sounds like you are finally making some headway with the foot.....yeah! Enjoy your family time. Iβm working on getting my head back on the game. Like you said, iβm Not leaving the station.
Steph....that will be great to have Z take A in the mornings & give you some extra time. A good plan for getting your walk on the treadmill.
Mary....nice loss for the month! I havenβt signed on with we again. Mulling over just what to do. We leave on a 3 week vacation in a month.....and I plan to enjoy that. But in the meantime, I can work on making better choices, water, & more activity.
Celeste & Louise....hope you are both feeling better!
Connie....I always enjoyed the FB competitions we used to do within the group. Somehow my contacts there got messed up quite a while ago. I did finally get my new FB ....just havenβt had time to get it set up yet.
Went to breakfast with the Rickβs dad / brother, & sister in law. Sitting around visiting with Dad until we go to lunch at the senior center....oh boy! Will head home sometime this afternoon. Had planned to stay over yet tonight, but need to be back for a funeral tomorrow morning. Good thing....I am just ready to be home & get some decent sleep again....too many late nights, early mornings, just not sleeping well.

Kitties are fine although very demanding (Morgan especially) whenever their food bowl is empty. Morris (outside neighborhood cat) is in my garage right now because it is freaking cold (cold and wet) in S TX. Temps are not supposed to be out of lower/mid 40's (IF they make it that high) for several days AND one forecast service calls for ICE Tuesday morning!
I would recommend recipes from SkinnyTaste.com and DrizzleMeSkinny.com that will correlate with the new WW program. MOST of the recipes have been updated to current program SP.
I have also had to do the following the last few months: replace the battery in my car replace the thermostat for my heat/AC unit as the heat part was not working - probably due to Harvey replace the ice maker in my fridge because there was a crack in one end and the ice bin was filling up with water/ice in one big lump
AND, last night, I ran over one of those large bright yellow lane markers near an elementary school that I found out this morning was cement that was broken with multiple sharp edges - therefore, it put a HUGE hole in the sidewall of one of my making it terminally dead - one other tire already had a patch on it and all had @47,000 miles so instead of replacing 1 now and 3 later, to keep the same amount of tred on all tires, I now have 4 brand new tires on my car. Can you say $$$?

THANKS CONNIE! I knew it was somewhere in the 217s. I am not in the running w/ this FODMAP but am glad that in any case, I'm still on the downside.
UGH LOUISE. Prednisone and weight loss? FUGEDABOUDIT.
SANDY thanks for asking. Bob seems pretty much his annoying self.... I mean his normal self. If he does get fatigued, this week would be the one where he was starting to feel normal. He goes in for round 2 on Jan 4th. ROund 3 would be while we're cruising so hopefully he can delay that one by a week. The last time he tried actual chemo vs this "biologic" he had to discontinue it as he got terrible cellulitis which is what we were afraid of. Knock on wood, so far so good. I had Vicks all over my chest, neck and nose and I'm sure it helped. Maybe I should put some on now b/c I'm hacking terribly.
SUZE SUZE SUZE, for me attitude is everything. Once I make that adjustment, my food follows. The tough thing for you is that you usually start being the Energizer bunny, exercising your ass off, then the rest follows. Maybe you can do weight training? Esp core and upper body? Maybe that would get you into the right mindset. I hate exercise so much that for me it's just a reason to QUIT.
OMG YESSSSSSSSSS LOUISE on the breathing treatment. I always think of it AFTER I get so damn sick. I'm pulling out my nebulizer as soon as I finish here. THANKS!! My new doctor told me NOT to wait on it until I've got bronchitis or pneumonia. Good advice from my doc and your DD.
ANGIE I agree w/ you. I enjoy the FB competitions b/c I CAN control how many steps I take. As I said, I cannot control the damn scale.
MARY I love Skinnytaste.com and have both of her WONDERFUL cookbooks (love the new Fast and Slow which includes instant pot as well as crock pot recipes). I've never heard of the other one. I'll check it out as I suck on my nebulizer. EGADS on that crap run of luck on your car and fridge. Seems when you start opening the wallet for repairs it is never ending for a while. Like ENOUGH ALREADY.
Off to Vicks myself up and get out my nebulizer and the 2 meds I put in it. I hate that albuterol b/c it makes me so shaky. Oh well.

Made the best salmon patties. Low FODMAP.
Meal 1 was 3 coffees and 3 eggs and 2 GF toasts. Meal 2 was salmon patties. They were really good AND low FODMAP. Just canned salmon, a bit of mayo, soy and chopped green onions, green part only. I used 1 TB ground flax to kind of keep them together (but they were pretty soft and mushy which was OK w/ me. Cooked until they got a little crust then over iceberg lettuce w/ low FODMAP 1000 Island dressing. Filling and satisfying. And a total of 7 points since salmon, eggs and onion tops are all O. Oh wait. The dressing... total of 9 SP. Not bad for 2 meals. Dinner is going to be ham (no glaze), sweet potatoes, 12 green beans. So another 6 SP. Add 5 for 1 TB butter. I have 3 points left for a bedtime snack. ORRRRRRR I could have left over chili (0 P) w/ shredded cheese 4. I need to ahve this 0 p chili ready for EMERGENCIES.
