Cute ideas, Sandy. I like the π one.
I do not even want to get out of bed. It is ZERO degrees with -20 windchill .... and itβs not going to get much better for the next 3 days. Brrrrrrrrr

Morning all,
Angie, I would NOT go outside for anything with those temps. I've been complaining about our cold. I moved my laptop upstairs and have been hanging out in my room the past several days. Downstairs is so cold. It justs hurts my body. Today is supposed to be upper 50s. The outside lights will be going away today as we are getting a cold front coming in tonight/tomorrow.
Suze, just being able to stand up straight in the shower made all the difference, I'm sure. Enjoy your family time.
Celeste, you got the crud for Christmas? That's no bueno! On top of the digestion/stomach issues.
Becky, we're supposed to get that mixed rain/sleet in the next 48 hrs. Hoping it doesn't get this far and is gone by Tues morning.
Sandy, we're always saying we're hoping on the train (again). I'm up for anything and my mindset it ready. Poor Ms. Brisket....although, she's probably going to taste really good. That's a lot of meat!
Louise, are the meds working? One year, I was in the dr's office every 6 weeks with sinus/bronchitis. It took the entire summer break to get well.
Waves to Mary, Connie, Terry.
Looks like I'm going to have to make a grocery store run tomorrow. Autumn has another friend coming over, so we'll pick her up after church and stop to get the few things I forgot for the chicken chili. I'm also going to make a banana cake (not bread) and then I do not plan to go out again until late Mon when I take her friend back home, but I'm not getting out of my car.
No major plans for the day. I would like to get all the bags in my room to my car & off to Salvation Army. The stacks have been building for some time. Y'all have a great Saturday! BBL

My sister was telling me of cooking hard boiled eggs where you actually crack the egg and put them in plastic mold and then hard boil. Anyone tried them? It was news to me, but that's no surprise. I follow the regular old boiling method. Bring water to boil, turn off and let eggs cook for 20 minutes or so, immediately immerse in ice water.
Been researching doing low carb and keto adapted to WW, and it's making me feel more comfortable and enthusiastic going forward. It will be less restrictive (and lower fat) than straight Keto, but I've generally gone with about 30-40NC per day as a rule, and it works for me. I just was having a mental block with all the talk of turkey and chicken being zero points after I've gotten used to a variety of meats. Like my brain was saying NO! NO! I cannot go back to eating just turkey and chicken! Not realistic of course, but that's where my brain went. Sort of like when my Mom was on WW and I guess years ago you ate tuna fish all the time. She resisted EVER doing WW again after that. Not that stubbornness runs in the family or anything....
AND Ms. CELESTE, I've been mulling around getting back to the gym just for weights. Why not? I can get around now and I won't do anything that puts stress on my leg/foot. THX
STEPH staying in sounds pretty good (unless you've been staying in for 10-11 weeks, lol). If you can get the car loaded, that will be a great accomplishment for a cold day.

ANGIE Ryan and Roland are still coughing and sneezing but doing better. I feel like death so I know how they felt when I was there. And I agree about the mattress "testing". I mean how long can you just lie there while the salesperson stares at you? But I did pig-in-a-poke on my last mattress a couple of weeks ago. I bought a Charles P Rodgers b/c it was the #1 rated in Consumer Reports. It shipped from New Jersey and it was "factory direct." I LOVE IT!!! I figured I lay down for a while on both my Tempurpedic and my Stearnes and Foster, bought them both. HATED my Tempurpedic and i was fine w/ my S&F, but I like the Rodgers better.
SANDY I'm not ignoring you on the challenge but until I get this FODMAP thing behind me, I don't have a pony in the race.
LOUISE I'm with you on a HELLOVA night. COughing and congested and sore throat. I'm going to do a breathing treatment in a few.
Yeah STEPH... gut and lung issues... just shoot me now. And LOL YES we ALWAYS are jumping on that train until that train runs us down and is meaningless. I don't want to see that train again b/c everyone falls off it. Enjoy your remaining days off (tick tick tick)
SUZE I've seen those "molds" for eggs. One issue... about 1 in 3 of my eggs have the yolk break when I open it so then what? Also I don't want to have to clean the pot, then clean and store those molds. I know I wouldn't use them. But I do love my HB egg cooker. I use it twice a week.
And SUZE I too got hung up on turkey and chicken BREASTS (ick). But salmon and scallops and shrimp... We need to think outside of the poultry box. Also... weights = muscles = increased metabolism. So..... what's MY EXCUSE? haha
Not sure what I ate in the past 24 hours or if it's still the Trader Joe "oreos" I had 36 hours ago but my gut is STILL not happy w/ me and I need to be close to the ladies' room at all times. GRRRRR. I was going to try to add garlic this weekend but I have to get back to normal first.
I leave 3 weeks from today for my cruise and I'd like to know if I can have garlic and onions at the very least since so many foods contain those in some form.

Celeste....where are you going on your cruise? Ours (after WDW is western Caribbean....Tampa...Grand Cayman, Costs Maya, Belize City, & Cozumel. Canβt wait for warm weather. If all I do is sit in a deck chair soaking up sunshine, I will be in heaven π
Suze....forgot you had a shower chair...
Steph...good luck with your plan for the day!
Rick is settling into retirement....though still seems more like vacation or extended vacation mode to him I think. Sleeping in a bit, snoozing in his chair while watching football π. Life is good.
Trying to decide whether or not I am going to do something productive today. I can only sit so long...and iβm about at that point... I think Iβll grab a bin of βstuffβ that needs attention & go thru that while watching this game.

ANGIE we're going to a lot of the same places as you are. But since I leave out of Galveston, it takes so long to get back and forth across the gulf of Mexico, that we only visit 3 ports. We see Cozumel, Belize and Roatan. I've been to all of them a bunch of times. I adore Coz. I'll email you some links. I never do excursions through the ships. They're EXCEEDINGLY overpriced and exceedingly crowded. You get on a huge bus w/ 40 of your new best buddies. The cruise lines "get ya" with the "we guarantee" that they'll wait if you're late? Well 1) not true... if they HAVE to go to the next port... they'll leave; and 2)at any rate they'll wait for you as long as they can, no matter where you are or with whom b/c it's a pain for them to deal w/ port authorities and get your passports etc to you. Hence the fun watching the "running of the drunks" in Cozumel when all the drunk people who've been bar hopping come running to the ship (staggering in some cases) late as can be.

Good morning.
Only slept a little over 6 hours today. And I was clenching my teeth while I slept, so my teeth are sore. Got up and hit the treadmill. Watched my alma mater (Duquesne) beat Dayton in basketball. Go Dukes!
Only 2 more nights of work. Has been a busy week. Short handed staffing plus a flu outbreak equals non-stop activity while there. I'm really tired when I get home, but can't seem to stay asleep. Thought the increased exercise on the treadmill would help, but so far it hasn't. Remember ladies, tomorrow is the end of our 45 day challenge. Will need to to post your final weight for the year so we can determine who to send our $10 to. (It won't be me!)

CONNIE I didn't know you went to Duquesne! Did you live in PA? Or I guess WVa and PA are close together. I remember Duquesne from a zillion years ago when I did independent college counseling for seniors applying to colleges and universities. Duquesne University of the Holy Spirit. Aren't there times you'd love to be back in college? I sure would. If I knew then................
So I bit the bullet and today added garlic. I had a Gluten free pizza at Palios (not the worst crust I ever had... thin and kind of crispy), w/ red sauce and sausage. I assume both have garlic. They say it will take as early as 6 hours or as late as 48 hours for things to become problematic. Fingers crossed. Next I guess will be onions. I sure hope those are not the offenders. I love most veggies and legumes and milk products but CAN easily live w/o them.
It's quite cold out there. I'm now back, showered and in my jammies.
Good night chiquitas.

Ventured out into the tundra for a bit this afternoon. Expensive outing...we bought 2 queen & 1 king mattress π³ All on sale, but still outrageous! They wonβt be delivered for 3 weeks....So comfy I wanted them now!
Got my FB exchanged/ set up / charging now. Anxious to give it a try. I sent everyone an email friend request....somehow they had all gotten deleted a while back. Thought that way if we wanted to do some step challenges, Iβd be ready....at least in theory.
Still picking away at leftovers....put what I could in the freezer...just about have everything else used up. Have enough turkey for a pot pie yet....didnβt get that made today.
What is everyone doing for NYE? We will get together with friends. We have gotten together every year except one for 42 yrs! It is their turn to host....the only negative is going out in the cold. Ah well....weβre tough up here in the north.

Sandy....there was an article in the paper last week about βdeath cleaningβ.... as in get things cleaned up now so your kids wonβt have to later.....my dungeon came to mind!!!!
Quite a few churches here are canceled tomorrow due to cold temps. Our senior pastor posted a cute video on FB about how to get to church when it is cold .... guess we wonβt be one of those canceled.
Celeste...hope your tummy tolerates the pizza / garlic.

ANGIE I got your fitbit request and of course accepted it. But for a while I won't be doing any challenges if anyone sets them up. Too cold outside, and I still feel relatively awful. THOUGH I THINK (afraid to say it) that today I'm better than yesterday. What I'm coughing up is back to being mostly clear. I think the nebulizer treatments have helped.
SANDY I had to laugh about you listening to DH hack, cough and blow. YOU COULD be describing ME!!! I guess poor Bob is probably getting sick of listening to me too.
ANGIE that "death cleaning" makes me laugh. There was someone on our other old WW thread that was always worried that, when she died her adult kids would find embarrassing stuff in her bedside stand in the way of sex toys. She told her DH that he had to get rid of the stuff right away. But what if they die together.
I just another nebulizer treatment; I think/hope they help but the albuterol makes me a bit jumpy and hyper. It's not as bad as prednisone but enough that I won't be sleeping any time soon.
So re plans for NYEve. NOTHING. Just coughing and hacking and I didn't even REALIZE that tomorrow is NYEve! I thought I had another day! I did take the tenderloin out of the freezer and will sous vide it and finish it in a cast iron skillet for dinner on New Year's day. I guess I best buy some potatoes to make some garlic mashed potatoes (I'm supposed to make sure to eat plenty of the re-introduced foods for 3 days straight. It said every single meal but I don't want garlic for breakfast and don't have any sausage!) I'll also buy 12 green beans. LOL Tomorrow is going to be beef stew. Potatoes, leeks, carrots and grass fed beef from the local farm. I'll add garlic unless I have any issues before then.

Yesterday I said to myself "Wow the crown on my lower back right side hasn't fallen out in a while." Be careful what you think about. I was having a piece of toast as my bedtime snack and VOILA. OUt it came. You know how rough TOAST is on crowns.... just like JuJuBe's. NOT. grrrrrrrrrrrrr
